GrandmamaParticipantNo draft ever goes to plan and every year the unexpected will happen. One possible scenario is this; Brandon Knight slipping to the Kings at 7. Here’s my logic;
It seems like a foregone conlusion that Kyrie Irving will go number 1. Derrick Williams will almost assuredly be the number 2 pick for Minnesota. This is where the Jazz can screw with the whole draft order. Many people have them taking Brandon Knight at 3, but Enes Kanter has more upside and I believe the Jazz covet him more than Knight. With Kanter gone and already drafting a PG with the number 1 pick they wouldn’t consider drafting Knight. I have Cleveland taking Vesely at 4. He is a high upside player who would fit well and compliment the Irving pick.
Now it’s all up to Toronto. They are probably looking at one of the PG’s available and the two that this pick comes down to are Kemba Walker and Brandon Knight. Is it possible Toronto takes Walker over Knight? I think it’s highly possible. Rumors are swirling that Toronto is highly interested in Walker and it’s not crazy to think that they would favor Walker over Knight. Washington picks 6th and they won’t pair Wall with Knight.
That leaves Knight falling to 7th overall and the Sacramento Kings. Knight would give Sacramento a great backcourt with Evans.
I’m probably way off, but is it possible? Thoughts on a Knight/Evans backcourt?

Tobe BryantParticipantI just cannot understand why the Jazz would just be like…"Hey Devin, we know you’re an all-star caliber PG when healthy, but we are tired of you right now. We would much rather have an unproven rookie to survive in the West." This is a HIGH possibility in my opinion too!

Ahkasi ClayParticipantnobody had Knight rated in the top 5 before the lotto, most thought the Jazz @ 6 would be a reach, when the Jazz moved up to # 3 Knight seemed to catch a ride, I think Kanter, or Vessely make more sence for them!

frogmanParticipantSurely logic tells Utah to take Kanter (if available), combine him with Favors and thats a young, talented front court for many years. Then they can use Jefferson or Millsap to find a wing scorer. Maybe Jefferson plus some other pieces would get Granger away from Indiana. I think people are underestimating Harris’ ability so you got your pg for the time being. And CJ Miles is serviceable at the 2 until they find an upgrade. Thats a decent team!

BKKnicksfanParticipantIf your Utah, why not just do
#3 pick to Sacramento for the 7th pick and Omar Casspi?
That way Sacramento can take Knight, you can take Jimmer?

kdh93ParticipantI know that a lot of people wont agree with me on this but I am deffinetly not sold on kanter. not many people have seen him play and since he was ruled ineeligeble that makes me question his maturity. what i think the jazz should do is try and drop miles and possibly raja along with the 12 pick to the wolves and get one of the contracts they want to give upand move up to the number 2 and 3 since the wolves want to get lower than where they are at. now if the jazz do this it gives them a great small forward with williams to put into the starting linup once he becomes acoustom to the system and will put milsap back to where he is comfortable. then at the 3 you still take knight and same sittuation occurs at the pg possisition and if knight (6’3) does move into the starting lineup and the jazz move hayward (6’8) to the sg that gives you one of the bigger lineups in the league and a lethal bench with harris milsap and evans and even keep fesinko just to use as an expendable wall. that to me seems like a much more competitive team and is not out of the relm of possiblity imo.

Tobe BryantParticipantSo you’re telling me that Brandon Knight is better than Devin Harris or will eventually surpass him? Get real Bruh! Don’t be a prisoner of the moment! Knight is good and has potential, but he is nowhere near Harris on the same potential scale. Must I remind you of Tony Parker’s sentiment about how glad he was that Dallas moved him because Parker hated someone possessing identical quickness and speed as he did, and during the playoffs, Tony said he didn’t wanna see him.

kdh93ParticipantI am just saying that since we are obviously in a rebuilding phase it may end up being better to start a fresh pg in a year or 2 after he has had mentoring from Harris because lets face it with the amount of young faces we are gonna have after this season (if there is one) no matter what pg we take out of the draft the jazz staff are going to want to build around the young guys as much as possible to give them better chemistry which in turn will put other guys on the bench for a back up roll like Millsap and Harris. Don’t get me wrong I do think that Harris is a great asset to have for any team and I would love to see him in the starting lineup as long as possible but because of the sittuation we are in I am just not sure how long that will be.
Again I am not saying he will be better but building towars the future is really all we can do at this point after last years train wreck.

R-Dot-13ParticipantI don’t at all see the Raptors passing up on Knight for Kemba, and if they do, Im switching teams.

aamir543ParticipantI have said this all along, the Jazz should either trade up their 12 or trade down their 3. The problem is, that we dont know whot the Raps covet more, Kemba or Knight, and we also dont know whether the Kings covet Knight more than Jimmer. So if they know the will Raps take Kemba at 5 reagardless of whether knight is there, then they should take Kanter, then try to work out a deal with Washington to get the 6, and take Knight.

SwatLakeCityParticipantNo, I’m sorry Knight is not dropping to 7. Jazz are really high on him. Kanter may have more potential but if they do draft him they would probably have to trade Jefferson. Do you think that someone who hasn’t played basketball for over a year could replace Jefferson? Do you really think that Favors who is still raw could replace Jefferson? Of course neither could do that, but that’s what they would have to do.
Sorry for those of you who don’t like it but Knight is going to the Jazz.
