The leading candidates for the Knicks are Nikola Vucevic and Iman Shumpert with Markieff Morris and Kenny Faried right behind them. Vucevic won’t fall past Houston at 23, aamir543. Aran has him going 17

The Knicks need a better rebounding big man and Faried can do the trick.  A lineup of Billups, Fields, Melo, Faried, and Amare is actually pretty solid.  Facilitating PG, do-it-all athletic SG, prime time scoring SF, rebounding machine PF, and a stud C with T. Douglas off the bench……as a Sixers fan I hope you guys don’t take Faried!

He’s 6-7, 6-8 at the tallest. I will admit I was wrong if Faried turns out to be this monster rebounder, but I don’t see it in the NBA. I think he can be a solid rebounder with time off the bench. I think he’s Reggie Evans with Shawn Marion mixed. He doesn’t have any offensive move and EVEN if the Knicks take him, you’re still placing Stoudemire at the 5 and he can’t defend 5’s either. That, plus I don’t see Faried succeeding against guys like Dirk and stuff. I’m sorry, I think that’s a horrible pick for the Knicks.

Not to mention, we can find cheap rebounnding in free agency and such. If were going post, let’s go Vucevic.

He is a step above Reggie offensively and Reggie is one of the best rebounders in the NBA so why are you so down on him?  Dude is a solid defender as well.  You need these guys to win a championship.

The Knicks need a 5, not a 4.  Amare at the 5 is a guarantee to win nothing since he’ll be so worn down by year’s end.  Vucevic or Biyombo!

Selby should fall, and, if he’s as competitve as they say, it will MAKE his career.  Darius is a huge steal, especially as he can be the 3rd guard on a really good team.  Tyler still ends up on Boston, I think.

 I think no one doubts the potential and capability of some of these guys like Selby or Tyler, the overall feeling must be that they need a year and unfortunately, the teams that need help are unwilling to say to their fans "Hey, we are going to suck this year so we can wait for some guys to mature" because of ticket sales etc. Terrible teams look for guys who can bring a little hope to their franchise, while the good teams want to find a person to add to their rotation. A lot of these teams whom are getting older, look like they could benefit from a guy who will be good down the road, they always seem to wait a year too long and let their rosters get depleted. I’d like to see a team like San Antonio or Boston grab a younger/potential type, plan for the future instead of roster overhauls.
