Every year there’s a major surprise on draft night. Every year there’s a team that had a player higher on its board than any of us knuckleheads thought.

Give me something that none of the mocks have that might be that one major, "HUH?!" moment of the 2011 draft.

Here are some possibilities for me:

    • Utah uses No. 3 overall on Jimmer Fredette
    • Someone at the end of the lottery falls in love with Shelvin Mack’s ability in the clutch, maturity, strength, and poise (maybe Houston at 14?)
    • Donatas drops to the late 40s or early 50s
    • A playoff team trades into the top 8 and REALLY shakes up the draft

Josh Harrellson gets picked in the first round!

Nah j/k I believe he will be drafted though due to the lack of big men. Can’t add him to my draft though because he don’t have a profile.

Harrellson getting drafted at all would be a surprise, but I think he could provide quality backup minutes and hustle in practice.  That is good enough for the second round.

I love the element on surprise, but at least make your predictions reasonable. Selecting Jimmer 3rd is simply not reasonable. If they loved him that much, they’d trade down to at least get some value out of the pick.

Shevin Mack could sneak into the first round, but the lottery might be too big of a reach.

    Here’s a reasonable one:

Alec Burks, who has been crowned the best shooting guard in the draft since this process has begun, gets drafted closer to 20 than he does to 10. I like Klay Thompson, Jordan Hamilton, Chris Singleton and Marshon Brooks to get drafted before Burks.

but seriously Vesely moving into the top 2-3

Im honestly always more interested on who will make the "I wasnt invited but im damn sure coming to the stage" team.

I think the lakers are going to stir some things up maybe with a trade/ moving players/ moving up in the draft.

Not sure but I feel like there going to shake things up after that disaster at the end of the seaon.

Singleton, Burks, Klay Thompson break the top 10.

Kawhi Leonard drops to late lottery.

    Jimmer misses lottery.

i’m sure not the first surprise and likely not a surprise at all.  The Bulls trade one of their 2 first rd picks.  I would love for GarPax to put together a package and move up if they have a SG high on their board.  I would also love for them to put a package together to get a vet SG but I suspect their move will be to trade down.

My surprise move is Jimmer sliding and Honeycutt getting picked earlier then anyone thinks.

I think the biggest surprise will be Charlotte doing something completely stupid with the 9th pick, if you remember a few years back, they passed on Brook Lopez when they had a completely gaping hole at the 5 spot and took a PG to backup Ray Felton (Dj Augustin)

MJ Brown — Trading back is easier said than done. Sometimes it’s easier to just take the guy you like when you have a pick. How is No. 3 that unreasonable when Jimmer is guaranteed to be gone by No. 7? Utah knows it can’t get Jimmer at No. 12. It already has a slew of bigs and wing players: Jefferson, Millsap, Favors, Hayward. I think what they’re missing is scoring punch, outside shooters to stretch the floor to create space for Jefferson, Millsap, and Favors to go to work, and some headlines to put fans in the seats. Plus, Devin Harris is only 28, but he wasn’t really Utah’s guy. He was just the easiest way to get Deron Williams out of town when they knew they had to get him out of town.

Taylor Condrin — Robin Lopez got passed up in minutes by Marcin Gortat as well as Garret Siller in Phoenix last year. DJ Augustin played extremely well, giving Charlotte a solid 14 points and six assists. They made the right move there.

Taylor — My bad. I thought you said Robin, not Brook. Good point. You’re right.
