I’ve ranked the top shooting guards in the past few drafts and this one is the weakest group of the last couple of years. There are some good players in this group but nobody stands out especially since the first 3 SG’s were never even close to playing in the NCAA tournament in college during their careers. There’s some combo guards here who could also play the point(like Burks, Lee, and Jenkins) but I see them more as 2’s so thats why they are here. Here’s the list:

    1. Alec Burks  6’6  Colorado
    2. Klay Thompson  6’7  Washington St.
    3. Marshon Brooks  6’5  Providence
    4. David Lighty  6’6  Ohio St.
    5. Travis Leslie  6’4  Georgia
    6. Charles Jenkins  6’3  Hofstra
    7. Malcolm Lee  6’5  UCLA
    8. Iman Shumpert  6’5  Georgia Tech
    9. Ravern Johnson  6’6  Mississippi St.
    10. Jon Diebler  6’6  Ohio St.
    11. Josh Selby  6’3  Kansas
    12. LaceDarius Dunn  6’4  Baylor
    13. E’twaun Moore  6’4   Purdue
    14. Xavi Rabaseda  6’6  Spain
    15. DeAndre Liggins  6’6  Kentucky
    16. Justin Hurtt  6’4  Tulsa
    17. Cam Long  6’4  George Mason
    18. Steven Gray  6’4  Gonzaga
    19. Jeremy Hazell  6’5  Seton Hall
    20. Austin Freeman  6’4  Georgetown

I like Diebler. He can be a good role player off the bench and knock down the 3. He presents good value in the late second round. I’m not sold on Selby as he showed very little at Kansas. A few years back I remember having Wesley Matthews 20 on this list so don’t count out the bottom half of these guys.

Hamilton can be either position but his big frame( 6’8, 230) and sub-par quickness(for an NBA SG) makes him a SF in my book.

Finally some one who agrees that diebler is good and that Selby aint crap.Diebler shot 50% from 3 and is 6’6 .Selby beraly even played at Kansas (while basically everyone else on this list started at there college) and he is a tweener

I think down the road well see that brooks was the best two gaurd in the draft his trainer compares him to kobe wich i kno probably is far fetched but a poor mans kobe is still one of best players in this draft.

Why do you have David Lighty as the number 4 SG in this draft and ahead of players listed 5-9 especially?? Lighty is at best a mid to likely late second round pick. He’s a good defender but thats just about it and I’d take Liggins, who you have 15th, 10 times out of 10 over Lighty (and I HATE Kentucky where Liggins played).

You have the top 3 right but I’d move Lighty way down and move Liggins, Dunn, and Moore up higher. Shumpert is gonna be the steal of this draft IMO but I think he’ll play more PG than SG.

I also just realized TimboSlice’s comment that you dont have Hopson in the top 20…He should be in the top 10 of this list.
