nateoak10Participanthttp://twitter.com/#!/DraftExpress/status/82058145962278912 That’d have to move ahead of GSW since they seem to be favoring him , can they do it?

MagikKnickParticipantDont see it getting done, moving in the top would be hard..the assets we’d have to give up wouldnt be worth it…not to mention the Knicks lack assets to begin with..
And its not like Biyombo is proven, hes a very risky pick, why give up so much for a guy who might not even pan out?

TheLastWordParticipantThey don’t have much in the way of assets. It would probably take Landry Fields.

Johnny ChillI dont see the Warriors looking to take Biyombo since they just drafted Udoh last year. But Biyombo would be a nice defensive player for the Knicks to pair with Amare.

R-Dot-13ParticipantI dont see the warriors taking him either for that same reason Chill said.
I don’t think Biyombo gets past the Rockets though.

bigdaddybluesmanParticipantThis guy is a second round pick or a late first round pick to be developed by a good team willing to take a chance and hide him like the Spurs do. He has NO offensive skills at all. Any team that drafts him lower than the late 20s is crazy. The Knicks….LOL….in D’Antoni’s system you must be able to shoot otherwise his system does not work that well. IMO his system stinks because he does not stress defense, his offensive system is good if played correctly and a player who does not shoot well can be used but he MUST pass well. Biyombo cannot do either. Giving up Fields who has size, a shot and a game with a good future and who can only get better would be stupid.

BKKnicksfanParticipantHonestly, I hope we can get him. I think he could be the perfect compliment to Amar’e Stoudemire. I think he’s Theo Ratliff 2.0. I also think we can move up if Milwaukee wants to dump a salary on us.
10th pick and John Salmons for the 17th pick, 3 mil cash and Ronny Turiaf

OhCanada-ParticipantHow is he going to be a good player next to Amare? They are running Dantoni’s system! His flaws would get exposed so much you would think your looking at a Blake Griffin/Timofey Mosgov poster.

OhCanada-ParticipantI dont like your trade BKKnicksfan. Youll have to explain in detail that one to me. New York gets a very capable SG who is borderline Allstar when playing his best, they get a 10th overall pick to draft Biyambo, and they give up a 17th pick and Ronnie Turiaf who Biyambo actaully projects to play alot like. That deal makes no sense at all for Milwaukee.

BKKnicksfanParticipantLet me say this before the negatives come: THAT’S A EXAMPLE OF A DEAL, NOT A DEAL I THINK WOULD HAPPEN. IF THE BUCKS DID THAT, I THINK THEY’D THROW GOODEN BACK TO NY
Anyway, they are running D’Antoni’s system for one more season, in a shorten season. Also, I think he’s athletic as well, that’s something the Knicks thrive on in his system. With Billups, Anthony and Stoudemire, that’s at least 50-80 points a night, so all Biyombo has to do is grab rebounds, get blocks, play good post defense and get those garbage baskets.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantI could see the knicks making a move to try to get Jimmer,
not sure about Biyambo,
sounds like the disinformation part of the process has started to me,

MagikKnickParticipantI Dont See Biyombo In ‘Antoni’s system as a problem…
On a team with Melo, STAT, and Billups he wont be asked to score..
Ronny Turiaf was our C for the majority of the season last season, he’ll have the same role

scoutguruParticipantI don’t think we should be trading up for anyone. First of all I think there’s a chance Biyombo will be there when we select. Every year there’s a guy that slides somewhat, 4rm where they were projected to go (even though for him I wouldn’t call that slipping, but thats a story for another thread).
And dependent upon how the draft will unfold, any number of the following players may be available, and at 17, thus we’d still be in a position to get a impact player which is not bad considering the perceived weakness of this draft. If we take b.p.a. we should be fine. I’ll list a few… (i should mention, though he may be gone, Singleton should be our main target, if he’s still on the board, we should turn in our card immediately; i’ve been saying this since the draft process started and caught a lot of flack for it, don’t know why).
1. Vucevic – We can stand to use a solid big man. A good C prospect with starting potential. With what nba teams ask of their bigs nowadays, he can be a good pick up for us. Some say its a lil of a reach, a thought which I think is crazy at 17, how many other Center prospects are out there at this point and how many other great players would be left, so I don’t think it would be. And like Chad Ford said, what really separates Kanter from Vucevic? Some scouts think not much…
2. Brooks – We’re in a position where depth is an issue. So if we can nab a guy who can come in for the second unit and be able to put points on the board, it’ll be extremely beneficial.
3. Hamilton – See Brooks, though I feel he has more immediate starting potential.

PulseGlazerParticipantBiyombo or Vucevic is perfect for the Knicks. With Amare, they just need a body to play D and protect the rim and they have a top 5 offensive efficiency, so there’s no reason at all to worry about that end since they can’t do less than Turiaf. Cheap bigs who can develop (D’Antoni can develop bigs, incase you missed him help everyone from Amare to Diaw grow while in Phoenix) should be EXACTLY what the Knicks are looking for. I fully expect them to get Paul (wedding toast and all) and with Paul, Melo and Amare, a good young big and Fields… that’s a serious TEAM, not just big 3, with players who all fill various roles effectively.
