What happen to Darius Morris?

Not really sure, but if you’ve noticed most other mock drafts have him going a lot lower. I still think he goes somewhere in the late teens-early 20’s, but we’ll see I guess.

I don’t think he will be drafted that high… I still like him in the early 20’s

 Apparently he had a great workout with the Knicks and now they’re worried he won’t be there for them to grab.

He’s 6’5" and supposedly the lone "pure" point guard in this draft; and he’s 20. In a weak draft I guess they just feel team’s may reach for him.

I have never heard of a player being good enough to go #17 and not #14.

With a weak point guard crop this year, it will completely come down to a teams need. Kemba, Jimmer, Knight and Irving are all predicted lottery picks (with the exception of Jimmer, but he very well might go in the top 14). If a team thinks that they are in dire need of a point guard,they might select Morris due to lack of better options. But if a team decides to go with best talent on the board he could slide down the draft very quickly. I think he is the one player who will be all over the board. I think the assesment of being in the late teens is correct. He is so big, smooth and can pass so well, i dont see him slipping any further. Jump shot is the easiest skill to improve (Jason Kidd is the perfect example of that). I am very interested to see where he lands.

A team in desperate need of a point guard isn’t going to grab Morris. He is 20 years old and while there is undeniable promise to a pass first point, it is still a 20-year old who was far from perfect last year. If a team has a good veteran point guard (say Phoenix with Nash and New York with Billups), they might see value in grabbing Morris this year and allowing him a year or two to have that extra learning curve.

I don’t really care where Morris goes because he will be better than quite a few people taken ahead of him.  I expect him to become a solid/good starter.

Just look at his increase from Freshman to sophmore years. Kids got the mold to work with. nice potential and is consitently looking to get others involved. Even if he does sometimes dribble the air out of the ball.

he could go to any 5-8th playoff team who is looking for a decent backup pg – thats the way i think he is viewed – a good backup to a quality pg and he might develop into a decent starter eventually

Or he can be in a situation where he doesn’t get much playing time or he might not improve enough to be even a rotation player and be outta the league or barely a rotation player. I’m just sayin…he certainly didn’t blow anyone (at least me) away with his play this past year. I didn’t watch him and say "this guy is a no brainer pro." He was solid, showed good improvement, but still there’s a lot of questions. There are always gonna be busts/disappointments in a given draft. He may be one…he may not…

 well….he was a LOTTO PICK for 2 days…niccccce….LOL…back at #23 to the ROCKETS…I like that pick better than at #14 to ROCKETS.

He’s perfect for the Rockets.  They absolutely don’t need scoring and he can help guard 2’s since Kevin is weak defensively.  The Knicks, with Toney Douglas, really should be going big, no matter how much they like Morris.
