He was injured all year and did not play a part in the Mavs Championship…

But when he comes back next year what do you think of his potential?
I think he’s shown in games what he will be capable of doing in this league and him coming back next year will make the Mavericks just that much better.

What do you guys think of him?

A good player with upside.  I wouldn’t mess up team chemistry so he probably won’t start.  Might be the 4th small guard behind Kidd, Terry, and Barea.  If I were the Mavs I would try to fill him in somewhere then give him more minutes when Kidd and Terry quit.  The Mavs can still contend for another year or two so they might have to play him limited minutes until they blow the team up and rebuild.  They don’t really need to trade him since they have great depth at every other position (and could add a power forward in the draft to go along with Cardinal off the bench).  They might want to play Kidd for 25 minutes a night, Terry for 25 minutes a night with Barea and Beaubois each getting around 15-18 minutes a night.  Then play Caron Butler at small forward off the bench for around 25 minutes a night with Stevenson getting 15 as a defensive stopper.  Dirk for 35, Marion for 30, Chandler for 30, and Haywood for 15 with Cardinal getting around 5-10 minutes a night.

    Damn, that’s a deep team!!!

He can score for sure. But him not being a PG at all, and the fact that he struggles on D a bit despite his physical and athletic tools. If Dallas lets Barea walk (which looked less and less likely every time he played), he will see good time. Beaubois might be the odd man out though if they don’t let Barea go, so I could see him getting dealt next year.

Beaubois was injured all year for the Mavs but been cleared to play in the first round of the playoff, but with the great bball J.J Barea did, Rick Carlisle have decided to go with Kidd and Barea only. If Kidd retire or Barea leave, yes Beaubois could have an impact on Mavs next year. But for me, he’s future is attached to  when Kidd will decide to ”call it a career”

     Mavs are not trading Beaubois.

Mark Cuban said just a couple of years  ago he wouldnt trade him for Chris Bosh

I think if he didnt get injured this year he would have maybe been the starting SG iver Stevenson..

Unfortunetly he did so he has to work his way back up. He he obviously has talent and I think when Kidd is retire he will take over the starting pg or the starting sg job

He’s small, but long enough to cover 2’s.  If the injuries slow down, he can be a star.  At worst, he should be the next Jason Terry and he can essentially be Iverson-esque.

As a Mavs fan I am a big fan of him
he is athletic, long who can shoot the ball, very quick and can score the ball easily
that said he has a low BBIQ and he messes the team chemistry
Most Mavs fans think we have seen Barea last game with the team,he earned himself a pay rise that we might not be able to match and having Roddy will make it easier to let him go,so I expect Beaubois to take Barea role next year and while he will struggle at first, I think he will get better with time

They need to keep him and Barea.  Resign Haywood and Butler and/or Stevenson.

They didn’t need Caron Butler this year but they could probably use him next year.

Stevenson might be a guy on teams’ radar.  I think the Knicks could use him.  Maybe the Bulls too.
