cbeckermanParticipantwhy not have an opt in service like facebook for posts? that way we can decide who we want to hear opinions from and who we dont. I am positive a lot of people on this site dont actually read what some of thier fellow posters write but they decide wether the post has merit based upon the user who wrote it. I have heard multiple times people suggesting or wanting me to leave this site for good which I have no intention of because I enjoy it just as much as others do. if you dont like my posts this idea would make it where you dont have to read them. aran could even make money this way as he could charge like 5.00 a month for 25 or 50 posts that went directly onto the site. I happen to think not reading posts is a much better idea than not reading a post and giving people a thumbs down just because you dont like them, this site is supposed to be about basketball not a posters popularity contest.

cap777ParticipantThe entire point of this site is to have a free forum where people can share their points of view on different matters. As soon as money gets involved the community will die out because the forum will become less appealing. Also if you limit which users have the ability to post it becomes more of a blog.
I personally like it as is. We don’t need points we can just have healthy intellectual conversations now.

cbeckermanParticipantI dont care for the yakass known as tongue out like so he wouldnt want to read my posts and I wouldnt want him to read them. in my system you get to decide if you want to read a posters comments and they would get to decide if you want them reading theirs.

JNixonParticipantMoney shouldn’t be involved. It’s fine the way it is. And please KILL these points related threads. Aran said they are coming back, and that it’s just a technical thing. BE PATIENT

cbeckermanParticipantjust to increase your readers.

JoeWolf1How about if you don’t want to read someone’s post you just don’t.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:11am #544282

mikeyvthedonParticipantI like it here because it is free. As much as I love writing, I would prefer doing it for free rather than paying to do it. Meanwhile, there are plenty of pay sites that would be glad to have you. Why not just post relevant basketball material and not worry about a point system or what other malcontent posters say about you? If you decide you do not like someone, stop reading what they write. If it bothers you and you feel it is influencing others, the odds are the others did not need influencing.

KDThunder35ParticipantI think the points need to be back because there are a lot of off topic posts and posts that are not worth reading. I feel the point system somewhat helped you decipher from useful information and useless information for the most part (only time its a person with a lot of points and useless information is usually McDunkin, which I avoid reading anything he posts already). I catch myself reading a lot of thoughts without a lot of substance or just ridiculous trades and explanations.
Please bring the system back for that part alone. All those trying to be serious about hoops get pimped because some immature people always complaining about points. I just want help so I can read better basketball information.

What exactly is a yakass?

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participant"he wouldnt want to read my posts and I wouldnt want him to read them"
But.. but… I LOVE killing your stupid and pointless trade threads involving Miami and trading away Wade or LeBron…

0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:36am #544295

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI told him to follow the advice of his username, "Silence is golden", after he posted some horrible LeBron / Wade trade scenarios.
Poor dude.. never stood a chance..
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:38am #544301
cbeckermanParticipantcertanitly it wasnt an intellectual debate – I would be opponentless if it was between us
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:41am #544302

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYes, of course.. because trading Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin for Dwyane Wade is a fantastic trade! I’m sure Miami would do it in a heart beat! Heck, they should have done it last season and thrown in a couple of first round picks and Michael Beasley so Houston would accept it for sure! That way, Miami would have easily beat Dallas in the NBA Finals this season!
Great job! Your intellectual ability amazes me!
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:45am #544306
cbeckermanParticipantthan the most respected sports networks trade system, since your so egotistical why dont you call them up and say hey your systems broken but I who am not involved in the world of professional sports but a know it all can design a better system for you good luck with that!
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:48am #544308

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantNo respected sports network in the right mind would design a trade as atrocious as that one. Not at all.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:50am #544309
cbeckermanParticipantthis is because miamis current point guard is soo much better than kyle lowry- whatcha smoking I need some.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:51am #544310

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYes, LeBron James is much better than Kyle Lowry.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:53am #544312
cbeckermanParticipantjames is a small forward not a point guard.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:53am #544313

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWait a minute, that’s your reasoning?! Lowry is better than Chalmers? That’s why you’re giving up a franchise player for a chucker and a decent PG? Wow… that’s just sad.
Well, in that case, the Lakers should trade Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum for Bosh, Miller, and Chalmers. Simply because Chalmers is much better than Derek Fisher.
Get real kid..
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:54am #544314

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHave you watched any Heat games at all? Who brings the ball up and makes the plays? LeBron or Wade. Therefore, they are untraditional point guards. Remember Miami runs Wade-Miller-James-Bosh-Haslem as their closing lineup?
Yeah, no point guard there.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:57am #544316
cbeckermanParticipantis that you dont like k-mart for some reason. the production of k-mart and lowry would meet or beat the production of wade. you dont like my opinion but i dont like yours and neither one of us can prove anything so maybe just lay off it DOG
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 10:59am #544317
cbeckermanParticipantjames is still the small forward wade becomes the pg
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:01am #544319

JoeWolf1I don’t wanna get too involved in your guys fight, but this comment about trade machine had to be addressed.
"than the most respected sports networks trade system, since your so egotistical why dont you call them up and say hey your systems broken but I who am not involved in the world of professional sports but a know it all can design a better system for you good luck with that! "
I just traded Ben Gordon and Rodney Stuckey for Lebron James, trade machine is a joke, just because you can make it happen doesn’t mean it’s legit.

0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:04am #544320
cbeckermanParticipantin my original thread that according to the trade machine both teams would marginally improve and I also suggested mia- houston swap picks for a first rounder.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:06am #544322

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’m a Houston Rockets fan, therefore you saying that I dislike Martin/Lowry is ridiculous.
The combination of Lowry and Martin would meet or beat Wade’s production? Yeah, there’s a reason why Houston hasn’t made the playoffs the last two seasons.
Wade scores easier than Lowry/Martin, he rebounds better, he passes better. He’s a go to guy. He can take over games. He plays tremendous defense on-ball and off-ball, which Lowry/Martin both lack. He’s a franchise player. He’s a champion. Multiple time all-star. Gold medal winner.
Now, what have Lowry and Martin done?
Exactly.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:12am #544326
cbeckermanParticipantthe rockets have barely missed the playoffs the last two years. kevin martin was considered a snub for the all stars this year. if you would look lowrys assists are higher than wades. I am not convinced that if wade/chalmers played lowry/k-mart wade would win.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:25am #544336

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participant"I am not convinced that if wade/chalmers played lowry/k-mart wade would win."
I’m not even going to bother with that statement.. you just made yourself look like a fool
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:28am #544337
cbeckermanParticipantback it up with facts
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:34am #544342
cbeckermanParticipantconsidering who he plays with and the time he gets his stats are pathetic. wade/chalmers vs lowry/k-mart would quickly break down into wade vs lowry-kmart who shouldnt he guard?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:43am #544351

JJeff6ParticipantYo Chalmers is a little thief on defense, quick hands. In that matchup hed have Lowry on lockdown and Wade would have Kmart on lock down. not even close bro.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:48am #544352

McDunkinI dont even want points to come back
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 11:57am #544361
NYFLAVA2K9ParticipantYay! Another points thread… I didn’t even notice there was a points system until like a month ago. Its that important to me… And not to choose sides or nothing, but trading possibly one of the greatest championship caliber team number one options ever (Wade), for a 3rd option at best on a champion (Martin), and an 8th in the rotation at best on a champion (Lowry) isn’t a very good trade at all for Miami.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/13/2011 - 12:08pm #544371
NYFLAVA2K9ParticipantLowry may start for Houston.. But he’d be the 8th man for the Grizzlies… True story.. Kevin Martin is a great scorer and underrated… but the rest of his game is mediocre at best… Dwayne Wade will lead teams to championships with or without Bron and Bosh.. Proven
