That is pretty jokes. They did indeed, can not say I am thrilled about it, but I am not at all taking it like the end of the world. LeBron James will surely have a different career path than many of the great players, and I personally saw very little way he would reach Jordan, or even Kobe, but I still think he and Dwyane Wade are pretty amazing players. If the Heat stay healthy next year, than watch out.

Compeletely agree. I saw someone on here say the other day that they though Lebron would end up with a career similiar to Julius Erving and I can see that; Like Dr J he will go down as a legend, a breathtaking athlete, a physical speciman and a statsheet stuffer. He’ll probably win another MVP or two and I still think he’ll win a couple championships when all is said and done but I don’t think he will go down as one of the 5 or maybe even 10 greatest players of all time. Something which a couple years ago I would have thought inevitable.

I mean, talking about it now, LeBron has still had one of the more impressive careers out there. If you were to rank players, he would definitely be in the top 30 at this point, and more than likely the top 20. As would Dwyane Wade and Dirk Nowitzki, at least top 30 or close to top 20. But, despite all of LeBron’s noted short comings, it is incredible what winning a ring does. If he wins multiple rings, it will mean even more. People can discredit it all they want because of who he had on his team, and they could say that the same thing would never happen to Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, but I do not think they can be certain that is true. Even if they are, I do not think he will surpass them, but his career will look incredibly impressive, which you can bank on.

I was saying to my brother today that he basically has equalled the greatest feats Karl Malone made in the NBA, over a much shorter period of time. Karl Malone is definitely a top 20, if not close to top 20 player. He is the second leading scorer in NBA history, had 12 2000 point seasons (11 in a row) and won 2 MVP’s and made 3 Finals (one being on the Lakers, which I almost forgot about). LeBron has 7 2000 point seasons in a row, made 2 MVP’s and made 2 Finals. He has also made the same number of All-Defensive First Teams the Mailman did over his entire career, is averaging 27.7 ppg over his career and 28 ppg in the play-offs. Karl Malone is at an incredibly impressive 25 ppg, and I would guess that by the time LeBron’s career is through he could be barely above him, and 24.7 in the play-offs. The funny thing about the play-off scoring though, is that Karl Malone’s shooting percentage of 46.3 is incredibly similar to LeBron’s 46 even. Karl Malone still goes down as one of the best to ever do it, and if LeBron keeps things up, I have a feeling we might be more willing to open up the top 10 for reconsideration.
