Does anyone else think the finals format of 2-3-2 is a bit unfair and negates "home court advantage"?

I by no means am a Heat fan, but still Game 5 should’ve been played in Miami.

    Thoughts?

I think it really hurts the home team. I dont understand why they do it. Having games 3 and 5 at home are huge.

I think the hockey playoff format is pretty fair, I believe it is 2-2-1-1-1

It made sense 25yrs ago,not anymore. Its unfair to the home team. Only Miami in 06′ and Pistons in 04′ win all 3 at home. Its tough to ask any team to be a team in the finals 3 straight games

Having the chance to have the last 2 games on their home court. Yes, they would have rather won this game I am sure, but than they would fly to Dallas for a Game 6 instead of back home. This way, their is only two times you have to travel. I honestly think that the 2-3-2 has worked pretty damn well in the Finals, and really have no qualms with it. Teams that lose series may, but I think that Miami still definitely has a home court advantage, like the Lakers did last year when they were down 3-2 after leaving Boston.

I know it may sound rediculous but I really think they should have neutral court all the way out in Hawaii and whatever fans come Heat or Mavs thats who they support and then there is no homecourt advantage in the finals. And it is in the summer so people will wanna go .

Very true Mikeyvthedon the Lakers did benefit from it as have other teams but not every series goes 7 games therefore it can be said to be unfair, lets say a series goes 6 games, essentially the two teams both played an equal amount of games at home, it can be argued that a team who busts their butts in the regular season should deserve a better more fair format to benefit their hard work from the regular season.

This is not even allowed in the season! If they called 3 second defense on Dallas everytime the just stand in the paint this shit would of been over by now. They eliminate the ability of guys to get of the bounce to get to the rim. See When knows he can Stand all Day in the Key like (Tyson Chandler)  their is nothing you can do. I rate the Mavs they make some amazing shot over the Heats defense but they are only winning because of the Zone defense period.

If your championship material, you could score on any defense,  and HOLD A LEAD CRUNCH TIME. Making excuses of playing zone defense is lame. If played right any team could break a zone d, especially if you have 2 ultra athletic guards, a post that can hit from the outside and a pg thats a decent set shooter from the outside.

I like how you say the Mavs are only winning because of the zone d-fense but the Mavs havent used the zone in the last 4 or 5 minutes of any of the games and thats were the Mavs have been winning there games
