TRC1991ParticipantAlright I’ve conjured up some ideas…Let me know what you guys think:
1) http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6azv6lz
Toronto Receives: Omer Asik, CJ Watson, Chicago’s 1st round pick (#28)
Charlotte Receives: Andrea Bargnani, John Lucas
Chicago Receives: Stephen Jackson
Why?
Toronto gets: Toughness in the paint, plus a big man who seems to be improving immensely, and another 1st round pick
Charlotte gets: The perfect player to pair with a defensive-minded big like Tyrus Thomas
Chicago gets: The perfect shooting guard to pair with Derrick Rose
————————————————————————————————
2) http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3neysv2
LA Clippers receive: Marvin Williams, Zaza Pachulia
Atlanta receives: Chris Kaman
Why?
This trade makes perfect sense…Marvin Williams needs a fresh start, and LAC good be a great place for him to fit in at the 3 spot. Pachulia adds depth to the 5 spot…Atlanta can go big and move Horford to the 4 and then put Josh Smith at the 3
———————————————————————————————–
3) http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3c4wab6
Denver receives: Jordan Hill and Marqus Blakely
Houston receives: Timofey Mozgov
Why? Denver is losing K-Mart to free agency, Hill can come in and either start right away or provide depth at the 4…Houston gets that center of the future and they can use their 1st round pick on either a PG or SF of the future

mikeyvthedonParticipant1) You must hate Toronto. The odds of the #28 pick helping the Raps out are stacked against them, and as much as Asik is a better rebounder than Bargnani, he is not the aswer to our woes in the paint. Chicago obviously gets the most out of the deal while giving up the least, so, I think that is a no go.
2) The Clippers just drafted a guy in Al-Farouq Aminu who is probably a better fit than Williams, not to mention his contract. I can see them wanting to unload Kaman, but I think they can do better. Again, this works for the team closer to contending much more so than the team that really needs help.
3) Timofey Mozgov is definitely more "back-up Center of the future" than "center of the future". I would rather keep Jordan Hill, and honestly I think Hasheem Thabeet has more potential to be a solution at C than Mozgov. This trade is definitely your most plausible, but still I think it favors the better team a tad too much.
Basically, these trades would be great if you wanted to screw a couple teams royally, but as trades that make sense for both sides, something is missing.
Once again, to show people what draft picks may be valued as I will add this chart that constantly seems to be disregarded:

Indeed, your trades are a lot better than most, but seem to be more ways to make good teams better and bad teams worse.

rileymcshea3ParticipantSo your trading Bargannis 21 point for Asiks 3 points and C.J Watson who wont get minutes with Calderon and Bayless there?

TRC1991Participant@mikeyvthedon…
"screw a couple of teams royally" was the phrase you used, im not sure which team(s) your referring to? i think you’re just nit-picking because you have a critical nature

mikeyvthedonParticipantYes, I do have a critical nature, but I do not think I am nit picking at all. You screw Toronto, the Clipps and the Rockets my friend. Plus, if you are talking about my criticizing of your statistics, I actually really liked those, I was just trying to give you an idea of how to maybe make them more accurate. You see them as fair, but you even tend to lean more to one team when you write the synopsis. I think you have a good start here, and they are in the 99th percentile of trades here (which is a compliment), but I still feel like these trades were very much slanted to help better teams get better, more so than helping both teams. I do not think I was alone in this belief, though it could just be because other people are critical @sses.
