finding a trade offer for Michael Beasley

The Cavs better be taking D. Williams 1st. Williams is the best prospect, in my opinion. Irving won’t workout against anyone and didn’t even participate in athletic testing. He measured at 10.4 percent body fat, etc. I don’t think Irving’s turf toe is healed and his agent is trying to hide the fact that he isn’t as quick or athletic as he was before the injury. I’m sure he’ll recover, but i wouldn’t risk no. 1 on him. I’d take Williams and grab Knight or Walker at 4. It would be by far the smarter move. So, I don’t see the scenario playing out the way you do.

But that brings up the question of what the wolves do at 2. Take Irving and trade one or more likely two PGs for veteran talent, or take Kanter, who could be a franchise center one day?

Irving and his people think he’s much better than he really is…He’s at the Draft Lottery like he’s Shaq or Lebron..No team there was holding their team jersey with Irving’s name on the back….

With Cleveland taking Irving and Valanciunas, sources have told them the Cavs will take Jonas Valanciunas or Bismack Biyombo, and to a lesser extent Enes Kanter with the 4th pick.  Probably smoke screen for someone a pick or two after them that wants one of those players over Kanter.

T-Wolves should take Kanter if Derrick Williams is gone.  That would give them a good front line of Kanter, Love, and Beasley. 3 guys who can score and rebound.  I think they should run a half-court game utilizing semi-fast breaks with Ricky Rubio.  They just need a few more athletic swing men and shooters and they would be set.  The Grizzlies did a lot of damage with Z Bo and Marc Gasol.  No reason why the T-Wolves duo of Love and Kanter can’t be similar. 

They need to pick Kanter at two to give them the front line of the future, then pray that Marshon Brooks is there at 20.  If he is not then they might want to take Shelvin Mack or another scorer.

Minnesota gets a veteran Sf and back in the 2012 draft…my second offer is Evan Turner and the 16th pick for Michelangelo Beasley and the 2nd pick…

The best answer for the Wolves is to draft Kanter at 2. He may not be the best available but he fits best with their team. We also know that David Kahn is a bit mysterious in his draft picks. He has some pretty unique opinions of his current team and some draft prospects. We’ve heard that he thinks Darko is the next Vlade and that his passing is superb. (According to him) This would lead me to believe that he likes Darko so much that he is not willing to draft Kanter, even though he may very well be better than Darko is and a better fit for the team, because he wants Darko to develop and he may think that Kanter may stunt Darko’s development. (So he doesn’t want to take the risk.)

With all this being said, and the already talented Beasley who plays very similar to Williams, and Rubio coming over, taking over the spot that Irving would normally play; leads me to believe that he (David Kahn who represents the Wolves) will select the best player available. whether or not that is a particular need, and look to trade the pick immediately. This would mean that the Wolves would take either Williams or Irving, whoever the Cavs do not take with their first pick.

Minnesota may very well start out all the draft trades with the second pick.

The team that takes Wiliams over Irving will seriously regret that move. Irving will be a very good starting PG for the next 10 years, and Williams is a combo forward. PG’s with scoring and passing skills will ALWAYS be more important than combo forwards who score and are only OK on D and on the glass.

The PG position is far more in demand than a 3/4 combo forward, I’d think Irving would hold more trade value on that alone.

Talented wing players and talented big men win championships.  If the Cavs can get both Derrick Williams and Enes Kanter then they would be building the same way that other championship teams have been built.

Chris Paul and Derron Williams have yet to win anything.  The best three players in this year’s Finals are all wings/bigs with LeBron, Dirk, and Wade.  Jason Kidd is playing well but he is TWICE the age of Kyrie Irving.  Young point guards don’t win, veterans do.  … Shawn Marion and Chris Bosh have also played well and are big difference makers.

Trade Beasley to Sacremento so they can have even more immature players that can fight each other.

To answer the forum’s initial question, this is what I would do with a Beasley trade:

Minny: Beasley

NJ: Travis Outlaw/#27/#36/Future

The Nets are surely looking to stock up on some talent, and they are especially weak at both forward positions. Yes, Outlaw is overpaid, but he fits the veteran profile that they are hunting for, and can be a reliable backup. The two picks provide flexibility and additional options for Minny, and in ridding themselves of Outlaw’s contracts, the Nets are glad to get Beasley back as well. They’ll probably have to send another future pick as well, do they have any late round type pick coming up in the future? And yes, I understand that they already sent numerous picks to Utah, but in clearing Outlaw now, they recieve just as much benefit as doing so desperately before the 2012 free agent frenzy, (if the new CBA isn’t radically different). Plus, they get Beasley, who under Johnson’s strong will and in playing with a PG like Williams, will likely continue to blossom.
