What if the Bulls traded their 28/30 pick (or both), Omer Asik, and Ronnie Brewer to the Bobcats to get the 9th pick, Matt Carroll, and Eduardo Najera. This way, the Bulls could move up far enough in the draft to get a top 10 talent, select  Alec Burks, who is the best shooting guard in this draft all around. Drafting him would fill their biggest need in that shooting guard position while also getting a guy that can create his own shot (unlike many of the other players on that roster) and has the potential to develop really well along with Derrick Rose. I think this trade works for the Bulls because like I said before with getting Alec Burks, but also they would get two players that can knock down open shots and that also have enough experience to mentor some of the younger guys. This works out on both ends because for the Bobcats, MJ is really trying to dismantle that team and start over with the few pieces he likes. Adding two young players (especially ones that have potential to be good like Asik) would definitely help their cause in rebuilding while also getting two draft picks to go after some quality guys in the draft. How would this trade sound if it were to be made on draft day?

i think while this is a good idea they would need burks or Rose to be more consistent shooters.

With the Bulls having two late first round picks, they may have a trade up option but that could only take them maybe to where the Knicks pick for example and I could not see two big Eastern teams doing a trade unless it was really mutually favourable to each.

I do wonder if the Bulls will take BPA with 28th pick and get a proven guy and possibly look to offload the 30th pick for the max $3 million. That way they still draft one young piece but could then use the $3 million to sign a couple of quality veterans and with the league paying a percentage of veteran’s minimum then they get players and save money.

The Bobcats do owe the Bulls a pick from the Tyrus Thomas trade and after next year it’s protection starts decreasing from lottery protected to unprotected by 2016 so the Bobcats may be keen to get this back if there was no-one they really fancied with the 9th pick this year so maybe the Bulls could do something there.

I think Klay Thompson would be the best fit for Chicago, I think he’s a great player who could get open and alot of open looks opposite Derrick Rose.

as good of a SG that burks is, they need someone who is a sniper and plays defense at the same time…bogans is below average at both, korver is just a sniper, and brewer just plays D

like the guy above me said, klay thompson or marshon brooks would be a better fit

I you stay at 28 and 30, you have two chances to get your man, although the level of talent may not be as high at 9. But at 9, you get one chance, plus you package a slasher in Ronnie Brewer (Remember how much the Celts missed Tony Allen, and Marquis Daniels when he got hurt, that is why they traded Perk for Green.), and a promising big man in Asik. It is a good idea, but it is hit or miss. If there was a surefire two guard in this years draft, then it would be possible with their assets, but not worth it this year.

I could see a trade between the Bulls and the Jazz.

Bulls get CJ Miles and the #12 pick and the Jazz get Asik and the #28 & #30 pick back.

Bulls could then get Thompson and you would have a solid shooter and an ok defender in Miles. The Jazz could then get some other pieces like Malcom Lee and Jeremy Tyler. I know that the Jazz would be loaded in the front court with Favors, Jefferson, Asik, Milsap, Tyler and Okur but it gives the Jazz options with their big men.

I honestly would love to see Marshon Brooks fall to 28 so the Bulls can select him.  Marshon is a proven scorer, can play defense, and has undoubtedly proven that he is a hard-worker.  I haven’t seen this kid enough to say whether or not his defense is average, but from what I’ve heard, I think he could be a dynamite SG in the future, simply because of his ability to score at will and even because of his work ethic.  However, I don’t see him falling this far.  I see him going from picks 15-22 range.  I put him on the Knicks, because a 2 guard is what the Knicks lack.  Let’s hope he falls to Chicago though.

Bulls need scoring,it doesn’t have to be a sg. They should take the bpa approach. I’ve felt that this years draft is better suited for playoff teams looking for rotation players. That trade makes the bulls smaller behind Noah, Brewer showed his value,he is a good option off the bench that can defend the better wings in the NBA and hold his own. Maybe a move with their picks and a player, but not their picks, and 2 of their top rotation players for a talented, but unproven player. They are too close for that

that would kill the bulls bench, who would be the back up center? Asik is a legit back up center

    My idea:

Bulls send Deng, 28, 30 and Brewer

Bobcats send: Jackson, 19th pick, and Carrol

Bulls: they get a shooting guard and draft a small forward like Tyler Honeycutt who would be a perfect fit with Rose

    Rose – Jackson – Honeycutt – Boozer – Noah

    Watson – Korver / Caroll – Richmond (2nd rnd) – Gibson – Asik

Bobcats: salary dump and replacement for Wallace

    Augistin – Lee(30) – Deng – Thomas – Tyler (28)

    Livingston – Henderson – Parsons (2nd rnd) – White – Diop

I’ve been thinking about the Bulls moving up to draft Alec Burks somehow, glad others think it’s a good idea.  Looking at the draft order, Charlotte seems like the logical trade partner if they want Burks.  If your deal comes to fruition it would have to be both 28 and 30, Asik, Brewer, and probably a future pick or two.  I like the idea, Burks would be a great fit next to Rose.

But if I was the Bobcats, I would prefer taking Korver than Brewer, they need 3 pt shooting and without Carroll, they would have nobody who fits better this role !

The Bulls dont NEED a "sniper" at the SG position. They simply need someone who can score and create offense, whether it is 2’s or 3’s. There is no way the Bulls can win a title if they rely on Rose to create all the offense and have no one else who can get their own shot on a regular basis. This is more important for the Bulls than a shooter. Someone like Burks or Brooks would be the best for this in the draft and I think JR Smith would fit in real well out of free agency.

Whichever way they go, I agree with D-Rose1. They need a player, no matter what position really, that can create his own shot. That was what they’ve been missing all year this year and it was definitely shown in the playoffs. They need someone besides Rose that can not just score, but can keep the offense going even when Rose is on the bench.

While I agree they need more snipers on their team that can help the offense get open looks when Rose drives and dishes.. But the thing is, he doesn’t pass out of his drives that often. Another guy I would like to see in a Bulls uniform next year would also be Jordan Hamilton. Their most obvious need is at SG.. and with how close they are to being elite, BPA is good.. But they need to draft for who they need first. If they can fill that hole, I think they can get to the conference finals again (and hopefully the NBA finals).
