Tim49461ParticipantI was thinking about this alot last night after someone pointed out that. If the Heat win then alot of veteran free agents will flock to Miami for cheap pay just to win a Championship. It got me thinking what free agents do you think they will get..
Just throwing a couple names of veterans that might consider it
Kenyon Martin
T-Mac
Yao?
Mike Redd
Jason Richardson
Anyone else?

canesboy6ParticipantI think J Rich and K Mart are still guys that people would pay to play. Not sure vet minimum is gonna cut it. Maybe we can sign and trade Miller for J Rich, but I like Miller so Id be okay if we stayed put mostly with the core and just got younger on the bench.

Tim49461ParticipantI do too. I was just looking through the list for impact players still. I really see T-mac going though and a slight chance of Redd for spot up shooting like Miller.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantK-Mart averaged 8.6 points and 6.2 rebounds last year, his scoring’s been declining consistently since 2004, he’s very injury prone, will turn 34 soon and made $16.5 million last year. He knows what it’s like to lose in the Finals and wants to get back, I’m assuming. He should play for the minimum.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantyou guys are comical with the FA for the Heat…anyone who signs with them is going to have to take the vets minimum, they spent all their cap on Udonis and Miller

Tim49461ParticipantWell that would be the point of my post. Who is willing to take the vets min. to play for them…Really did that concept fly over your head reading that ahhaha.

TyroberParticipantI am hoping that the HEAT beat the mavs and then Tyson Chandlers realizes he should take a small pay cut and sign with the HEAT for the full MLE and be the starting center for them.

NashyMingParticipantThey should try going after TMac and Michael Redd for the minimum. DWade and LBJ can share the ball handling duty so they don’t need a real PG to handle the ball. TMac can handle very well and he played some PG for the Pistons. TMac can work out well with Wade and LBJ if he gets into good shape and get his 3-pt shot back. Redd can be the long-d bomber if he can still shoot.
The heat should look for a C with the MLE as you can’t get any good one with the minimum. Sammy Dalembert is more realistic than Chandler as I can imagine Mark Cuban throwing 60mil on his way (if the CBA does not change significantly).
Yao Ming is a money magnet as long as he can still play 25 minutes decently, so he would definitely get more than MLE.
Jason Richardson is too good and he would get more than MLE.
Kenyon Martin may take a paycut, but I don’t see him getting anything lower than 3 mil a year. He doesn’t really have the size to play C, so the Heat better just spent the MLE on a real C.

blackflash234ParticipantI could see the Heat going hard after guys like Samuel Dalembert and Tyson Chandler. Then using the 31st pick to draft a point guard like a Nolan Smith, Norris Cole, Shelvin Mack or sleeper Andrew Goudelock . I could see Miami also going after a shooter like Redd to come off of the bench .

chibulls88ParticipantFYI for Heat fans and fans of other teams over the cap, the MLE is more of a guarantee to NOT be included in the next CBA than to be in it so don’t get your hopes too high on signing a big piece like Dalembert or Chandler. (This is from what I have read on ESPN.com)

Chilbert arenasParticipantGo after Kris Humpries, his future wife makes enough money that he can be cheap and they could film a reality T.V. show down in Miami

sammybuckeye13ParticipantChandler willl get more than the MLE. He turns defenses around he’s still 28, he was All-Defense this year and considering how few good centers there are he’ll prob command $9-11 million. If Brendan Haywood got that contract at 30, Chandler definitely deserves it now.
