elevation1013Participant… and trading the #2 to the Cavs, would you rather have the #4 + #8 or Cavs 2012 1st + #8? Remember Minnesota doesn’t have a 2012 1st and has expressed intererst in reaquiring one in the past.

torukParticipantcavs 2012 pick will be a top eight for sure but probably top 5, and next years draft has such a bigger talent level.

draftmangtParticipantThe cavs wont trade their 1st rd pick for 2012. No ones knows exactly who will enter the draft next year but it looks to be a much stronger draft than this one.

mds0549ParticipantKahn needs to win now and I don’t think that he can worry about waiting until next year’s draft. Take every asset that you can get your hands on right now and either draft or trade for veterans but get as much talent on the roster as possible.

BBall4life88ParticipantI agree with mds, the Wolves can’t keep rebuilding every year in hopes of next years top pick. They need to work on solidifying their roster and coaching staff and it needs to happen this year. I’m worried Minnesota is going to lose the Wolves franchise if they can’t put together a good, at least decent product. I’m crossing my fingers for Kyrie.

Dr.RedParticipant…and it doesn’t look like it is going to happen. Pistons want some players back for Rip & the 8th…and not bad contracts, either. That is going to be a tough pill to swallow for almost any team, considering the 8th pick is going to be worth a big fat question mark in this draft. Sure, if by chance the three-way deal gets done and the Wolves can land the 4th & 8th picks for the 2nd, get ‘er done! Otherwise, I think the Cavs will have to give up a 2012 pick and the 4th in this year’s draft to get number 2, if they really want it that bad.

Chilbert arenasParticipantCavs need to bite the bullet on this one and stick with what they got, the #1 , #4, and next years pick are much more valuable than #1 and #2 IMO. If the T-wolves can get cavs #1 next year then they should.

edot4483ParticipantIf Cavs plan to pick Irving & Williams 1-2, and jazz tell wolves they are taking Knight at 3(which I think Jazz should) then wolves can get Kanter at 4 and either trade the 8 for a 2012 draft pick(maybe bobcats so they get 8 & 9) or take Burks/Biyombo. Wolves need actual SG w/Ellington at back up. Wes Johnson is more 3 than 2. Wolves should move Martell to make room. Biyombo would be nice defensive C wolves definately need. Darko is the exact type of C you want to be splitting time. He can’t play more than 4 mins w/o picking up a foul. Good shot blocker(avgd 2 per gm) but no starter. Biyombo will be in time.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantimo the deal works for everyone but as menttioned it looks the pistons are gonna allow it not too happen the cavs would get two players too start the rebulid around the wolves likely get kanter at 4 then leonard or burks at 8 once again two good players too fil in the pieces in minny and the pistons get rid of rips horrid deal and the big trade exemption too use

BBall4life88ParticipantIf the Wolves do the deal with the 4th and 8th pick your getting more talent, but you’re not necessarily getting the top talent, the guy that could be a future all star in Kyrie or DWilliams, I think trading for the 4,8 picks is more of a gamble. If any trade goes down I would like to see them get an established player like Andre Igudala because the Wolves need help now and can’t wait for a project to develop. Best scenario: Wolves get Kyrie at #2.

Sports Tears In Our BeersParticipantIf this trade does happen, what do you think about trading the 8th and 20th pick for a first round pick next year and a vet? Not sure exactly what’s out there and we don’t know which teams will be in the lottery next year (there is always a good guess as to who will be though). I like the idea of trading with the bobcats, but who would you want? Would you go after a Stephen Jackson or maybe a Tyrus Thomas. We have room to take on contracts.
