Has anyone heard any rumors of teams signing free agents or trades? I’m very curious to see who is going to come on strong this year who was bad last year.

Latest news I got was that Baron Davis surprisingly opted out of his contract with the Warriors. In addition, LA Clippers’ Brand and Maggette did the same thing as well. They should be some of the most valuable players in the Free Agency market this off-season. Marion could opt out as well, but I heard nothing yet about it. Posey, Okafor and Ben Gordon have the choice to become free agents as well. Jamison had signed a contract with Washington, so this could be good news for Gilbert Arenas fans because he could sign with Wizards now that Jamison is back in the lineup! As a side note, which teams would be a nice fit for Davis, Maggette and Brand?

Maggette should go to Miami, since Marion is likely leaving.
Brand should go to the 76ers who are in need of a PF and can afford it.
Davis should either go to the Knicks or Clippers. More likely Clippers since they have the money.
As for Posey, Okafor, and Gordon. I beleive all of them will stay except Gordon…
Gordon could end up in a place like Gsw or Philly again could use him.

I know Gil opted out and said he’d only resign his Jamison returns. I personally dont see him leaving Washington.

Warriors offered a five-year $100 Mil contract to Arenas, Washington is offering a six-year $126 Mil contract though. But yeah I agree that he won’t leave Washington any time soon since Jamison is back. The Warriors are now in full pursuit for a point guard now that Baron Davis opted out on that $17.8 Million contract on his last year. I think they are gonna get back Monta Ellis to command the point guard position.

Where in the world will Josh Smith end up?

Well, the 76ers seem to have a lot of cash below the salary cap and I’ve been hearing rumors that he might end being in a 76ers jersey before the season starts off. Hawks say they are willing to match any offer but if I was them, I would tackle hard to get back Josh Smith and Childress. The look of it is that they aren’t trying hard to get them, so probably there’s a good chance Josh Smith will end up being a 76er. Let’s see where it goes….

Memphis has the money. Will they be making any offers? Is it possible the Celtics will add Maggette. Sounds like Posey will not return to Boston.

Yeah that’s true. Memphis got a large sum of money. To be honest though, I don’t know where they are going with this franchise due to the Pau Gasol trade last season. I mean, Pau is such a great player who can work the post and pretty much the Grizzlies’ leader at the time. They could’ve gotten more better players for Pau Gasol in return. Hey, they got his brother Marc though. In addition, they let go of Mike Miller in the Mayo-Love Blockbuster Trade! He was a solid, consistent player who was underpaid. Well, for Maggette it looks as if the Celtics might be considering letting Posey roam the market and getting Maggette.
