they should never do this trade, they have responsibility for the fans, you can’t hurt the team like this, instead they should work on making the team better.

    i made a plan for Detroit Off-Season…

if i’m the Pistons i definitely want Prince to stay, he still has in him at least 3-4 quality years, he just had his best season scoring wise and imo played quite well this year even with the circumstances, if you want to build a winning team Prince is a great piece at SF position with his all-around game, defense, iq and leadership.

in the draft of course must go for a big, a center, it could be Jonas Valanciunas or Bismack Biyombo.

then remain to worry about the backcourt, where has big problem there, you have to think what to do with the players who don’t quite fit together right now but there his some talent, this is what i would do: we know Stuckey his very talanted but better suite for the two guard, we know Ben Gordon most effective as a six man and Richard Hamilton just doesn’t fit with all of that, so my idea is to make a trade Richard Hamilton for Baron Davis, both players with about the same contract so both teams can only benefit from this trade, as for the Cavs, they very thin at SG position and already has Ramon Sessions and also with their two high lottery pick they definitely going to get valuable PG(Kyrie Irving, Brandon Knight or Kemba Walker) so it make a lot of sense, as for Pistons, Baron Davis still can play in a high level when he want to, he is more of a pure PG and facilitator and better match to play next to Stuckey and Gordon, generally i don’t see how you can lose from this trade, for both teams.

concerning the rotation i would make Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva players who come of the bench and by this to create a strong second unite, i think it’s the best way to produce from them the most.

so what you think? this is my 2011/2012 Detroit Pistons:

    Baron Davis/Tracy McGrady/Will Bynum
    Rodney Stuckey/Ben Gordon/Terrico White
    Tayshaun Prince/Jonas Jerebko/Austin Daye/Dajuan Summers
    Greg Monroe/Charlie Villanueva/Jason Maxiell
    (Jonas Valanciunas/Bismack Biyombo)/Ben Wallace/Chris Wilcox

If I’m the Cavs I jump on the Baron trade, especially because Rip will probably want a buyout.

However, the Pistons just need to blow it up.

    Here we go:

Complete the trade with Cleveland/Minny giving up Rip and the 8th pick.

Trade Ben Gordon to Charlotte for Boris Diaw

Take BPA at 33, maybe Parsons or Singler

Sign and trade Prince to Golden State for Dorrel Wright while throwing in pieces

Search and search for a Villaneuva taker, however unlikely.

2011 Roster is in rebuilding and looks like this:

    Stuckey/Bynum

    ?/White/Mcgrady

    Wright/Daye/Jerebko

    Maxiell/Villaneuva/Diaw,Wilcox (any order)

    Monroe/Wallace

Most likely use that PF depth to acquire a young shooting guard, and other assets.

Lots of options and flexibility moving forward, while looking forward to the 2012 draft.

no way joe lets go of that 8th pick for baron in return. it would just be replacing one malcontent with another. new owner, new beginning. Prince will leave for mavs, lakers or clippers. hopefully a sign and trade could be worked out. rip’s championship experience must be tempting for the bulls and some other teams as his contract is now a more managable 2 years remaining. joe can get a underachiving young talent that could fit in well at least, for that 3-way deal to happen.

i know the arguement is that the pistons would get a 25 million cut from just letting him go and in these trying times might be justifiable, but a new owner will spend money to make money one hopes.

dont forget that the pistons are very high on jerebko and with daye showing promise arent against letting them move into prince’s spot.

this pistons team will look very different whenever the next season tips-off.

i cant venture a guess right now but im sure it won’t have rip, prince or tmac

but i can tell you who the coach will be.

    Bill Laimbeer

a new 4 year plan is in order cause aint nobody gettin past the heat until 2015

so the only thing that matters now is building a hard working team that competes everynight until the league reshapes. and that is why joe will not give up that 8th pick for nothing. if he gets the right guy he will be worth more than the 25 mil u save now.

move that pick up joe, rip would be a nice fit in jazz land too (favors would also look good on a young pistons)

how about stuckey and the 8th for favors and the 3rd (as the basis, add a pick or piece) jazz need help at the 2 and with harris would make for a fast backcourt that cant shoot a lick.

    love this time of year!

LOL you must be a detroit fan, because that must be one of the most lopsided trades I’ve ever seen posted.

The trade is great for DET… People don’t understand that DET would be sending the 8th pick to the Cavs to take a mistake( Rips Contract )off there hands. The only thing I thinking is maybe DET should not send RIP but do Gordon… He has three years left on his deal… to Rip’s two.

Rip for Flynn, Pekovic, and Tolliver

Minny is getting the veteran leadership they want with out losing a pick

Detroit gets a bench center for when ben retires in pekovic and a point guard to help build around, they can build around Flynn, Monroe, Daye, and there draft pick

I think since Sessions is on the trade block that Cleveland should include him in the deal because the hold out is said to be that Detroit wants a player back.  Cleveland could also give them a future 2nd round pick or a second round pick in this draft.  Baron Davis and Irving, Sessions could be odd man out.  Detroit needs a true point guard.  They could also trade Stuckney to Chi town for Gibson and one of their secound rounders.

If there was a "rewind 6 years" button, than the Pistons would press it. It is a bad mix of good young talent, and washed up veterans.

If Taylor wouldn’t give up a few extra million so Kahn could trade Flynn for Aaron Brooks he would never pay $12M over two more seasons to a 33 year old SG on the downside of his career, and they especially wouldn’t trade value for him (Flynn, Pekovic).  I think this trade all depends on how bad Cleveland wants that 2nd Pick.  Are they willing to give up another piece (Ramon Sessions/32nd Pick) to Detroit?

This trade was obviously not going to happen, and it’s another example of an overzealous rumor. While the Pistons have shown they’re not afraid of departing with young talent (Aaron Afflalo, Amir Johnson, Darko Milicic, etc.) I highly doubt they’d give up the 8th overall pick regardless of a preception that this draft is weak, with the looming departure of Tayshaun Prince and others in free agency.

The idea of the Pistons finding a way to clear both Tayshaun and Rip off their payroll is an interesting one though, that would yield them a huge chunk of money to play with in free agency, and there’s plenty of talent in this free agent class.

Maybe the Cavs should through in Hickson. They need to rebuild and if its costing them Hickson to get the 2nd in Derrick Wiliams then they need to do it

Chris Grant is trying to be proactive again and after pulling a good deal with the Clippers which came up trumps, he is trying to do the same with Detroit who probably need to clear contracts before they can do much. But I don’t see how Joe Dumars can risk giving up a top ten pick with the coach on the way out, locker room issues etc even if it saves money.

Also what could Kahn do with 4th and 8th pick as he has too many players for roster spaces at the moment, the one thing that I could only see him doing is trying to get the pick back from the Clippers for 2012 with the 4th pick.

Actually Hamilton at SG or even SF for the Cavs would not be a bad option as it gives them extra experience for a year or two until he becomes tradeable and if he demanded a buy out then the Cavs could offer him less if he was determined to go. But Detroit could also possibly buy him out if they did want ride of his deal.
