Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantHi everybody, here is my mock draft with deep comments for the first round picks and some for the 2nd round picks. It is kind of unorthodox, so please take note of the conditions in which I did my mock. Constructive feedback is welcome.

Doing this mock, I came with an idea. Since the Kings are thought to be drafting a PG like Knight (if available) or Walker and that they already have Udrih, Thornton and Evans in the backcourt, this means that they will certainly trade one of these three guys or their pick. Therefore, who should they trade (or, in other words, get rid of)?
This introduces my idea: of course, the logical idea is to trade the less worthy player, in this case Udrih, but I think they should rather trade away Evans. Though it seems herratic, I motivate my choice by many different arguments:
-Evans has shown that he was not a true PG, a really good playmaker.
-Evans lacks a nice shot which prevents him to take it to the next level. It partly explains why he didn’t really progress this year
-Evans had disciplinary problems, especially with Cousins, so maybe one of them should be removed
-Evans is still young and is considered as one of the future stars of this league, so as Sacramento need a good SF, they could trade Evans for a star SF like Danny Granger as Indiana definitely needs a SG and could use Paul George more. How about a trade like this one, assuming that one team or the other can put in draft picks:

Thoughts?

SealioParticipantEvans had a tough year last year with the injury but i think he is their building block for the future. I think even if they draft Knight or Walker they can play Knight/Walker-Thornton-Evans-Thompson-Cousins… or they could bring the new draft pick off the bench similar to a Jason Terry type player or even James Harden.
Tyreke is not a pure PG which we all know but he is too valuable to their franchise to let go. Granger is good but he is mainly a scorer and i don’t think he would help the Kings much. The Kings can look for a SF in next years draft.
I hope somehow Knight falls to them but Kemba is a winner and hopefully that translates to the next level.

Stojakovicfor3ParticipantFirst of all, Evans woud play SG. Thats why the Kings want to draft Kemba or Brandon, sp they have a true PG. They won’t trade Tyreke. Second of all, your mock needs some work. The Cavs will choose Kyrie Irving 1st overall. Kemba and Knight are too low. The Knicks sure as hell wouldn’t pass up Jimmer and Faried for Tyler Honeycutt. Chris Singleton will go higher than 19 and the Celtics have already promised Reggie Jackson they will draft him if hes available at 25 and are willing to draft up to get him. He won’t go in the 2nd round. I don’t think Selby will either. There’s also no way the Pacers won’t draft a PF with either of their picks. You have them passing up Faried, Motiejunas, Tobias Harris, JaJuan Johnson and Justin Harper for Klay Thompson, a SG. And then you have them passing up Jamie Skeen and Greg Smith for Cory Joseph, a PG.

nateoak10ParticipantLee , Udoh and Amundson take up the PF spot with Udoh filling in at center most of the time. Andris is a lost cause so I think they go SF or center

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantThanks for the feedback it was interesting and it made me thing about the following things as I need to explain some of my choices:
-I don’t think whether my opinion about the Kings was expressed clearly enough: I believe that the Kings have too many people in the backcourt (Udrih as a true PG, Evans as SG-PG, Thornton as SG) and too few minutes to actually draft a PG/SG without having to trade one of those players. My idea about trading Evans, although I have never denied that he was a top player, is that the Kings would strengthen their major hole, the SF position with a star player. The idea of Granger came straight to my head but we can also think of Iggy or Gay, or a guy like Ariza + interesting players…. The Kings could also end up Udrih + future picks (and get rid of Casspi/Greene/Garcia) maybe for a good SF like Ariza, that would be another idea.
The thesis is that I don’t see the Kings with a combination of PG/SG/SG like that:
PG: Udrih-Knight/Walker
SG: Evans (SG/PG)-Thornton-Taylor (loaded)
SF: Greene-Casspi-Garcia (SG/SF) (too short)
I see them more with a combination of PG/SG/SG like that:
PG: Knight/Walker-Nolan Smith
PG/SG: Evans
SG: Thornton-Taylor
SF: Ariza-Greene-Garcia (SG/SF)
Then they can upgrade at PF during the next draft.
-I think that logically Irving can’t go N°1, this because the Cavs are loaded at PG. If they find a way to get Sessions out of town, then yeah, they can take Irving.
– Concerning the Knicks, I explained why they would not take Jimmer: they already have Billups and Douglas (a similar player). Then, I think the Knicks already have solid rebounders in Shelden Williams and in Ronny Turiaf. Of course, this argument is valid if at least one of them is resigned and I think Turiaf will not take up his option.
-Pacers: Hansbrough’s good playoff games has veiled the Pacers need for a PF. I rather see them lacking a good SG and that’s why I’d have Klay Thompson. Else, they could take Singleton but there’s noway they’ll take Johnson or Harper at PF. I stick with my idea of Klay Thompson and yes they can take Greg Smith late instead of Cory Joseph given that they don’t resign McRoberts or Solomon Jones.
-I’m quite intrigued with your statement about Jackson and the Celtics as I didn’t see this idea anywhere: could you give me a source? For me, it’s quite illogic as they already possess the same kind of player in Avery Bradley, even though I think Bradley is better than Jackson.
-For me too it’s quite improbable that Selby goes 2° round but I can’t figure out where he’d go apart from Chicago.

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantThe thing is, there aren’t many talented Centers left so I’d rather take Thompson to pair up with Lee with a defensive-minded player coupling with a more offensive-minded player. Surely if a Center was worth a look the Warriors would take him. They might consider trading down if they see that during draft time they have no chance of getting a Center like Jonas or Enes or Biyombo.
