sbealer22ParticipantSo I know a lot of people say that the Sixers biggest need is a legit 5. I do agree that this is a huge need, but IMO we NEED, more then anything, a guy who can consistently shoot, a #1 scoring option if you will. Lets say we trade Iggy for a Center. This would probably be the Sixers starting Line-up next year
Holliday
Meeks
Young
Brand
C picked up from Iggy
There is no one in that lineup that is a 1st team scoring option.
So, how can the Sixers fill this need. I have hopes for guys like Rudy Gay or James Harden, but they are probably going no where. Who do you guys think would help the Sixers who is a actual potential target?

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHave you forgotten about Evan Turner??? Come on.. If they trade Iggy, its because they are ready to turn the team over to Turner..

the microwaveParticipanttheres a few different combos the philly papers have talked about as far as starting lineups.. All depends on who is moved, but at the end of the day, we need a 5 who can defend (not like sammy D though, he disappears for huge stretches in games)… We also need another scorer.

the microwaveParticipantnene would be love, but if we resign Thad that may be very tough to accomplish..

sbealer22ParticipantThen we need a scoring 3. Turner is not a good shooter (yet) and it would be the same thing as before. Especially if you are putting a lineup out of
Holliday
Turner
Young
Brand
Center from Iggy trade
That lineup still cannot shoot. Maybe Turner will learn, but I am not counting on it. I think I speak for all Sixers fans that its hard watching Iggy be your #1 option late in games. I love Iggy, a lot more then most sixers fans, but he is not a #1 scorer.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantJodie Meeks is a nice shooter from deep and Holiday has shown the potiental to be very solid from there. I think that a Kevin Martin type player would be a nice return from Iggy… Kevin Martin and Brad Miller for Iggy and a second round pick..
Resign Hawes, keep Meeks, play Turner as a PG/SF and let Martin always be the 2 guard. Start:
Holiday
Martin
Turner
Brand
Miller
(Bench)
Meeks
Nocioni
Young
HawesThen take Darius Morris with the 16th pick and Keith Bensen or Jeremy Tyler with the 40something pick.

the microwaveParticipant8th deadly sin – i like everything you said, but not sure how Darius Morris would fit in… (benson / tyler in 2nd rd i would love)
martin treade is very intriguing

The8thDeadlySinParticipantYeah.. I had forgotten about Lou Williams.. Now that I consider him, I want to change my mind with that pick… Marshon Brooks???

the microwaveParticipantIM SOLD LOL… id love Brooks as well..

sbealer22ParticipantKevin Martin is the EXACT player I was thinking of. A guy who can put up 22 ppg and has a great stroke. I would actually consider taking Tyler in the 1st but Brooks would be nice too.

mvp347ParticipantI don’t see Houston giving up Miller unless they’re getting a good big man in return. Yao isn’t exactly going to be able to step in.
