Who does Utah Take with their first pick?

 I would also go with Knight over Walker. But the Jazz should also consider taking one of the top 3 (Irving, Derrick Williams, Kanter). All of them would help the Jazz significantly.

As for the 12th pick its currently in this order for me: Alec Burks, Kawhi Leonard, Jimmer, Tobias Harris, Jordan Hamilton.

Depending on how he goes in workouts, Jan Vesely is a possibility here, he fills a need in replacing AK47, and is oozing with potential. Could also play the 4 with Favors at the C if they decide to go that route.

If Irving or Williams falls to them they have to take them. Otherwise they have to look at alot of things. If they don’t have someone else they really want it would be a good idea to maybe trade the pick for future picks or a player who can step in and help immediately. The 12th pick they should just take the best player basically. They probably don’t need another PF but other than that they could use just about anything.

If the Jazz can pull off a good trade, it might be in their best interest to trade down a spot or two.  If not, staying put and grabbing someone like Knight would be good for them. 

It must be just me but I honestly don’t see either Knight or Walker as being better PGs than Devin Harris. Harris is a good player and I don’t know if they should spend the 3rd pick overall on a player than won’t be an upgrade for several years. Personally I think there are three players at the top of draft with Irving, Williams and Kanter. Utah should take the best remaining player at the third spot whoever that may be.

They should take Brandon Knight at 3.  Great shooter, good size, was the starting point guard on a Final Four team.  Made two game winnning shots in the tournament.  Should fit in well with their big men and Gordon Hayward. 

At 12, they should go with the best player available.  I have them in sort of a risky move taking Jimmer Fredette with the thinking that Jimmer can be a great sixth man or they can go with a small backcourt with Jimmer and Brandon Knight.  I think Leonard and Burks would be good on them but I have them being drafted at 9 and 10.  Klay Thompson and Jordan Hamilton would also be good picks for them at 12.

The Jazz need to get rid of either Millsap or Favors.  They basically have 3 power forwards.  Draft night would be a good time to trade one of those guys. 

i see utah taking brandon Knight becuase of all there PF already in the fold.. maybe they can swing a deal with the sixers offering one of there PF for iggy and then maybe drafting kanter? what do u guys think?

Jazz send Devin Harris to Lakers for Ron Artest and Steve Blake + 2011 Picks…

It worked out with the trade machine….since they are potentially losing Kirilenko…and I just want a quicker PG in LA! LOL.

They can grab some 2nd Rounders with LA’s Picks.

I’m so sick of Lakers’ fans who think that every lopsided trade will work to their benefit.

On the other hand, with the Jazz’ first pick in the draft, I think they should draft Enes Kanter. With their 12th pick, if they’re able to get Jimmer I would do that. IMO, address their C need is most important. Jefferson is more effective at being a PF (I hope they trade Jefferson because I feel Millsap is a better fit) and if you look beyond Okur (who also has a back issue) they Fesenko. Kanter will solidify their frontcourt and they can use Devin Harris for one more year while NOT rushing Jimmer and not putting too much pressure on him.

If the Jazz trade Devin Harris to the Lakers they should ask for Shannon Brown, Devin Ebanks, and picks.  If the numbers don’t work out then I would think about taking Derek Fisher as a mentor for Brandon Knight (who I have them taking at 3), and a steady point guard off the bench). 

That would give the Jazz a good backup small forward to Gordon Hayward and would give them a good athlete at guard (Shannon Brown).  Then they can look at getting a shooting guard at 12 like Clay Thompson giving them a young guard rotation of Brandon Knight, Clay Thompson, and Shannon Brown.  At the 3, they can go with Hayward, Ebanks, and Jeremy Evans.  They have Jefferson, Millsap, and Favors at power forward with Fesenko at center.  With the Lakers picks they should go after a center, maybe look at guys that aren’t on the radar.  Mike Tisdale from Illinois has decent size and is fairly active.  They might want to look at him. 

Brandon Knight or Jan Vesley would be my first thoughts with the 3rd pick. For the 12th pick I’d look at Burks, Jimmer or Klay Thompson. The Morris boys are in that draft area so if they took Knight at 3 then Marcus Morris at 12 would be a nice compliment.

With Utah having several frontcourt options and the rights to Euro big Ante Tomic then taking another big man project at maybe 12 would not seem to be logical to me and there is not a big man really in the draft who would give them the extra size they may want to compliment their current bigs. Motiejunas is an intriguiging 7ft prospect but his wingspan isn’t great and unless they saw him as a long term replacement for Okur then I feel he is better off being drafted elsewhere.

If that would happen I would quit the NBA forever.  Garbage plus late draft picks for a solid ass starting PG?  Cmon man.

 Just saw him in the combine I was totally blown away by him.  If they go with Canter that would make a couple other guys on the jazz expendable. ie Okur, Jefferson (please), millsap :(. Don’t get the idea that I want all three of these players gone its just that if they draft Kanter he needs playing time to develop.  In fact there is only one of the three that i would like to see leave.  

On the other hand i get why alot of people want to see the jazz pick Knight.  We know Harris isn’t the answer at pg just the placeholder.  I would like to see the jazz do some draft day trades for once and lets try for both.  We are already in rebuild mode so lets purge the roster a little bit (Bell, Jefferson) to see if we cant make it happen.

It’s Kanter or bust at this point. Nobody outside of Irving and Williams has the kind of potential he does. Utah needs a dose of toughness in the frontcourt, and Kanter’s particular skill-set really complements Favors both offensively and defensively.

Devin Harris is an average point guard that doesn’t offer much on defense anymore, but he is a better playmaker than any lottery-bound point guard outside of Irving.

Yeah i wouldnt put a bunch of stock in a combine where you are getting guarded by air.

Pick Knight because of his defense, size, shooting ability. They don’t have too many PF because favors isn”t ready and you always need a back up plaus favors contract is low for the next couple of seasons.

 you can tell by body language  who wants it more and they did do drills so they weren’t gaurded by air as you put it. plus Kanter had the balls to do the combine and not sit out like knight did.  If you’d have watched the combine when Chad Ford was discussing Knight he said he can’t go left really well how long until everyone else figures that out.  Heck after watching the combine if we didnt already have Millsap I’d say draft  Kanter at 3 and Faried at 12.

I don’t think its kanter or bust at all, I think kanter is a good talent, but you have to evaluate the fact that they have 5 players at the 4 and 5 position under contract already, so you have to say, although jefferson isn’t a true center, he is techically the same heigth and might be longer than Kanter. So making this move you are basically putting faith in a rookie who never played a college game all season, at a position where you are already solid. Then you also have to ask yourself whether or not you think Ante Tomic will develop into the future center for this team whom they drafted several years ago. I dont think anybody is giving brandon knight enough credit, the kid averaged stellar numbers for a freshman, was only the 3rd player out of highschool to win the gatorade player of the year 2 times, the other 2 where greg oden and lebron james, whom coming out where considered the next great generation of stars at their positions. Which held true for 1 and due to injuries not so much for the other. He also has a great work ethic, motor, and a high character personality, which is something this jazz franchise evaluates for every draft since the 80’s.

Not to mention Kanter in his interview stated that he would like to play for Minnesota, Washington or cleveland, and never once mentioned the Jazz who own the 3 slot, so he is clearly retarded if he mentions those franchises and doesn’t mention one of the most winning franchises in NBA history.
