 If you’re talking about my comment on the Jazz thread, I don’t feel it’s fixed but rather the dominos don’t all just fall in a line.  One of the reasons I really don’t do any well thought out mocks until the lotto is set.

You do know that the problem with that is that with 1000 combinations and one team having 250 if they get the first pick that they can also come up three or four times when trying to figure out the second and third picks. It takes away the buildup for the first pick (because the first pick would require all combinations to be in play) and then there would be a huge dropoff when there can be ten-fifteen minutes of hoppers running off number combinations that are still in play.

The NBA is rigged the whe league from top to bottom obviously there are some things that can’t be controlled but very few.

The league is so rigged that in a draft with LeBron James and lottery teams from New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles that the lottery was won by Cleveland. It was so rigged that in the epic two-man draft of 2007, Portland and Seattle, not Boston, New York, or Chicago that won it.

The Kings will get the 1st pick this year. Not Kevin Johnson, not anyone else other than Stern talked them into staying in Sactown a little longer. The Kings have proven to have a great fanbase in the past, they will get the #1 pick as a prize for staying in Sactown a little longer. It’s been proven that the refs are not always right and that they could brash in their decision making. All it takes is one bad call to switch a series.

 I remember been a eight year old and the return of Michael Jordan in 2001, he was returning to Washington Wizard the Capital of the United States of America. A place where the greatest was returning and guess what happened they won the lottery, notice they had the third highest chance of winning the lottery, look for the irony the Chicago Bulls had the highest chance to win that year follow by Golden State then the Wizard. Then Came the 2003 Lottery the First home town hero "The King" Choosen One, yes him. Both Cleveland and Denver had a fifty percent chance combine together. why did Cleveland win? Home town Hero. Next year Junior superman came along Dwight Howard Florida state. I know Orlando had the worst record that year, but the Bobcats was a new Organization. Orlando won yes. 2006 the year i hate the most, no home town hero but a place where everyone accepts you for you. The Raptors pick they had nobody no clear cut desicions. They got the Italian pasta. a 7 foot shooter nice. anyway, 2008 cause 2007 was fair to me. Another home town Hero, Derrick rose of Chicago. let me stated the smartest men in basketball in New York gave that pick away. They seen that wade with rose is unfair and the next team in line was his home town a historic Organization. 2009 another team needing a Hero, Blake the great im sorry Kings fans but they decide other wise. Blake should of been but a team in Hollywood needed help for decades. A lot of people who may think other wise, but the first over pick in the last eight year season have not been bust. so that pick is important for a rebuilt. I stress the |Twolves have not been repaid by the NBA for the exit of KG. People blame the GM for making poor decision and really he took the best avaliable players did it went his way nope. Kevin Love is their only bright spot as of now. 

I know i skipped the 2002, 2005, 2007 and 2010 because both the kings and nets are in excellent position as of now base on the results of previous draft. 2007 lottery is fair in my eyes, 2005 fair in my eyes.

IDK how I feel about the ethics of the lottery but to claim that merely b/c the lottery is reviewed by accountants does little to reassure that it is not fixed.  I know manny drug dealers I trust more than many accountants that I know.  Accounting is very shady even though it is suppose to be all about ethics.  Accountants often get bribed and if they aren’t bribed many of them can play with the figures that they deal with to give themselves their own financial advantages.

Still, what proof do you have? The Cavs had the worst record in the league when they got LeBron James, and guess what, it is a lottery, someone has to win it.  Refs may influence games, but teams do much more of that. If you do not like it and think it is a conspiracy theory, do not watch it. But, here is my guess. You start every year like the rest of us, wondering who is going to win, who is going to play well and so on and so forth. Did you think the Mavs would sweep the Lakers? Boston losing in 5? If the NBA wanted to make the most money, LeBron would have already won a championship by now. 

Believe me, people here know NBA history, and we know ANYTHING can happen, but certain things seem too, and they have more to do with the best teams doing things to win games more than referees and back room deals. Yeah, the NBA wanted LeBron James in Cleveland? Because David Stern really has ties there. Teams used to have territorial picks until 1966, the fact that a couple guys were drafted to their hometowns is not exactly a conspiracy. Why has New York only won two championships in their history?

The Wolves have NEVER picked above their lottery position. In fact, the majority of the time, they end up below lottery position.

A little bit of transparency would go a long way in getting rid of these conspiracy theories.

If the league showed the hoppers, the conspiracy theorists would claim Ocean’s Eleven type weighted ping pong balls or rigged hoppers. There is no winning with them.

So you dont see Stern saying this in 2003: "Send that teenage diva back to his boring hometown. And give the 2nd pick to Memphis/Detroit, I want to see the look on Jerry West’s face after he sees the pick is going to Detroit! Also, send my friend Donald the sixth pick, its only a four pick draft, five if you include that creepy Serbian kid who’s probably gonna go top three. I cant believe I have to hug the guy." (For those of you that don’t remember, Memphis traded its pick to Detroit, however it was protected if Memphis got the top pick. So 2nd and anything lower and it was Detroit’s, Number one and it was gonna go to Memphis.)

If Minnesota, Cleveland, and Toronto get Top 3 picks this year then I might say its not fixed. Hell I doubt any of them will get the 1st overall pick aside from  Cleveland due to the extreme pity of that cities loss.Every single year these teams get boned until a weak draft, wow sorta like this one rolls along. Hey maybe they will go a year without fixing it, maybe they only fix it when they really want a player on a certain team. all I know is that there is no way in hell Minnesota couldve possibly dodged the 1st overall pick like they have, there is no way the Bulls shouldve gotten Rose (although Im happy they did that was a nice fix job for the sport), and its definitely fixed at times. Mostly for the good of the sport but still, they need to start giving these teams some love.

@Adum it is funny how the Lakers used to always get those calls. Like in game one closing out that game Dirk was sorta nudged by Pau and flopped then got to the lie. Kobe tried the same thing and got nothing. In that scenerio Dallas would have gotten no respect against the Champs and LA would have been given tons.

In any sport there have always been the feeling that the top sides get the calls or if they pressure the referee enough he’ll be cave into them. Luckily basketball has the rule where only the Captain can speak to an official I believe.

If the draft was ever fixed then why did the Knicks not get a lottery pick in 2008 for example or even in 2009?

If we did assume that the lottery was fixed then this year’s top 3 could well be Cleveland to make up for LeBron moving, Sacramento to try and keep the team there and T-Wolves so perhaps they draft Irving and thus trade Rubio to a major market, they get their top PG and Rubio comes to the NBA, everyone is happy.

Personally I believe that the lottery is totally legit but would love to see it being broadcast live as the actual picks are chosen and thus see the faces. 

Would take out all of the excitement. Sure, some people would rather peer behind the curtain and see the Wizard, rather than believe that everything is up to par. But, when they do the lottery, I do not think that the first pick is done last, they do them in sequence. When you watch it, you get to count down the actual sequence of events, it is much more exciting that way. To actually watch the process would be interesting in person, but boring as all hell on TV. If you ever get the chance to peer behind the curtain, definitely take it, but for now, you are watching it in the best way possible. Believe what you will, but it is true that the lottery system is exciting for the fans, and the only ones who care if it is rigged are the ones who usually do not move up to the position they most wanted.

 08 knicks had lottery pick…no.6 Danilo Gallinari… Bulls had the first :D,,,09 knicks had lottery pick..no.8 Jordan Hill (wanted curry,gone at 7,maybe should try with jennings but i dont think he would be good fit with them,bad shooter,not much of a passer and slasher) wtf are you talking about retard ?!
