jjonzParticipantI no these are options that DAinge has stated publicly but is this logical. What can we expect out of JGreen as a featured player. As a #1 option he could avg. 15-18 ppg/6-7rebs. Considering he avg 9ppg in 18-20 mins. I would keep him as a 2nd option, as far as sending PPierce to bench maybe this was motivation talk, because he would be the most expensive 6th man ever.
Should Celtics resign JGreen?

LULUParticipantPPierce to bench?
This is bullshit!!!
Not now.The Truth still can beat everyone one on one…
But in 2 years he must be a 6 man I would say…

JoeWolf1Yeah, resign Jeff Green, but Pierce still averaged almost 20 ppg game last year and proved he is still a starter. Jeff Green should play a bigger role next season for sure, but not starting over Pierce.
You just said as a #1 option Jeff Green could average 15-18 ppg and 6-7 rebounds.
Paul Pierce averaged 19 and 5 and shot close to 40% from 3 ( 45% in the playoffs) as a #1 option, I don’t see how anyone would think Jeff Green is a #1 option period, but over Paul Pierce especially even if he is getting up there in age.

ghrghrParticipantThey have to sign him, if not, why did Boston trade Perkins for? He can be a good starter in the league at SF, but Pierce is much, much better and unless he was too tired in the postseason there is no reason to have him coming off the bench.
I predict next season will be a bad one for the celtics, their age seems to have caught up with them and their bench is not able to give the guys extended rest.

JoeWolf1Yeah, they need to re-load and they have a ton of free agents so I feel their team will be much different next season.
Tyson Chandler, Shane Battier, Kris Humphries, Samuel Dalembert, AK47, and Boris Diaw could all be attractive free agents who could come in and fit with their veteran core while upping their overall talent level.

jjonzParticipantAbout Pierce coming off the bench. i think he has one of the best mid range shots in the League. IDK what to expect out of JGreen, he never seemed settled in Boston. And he has played out of Position his entire career. So what he can do @ SF for an entire season remains to be seen.

JoeWolf1He just seems like a 2nd option to me and any team that relies on him for a #1 option is headed for the lottery, I don’t know what Ainge was thinking, but I do think Jeff Green should be a much bigger player for the C’s next year.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantWhy not move Pierce to shooting guard ,have Green at small forward and bring Allen off the bench?

mamadouParticipantEverything is green u know what i mean !!!
Green’s overrated as hell, he was atrocious with the thunder this season, let him be a top 10 sixth men in the league next year, that’s the very best he can be for them in the short term….

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI expect Avery Bradley to be among the most improved players next season..In limited minutes he showed he has the ability to score points in a hurry…
