I think Kobe is definitely a top five player, but DWade had better numbers and should have definitely been there instead of him. The HEAT won more games than the Lakers as well

I think both are top 5 players. Wade averaged 0.3 more points in 3.2 more minutes which is basically a toss up. The heat only won one more game so I doubt that is a factor. Both are pretty equal defensively. Both had stars they had to share the ball with. And Kobe getting swept is also a non factor since the postseason doesn’t play a factor and Kobe was the one laker who actually played well throughout the playoffsmdrawing more double teams from Dallas then i have seen anyone double him in years.

    It’s really a very close
Argument for both guys and anyone acting like one guy was clearly better is probably being biased.

You conveniently failed to mention the large disparity in rebounds and shooting percentage.  So, obviously there is some "bias" there.

Also, Kobe did NOT play well in the playoffs.  Unless you consider having as many turnovers as assists, having a TOTAL of 3 blocks and averaging 22 points is playing "well" for a top 5 player.

Currently, there is no doubt that DWade is the far more dynamic, aggressive and better player.   He should have been 1st team.

If there is no doubt who is the better player then why did Kobe make 1 st team? Obviously there is plenty of people who feel he is the better player. And yes, Kobe played very well in the playoffs did you see why he didn’t have more assists. Something to do with nobody making an outside shot when he constantly drew double teams and kicked it out. Besides, playoffs aren’t taken into consideration for all NBA teams.

Except they did go 2-0 vs the Lakers.  And they are not equal defensively, who are you kidding?  Both had stars to share the ball with?  Gasol?  That’s it.  Wade had LeBron and Bosh.  I would say Bosh and LeBron are both better offensive players than Gasol so that isn’t much of a toss up there.  DWade was clearly robbed of the NBA 1st Team Selection.  People just can’t get over the fact that Wade is currently the best guard in the league.

If you subtracted the playoffs, Nobody would be arguing bosh is better then gasol. Not one person said that at any point this season until now cause gasol sucked in the playoffs. Besides, the lakers have more depth of guys who while not stars all require their touches like Bynum and odom while everyone on he heat pretty much just wait for lebron or wade to do their own thing.

Kobe had a very solid season putting up about 25 5 and 5 despite playing the least minutes since he was a teenager Nd still playing top notch defense. If you think wade is better that’s fine aNd I Already stated its very close and up to each person to decide. But to say ” Kobe is not in the same league as wade” is just laughable

I think it basically is a toss up between the 2 based on this past season. But, awards like these often lean to a popularity contest so Kobe wins out on reputation.

But Wade is still in the playoffs, so I have a feeling that he couldn’t care less about this award.

Kobe is still a great player and as skilled as they come, but let’s not be in denial… He’s getting old. He’s sliding out of the top five. I don’t care how great you are… You’re not beating Father Time. Kobe can’t do it like he used to. He’s not as old age wise as Michael Jordan was while he played with the Wizards, but he’s played MORE minutes.

I won’t say Wade was "robbed" of the All NBA 1st Team, but I do think he should’ve gotten the nod over Kobe.

And Kobe making the All NBA Defensive 1st Team was a joke. He’s no longer an elite defender.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  I’m not saying Kobe is not in the same league.  LBJ, Wade, and Kobe are the top 3 players and their in a tier of their own.  I just feel that Wade produced more with less touches.  And I’m not taking playoffs into account, I honestly think Bosh is a better scorer than Gasol.  Not a better a rebounder, shot blocker, defender, passer, or overall player.  I believe Bosh is a better scorer.  Meaning less offense than Wade.

Wade is the better player and had a better year.  I think the only argument in the 1st team was Durant over Dirk.  Both guys had great years.

The other big issue was putting Al Horford on the third team.  I know they need a center, but I think that Amare, Pau, and LA play as much center as Horford does.  I read one comment that Rondo got robbed.  I think I had Rondo on the 3rd team but the other guys were pretty much the same.

It really is a joke the awards kobe gets, I guess you can say they are making up for at least 2 of the MVP awards he was robbed for in the past. But to say he is all nba and all defense first team is a complete joke. He is a top 5 player but he is not better than wade right now.

I keep seeing Kobe is a top 5 player. . .NBA awards aside, right now if I said pick 5 guys, I guarantee you will have 1 of them on your team next year, would Kobe be one of them?

Howard, Dirk, Rose, Durant, LBJ, Wade I’d put ahead of Kobe. Kobe would be next, so he is just top 10 IMO. I know he has immeasurables, because he is "clutch" but sometimes he puts himself in those situations because he has gone 0 for his last 6 in the 4th quarter. What you call clutch I sometimes call going 1 for 7. He also misses a lot of those clutch shots, I think he still has that clutch rep because he has more chances than anyone else to take the final shot.

I agree Wade should be on the Nba All 1st team.

Don’t overrate Durant he’s not better than Kobe, he barely demands the ball when the game is on the line.

Kobe is still a better passer, defender, closer and winner than Durant.

Durant has 8 asts in 6 games this series and 14 turnovers.  In the triple overtime game he had 1 assist.
