ilike.panochasParticipantOh yea nothing like Rubio and Love as a super team, along with Darko and you have a BIG 3.

Vivid5292Participantwoahh you did not just put rubio & love into that conversation. lol rubio hasn’t even played yet.
anyways, i doubt rose or durant would condone to this super team bull.
i see dwight joining the nets maybe. as for the others, they’re already considered super teams or had their chances already.

sbealer22Participantthe most logical person to put on here for moving is Howard. I can see the Lakers, Thunder, or Bulls to form a big three.
Also, how can you have Rubio/Love and not Griffin/Gordon?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/11/2011 - 7:39pm #530856
Tim49461ParticipantLol i know im just trying to think of more teams other than 3, give me a break. The Day will be mine when Rubio comes in the league and avg. 20 10 5. Then we will see who is laughing. (sarcasm incase you didnt know)

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantLakers: Kobe/D-How/Pau
OKC: Durant/Westbrook/Harden (I really like what I’ve seen out of him- he’ll get the starting nod over Sefolosha soon enough) **Most likely next big 3**
NYK: Melo/Amare/CP3 **2nd most likely**
NJN: Williams/Lopez/Griffin (who knows? lol)
Chi: Rose/Boozer/Mayo
Minny: Rubio/Love/…I can’t really see anybody WANTING to go to Minny. But for now, Beasley.

ilike.panochasParticipantI want to add Kings’ Tyreke and Cousins and if somehow they can land Kyrie Irving, then WOW what three great young piece you have.

Tim49461ParticipantI really like the idea of Rose/Mayo/Boozer
Mayo just adds everything to the SG spot Chicago needs. Shooting Defensive and willing to play second fiddle. I dont know why they didnt make a push for him at the deadline.

oden07Participanthow bout Griffin, Gordon, Dwight Howard
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/11/2011 - 9:17pm #530878

ilike.panochasParticipantGriffin and Dwight together, that’s close to 30RPG combine. Most athletic frontline ever if it happens.

TheFactionCoalition.comParticipantI’d rather see Howard with Cousins over Griffin. I realize I’m going to get killed on this so let me explain my thoughts a little.
I think Howard would fit in nicely with ANY team in the league. He is obviously the most dominating 5 in the league, especially considering how many teams have guys that play C that are maybe better off at the 4. Obviously Griffin and Howard would be the most ridiculously athletic front court, but I think I’d rather seem him paired with DMC in the frount court. I think they could create a Duncan/Robinson type of pairing.
I think Howard and Griffin are too similar. Not saying it wouldn’t be amazing to watch, but I would want Howard to go to a team where he would help everyone’s numbers improve. I know Griffin avg’d 12 boards and Howard 14, but I think those numbers would actually go down if teamed together. Griffin has the ability to avg 15 a game, but not if Howard is there. Two post players would be great most games, but I think in some ways Howard being there would hurt Griffin’s overall ability to grow. I think both players need the post to themselves.
So teaming him with someone like DMC who has a very different skill set would help everyone on the team. DMC isn’t the rebounder Griffin is, and he doesn’t have his athletic ability either. Those are two things Howard obviously excels in. Howards ppg would probably go down, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing as he seems to get a little frustrated playing on a team that sometimes goes ice cold. Then there is Evans, who loves to take the ball to the hoop. He’d get a lot of dish off assists, and when he misses those crazy layups Howard will be there to clean up. Teams guard the lane against Evans, but if Howard is down there, that won’t happen.
Add Thornton or a PG in this or next year’s draft and when Howard is a FA, the Kings could be very attractive with all of the extra cap room they have. . .

ilike.panochasParticipantNo way in hell is Howard going to small market Sacramento, might as well stay in Orlando. I think the Clippers is a realistic destination for Howard, I think Griffin will attract top free agents to play along side he and Eric Gordon.

Sasha4MVPParticipantIf Ibaka continues to develop, OKC could be looking at a big four with Westbrook, Durant, Harden, and Ibaka. And of course, they will have Perkins in the middle. Solidify their bench and erase Westbrook’s ego and voila we have a dynasty.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/11/2011 - 11:17pm #530892
johnecoParticipantHoward dominates the paint area, and he would not be a good match with a paint-centric PF like Griffin, despite the dunk fantasy that would be. He needs teammates that will create space for him.
Him and Gasol would be scary as hell.
Even him and Amare would work now that Amare has extended his range.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/11/2011 - 11:41pm #530894

TheFactionCoalition.comParticipantI don’t think Howard’s issue with Orlando has anything to do with market size. . .in fact Howard seems more like the type of guy to go against the grain than some of the other stars
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/11/2011 - 11:59pm #530896

CodySLCParticipantI wouldn’t call Rubio, Boozer, or Lopez superstars by any means. Boozers an Lopez have all-star potential but that’s about it.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/12/2011 - 3:07am #530904
mj23mj23besteverParticipantrose boozer and noah arent they a big 3 noah would have been an all star this year had he not been injured and if people are saying rose and boozer as a big two why isnt noah making the bulls have a big 3

Moon RiverParticipantThe word is the Bulls made a stronger offer to get Mayo at the deadline than Indiana but the Grizz’s owner has some sort of issue with the Bulls and Jerry Reinsdorf and basically said he would not let Mayo go there. World Wide Wes might have to get involved to make this reality. Agreed though- Mayo in Chicago would be an excellent fit.

kevnix5ParticipantGriffin and Howard would be ridiculous together add a pass first pg to that team and watch out. Just imagine the alley oops. Eric Gordon would be able to get open shots constantly. As far as Griffin and Howard not being able to play together, thats something I bet they would be willing to find out. Alot of people said James and Wade wouldn’t be able to play together and I think they have proved those people wrong (not a Heat fan, just saying they made it look easy against the Celtics). Howard and Griffin would be virtually unguardable, especially if Blake continues to improve his range and face up game.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantI see Paul in NY, and see him getting frusterated withthe lack of defense!
I see Howard going to the Nets, or LA (could you imagine him and Blake together?)
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/12/2011 - 5:21am #530918
B FreeParticipantI would like to se Howard go to Atlanta, be a home town hero and still have a shot at a title with Joe Johnson and Al Horford.

mikeyvthedonParticipantI love how this is about super TEAMS, and they are all trying to come up with three names. Super teams do not always have to be based off of three players, at least that is not always how it has worked. Their is such a thing as having depth though, and having a solid bench can cause a lot of problems for a trio of talent as anything. LeBron and Wade are incredible, and Bosh is to me the best third option in the league, but I still think if they play a team like the Bulls or the Mavericks, they will be challenged.
I am not sure whether star trios will be the new trend, it happened once with Boston and than again with Miami, but I dare say, it will be hard to beat Miami’s trio without a pretty complete team around them. Boston luckily had some nice young players around them in the beginning, Leon Powe and James Posey were instrumental to their championship. So, I would think that while "Big 3’s" are being seen as a needed device to beat the Heat, going the route of gathering as much depth as possible might be a better way. Any trio formed will have a very hard time beating the Heat’s trio, just on the fact alone that LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are two of the three best players in the game.
So, whatever trio does form, they better have some solid back-up, because they are going to need it, and that is how their championship will be built. Teams are more than 3 players, as much as those 3 players may be the most instrumental part in their being in a position to compete. But my guess is that if a team beats the Heat, it will be because of 3-10 rather than Wade or LeBron. Not to mention, no matter how good their third wheel is, he will have to make up for the slack of how either LeBron or Wade is killing your first or second banana. I think people forget that when coming up with this theory of 3, that more than likely, whatever two guys you have as the best players on your team are being thoroughly outplayed by the two best players in the game. Even Wade and LeBron need help to win, but they are still going to more than likely kill any duo they face.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/12/2011 - 9:24am #530986
Memphis MadnessParticipantNot sure those trios are "super teams."
I am buying LeBron-Wade-Bosh as a super team. 2 top 6 or 7 guys in the league along with a all-star power forward.
I like the Thunder with Durant (superstar 1), Westbrook (superstar 1a), and Ibaka (not the scorer, but is a Mutombo-like defensive presence).
The Grizzlies will have a good trio, perhaps not super but still good, with Randolph, Gasol, and Gay.
Up in Sacto, Tyreke and Cousins is a good start. Brandon Knight would be a good piece.
In Minny I like Kevin Love, Derrick Williams, Rubio, and whatever they can get in a trade for Beasely. Since Love and Rubio aren’t that athletic then they need to play with an athletic 3 so I like Derrick Williams more than Beasely. … if they draft Irving then Irving and Love would be a good combo. Then they would need to deal Rubio. If they could trade him to the Knicks for their pick (17th), Landry Fields, and Shawne Williams that would be a pretty good trade for Minny. Irving, Fields, Wes Johnson, Shawne Williams, Randolph, Darko, and Love would be solid. At 17, maybe Biyombo falls. At 20 (their own pick) maybe they take a look at Shelvin Mack who could provide instant scoring off the bench.
Wall and Javale form a good young combo in DC. I will be interested to see what they do with their draft pick.

mikeyvthedonParticipantI think any scenario of getting Dwight Howard would have to involve Al Horford. Unless they get a third team willing to move some major pieces, I do not think Orlando, or the other team for that matter, relents and takes Josh Smith over Al Horford. I think the scenario where Howard would end up on the Hawks would include either Johnson and Smith still being there, or I just do not think it will happen.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/12/2011 - 11:30am #531030
B FreeParticipant@mikeyv If Dwight is going to leave beggers cant be chosers, and I think a combo of 2 picks Josh Smith, Jamal Crawford Zaza, and Marvin Williams seems to be as good as any other realistic offers, I really just think it would be cool for him to go home and play for is home town team even if he waits to sign as a free agent.

darko4prezParticipantI think you are really undervaluing Artest, Bynum, Noah, and Chauncey.
For fun I’ll say
Paul/Gordon/Griffin
Durant/Westbrook/Howard
Wall/DWill/Mcgee
