Where do you guys think he will go in the draft. I think he is going to be a late first to early second rouns pick. He is a 6’5 pg that can lock down any pg when he want to. He has a 7 foot wingspan. To me he can be a Tyreke Evans type of player.

What are some team that will take him.

    First Round:

21 to Portland: can learn to play pg from Andra Miller for 2 years

23 to Houston: they can use a young player like him that can play 1 or 2

26 to Dallas: can learn to play pg from Jason Kidd for 3 year

    Second Round:

35 to Sacramento: have a big backcount with him and Tyreke Evans both can play the 1 or 2

37 to LA Clippers: can use a player like him

39 to Charlotte: they need a player like him

41 to LA Lakers: they need a pg that can stick the pg because they are killing the lakers and he can develop has a pg

He can be a All-Star down the road if he work hard and become a better shooter. Sombody going to fall in love with him, doing the combine workouts

He’s got upside and talent but I dont see him as an All Star or 1st rounder, he will be one of the steals of the draft because of where you have to get him and will be solid in the future

Iman Shumpert will not be an All-Star or at all like Tyreke Evans, but I agree that he could be a solid player in the NBA. He reminds me of another Georgia Tech point guard in Jarrett Jack in terms of his defensive ability

I never said he will be Tyreke Evans. They are similar type of player and they have same type of game

    He can avg 20p 5reb 5a 2s and that all-star number

He is a 6’5 pg that can handle the ball like Tyreke Evans

They both dont shoot the ball that good

They both pass the all good to be their size

    They both rebounder the ball

Evans was a much better finisher than Shumpert. A guy who can’t shoot, struggles to finish in the paint, and is a mediocre distributor is not a promising combination.

I like Iman Shumpert, but I think I would compare him to Tony Allen.

A good defender that can play PG/SG/SF.  He got some passing ability but not enough to turn into a full time PG.  He got long arms that allow him to defend SG and SF and he’s quick enough to defend PG.  His long arm defense looks pretty impressive.

His jump shot is not there yet (same for Tony Allen).  He’s all around and can do everything from scoring, rebounding, passing, stealing.  If he can focus on defense and play his role on offense, then he would be a very good role player that can help teams win.

    • 21 to Portland: I don’t think, he would go there. Drafted Johnson & Williams last year.
    • 23 to Houston: Can’t see him playing over Dragic as a backup for Lowry.
    • 26 to Dallas: Where would he fit? Kidd, Barea, Terry, Stevenson.
    • 35 to Sacramento:  This is ideal only if the Kings do not go PG in the 1st.
    •  37 to LA Clippers: Not a chance if Willie Warren did not play.
    • 39 to Charlotte: Possible with Livingston being the only backup PG.
    • 41 to LA Lakers: Possible, but he would be hid in street clothes.

Tony Allen is a good comparison, but he’s not quite as athletic. That’s the only difference really. I like that comparison alot.

I think Shumpert is REAL rough around the edges offensively. He’s a guy who can’t shoot consistently but has shown flashes of making shots, is a very inconsistent decision maker and playmaker for others but has shown some promise as a guy who can create on the move for teammates in spurts at a time, and even though he’s shown some skills off the dribble as a scorer and playmaker he’s mostly been erratic and inefficient at both. He also was WAAAYYYY more ball-dominant than any NBA coach will let him be. Who will let him dominate the ball AND not be a polished or efficient scorer or playmaker? Shumpert is a question mark to me. He’s not really a winning player, but he does have alot of unharnessed talent. I’m convinced Coach Hewitt got nothing much at all out of him in 3 years, and it’s a shame because he has near All-America talent if used and developed correctly.
