valentineWhat do you guys think of this trade?
*These are next year’s salaries
L.A. Lakers get: Wilson Chandler (5mil, resigned), Arron Afflalo (3mil, resigned), Raymond Felton (7mil), Kosta Koufos (2.2m) = 17.2mil~
Denver Nuggets get: Andrew Bynum (15mil), Shannon Brown (2.4mil) = 17.4mil~
The Nuggets get a guy they can start fresh with and resign Nene. They have young pieces and in about two years, after some contracts expire, they can sign some players and have a core of Lawson, Gallinari, Nene, and Bynum.
The Lakers get a much needed PG with Felton. Afflalo, a guy to backup Kobe that can play D and knock down shots. Wilson Chandler can play behind Ron and can score/rebound off the bench. This trade also adds much needed athleticism and bench scoring. Not only does this help their depth, it also makes Steve Blake and Matt Barnes good trade assets. The Lakers could also sign Kenyon Martin for a veterans deal.
Denver Nuggets
- Lawson
- Smith – Brown
- Gallinari – Harrington
- Nene – Andersen
- Bynum – Mozgov
Los Angeles Lakers
- Felton – Fisher – Blake
- Bryant – Afflalo
- Artest – Chandler – Barnes – Walton
- Odom – Martin – Caracter
- Gasol – Koufos

i’m jus so offendedParticipantThe Nugs already had the chance to possibly grab Bynum, but I’ll tell you what, I kinda like this trade for both teams. Actually nicely done. Except one pretty HUGE problem with these contracts. You really think with the year Afflalo has had he’s going to sign for only 3 MIL????? Kenyon Martin is going to sign for the VETS MINIMUM???? I’m sure the dude loves winning but he’s still got some years ahead of him and can get on last nice sized contract…SMH….Thats not happening and if Ray Felton is making 7mil, I think Chandler warrants atleast that much as well, he can get more money from somewhere like the Nets or Kings….If the salaries actually matched, then this is the best trade I’ve seen for a minute, though still very flawed. Lakers get WAY younger, get a solid PG and wing guys, but lose sooooooo much size. Nugs have a core of Bynum, Nene, Gallo and Lawson….actually the more i look at this, this is stupid, Lakers are not going to do this unless they get like Mozgov back or one of the draft picks the Knicks sent the Nugs

NYK2010ParticipantChandler is better than Artest. Chandler I think he gets more than 5 million unless he wants to sign with the Knicks or maybe Pistons because he’s from that area.
J.R. Smith won’t be back with the Nuggets most likely.
Shannon Brown is a nice bench player but he’s not great, Bynum is a potential great player but his health is a big concern. Also he could leave after 2 years is he worth all that?

kobyzParticipantBynum is for sure not the one that gonna be traded, if someone will it’s Gasol, so stop with Bynum trades talk, Lakers depending on him for the future, he is young, he has all the talent in the world, he had fantastic season and Lakers will not gonna get a better value for him.

theEDGEParticipantWhen the Lakers trade Bynum to the Nuggets you bet your behind that they want Nene.

bmawhinney20ParticipantThe Lakers wont trade Bynum unless they are getting a star. I could see them trading Gasol instead of Bynum now. Gasol has issues with Kobe and after not playing up to his standards in the playoffs he could be gone. Magic Johnson said they are gonna trade Gasol Bynum or Odom and the Lakers may value Bynum over Gasol.
