jjonzParticipantI know its hard for Durant to get open because of his weakness, but Westbrook does not make the right play most of the time. Durant should be Iso-ed @ the end of the game take the Ball out of Westbrook hands.

FastAndFuriousParticipantDurant is not calling for the ball or even acting like he wants it!

BKKnicksfanParticipantDurant is the better player, doesn’t have the number one attitude.
Westbrook has the more dominant personality

jjonzParticipantI’d rather live with Durant taking 30+ shots, than having RW making crazy decisions

Cardinal_FanParticipantIm not gonna challenge Durants attitude becuz its the coaches job to make sure his SUPERSTAR player gets a touch every possesion down the stretch of games like this. Westbrook is not even looking 4 Durant, Westbrook is outta control and imo he thinks he’s Derrick Rose……

FastAndFuriousParticipantDurant does not feel comfortable with Allen checking him and it’s obvious, Westbrook is outta control and needs to tone it down, but Durant needs to be more vocal point blank.

NiceWithTheRockParticipantI wouldn’t say he doesn’t have a #1 attitude. Maybe I’m over analyzing but at one point Durant got the rebound and hesitated to give Westbrook the ball and started downcourt. He did however stop and pass when Westbrook completely stopped and called for it. Maybe he’s a little frustrated w/ RW because I didn’t notice this passive attitude in game 2 @ OKC. But regardless, KD is averaging 30 a game on 50% shooting in the playoffs. There’s no reason for him to not have the ball at these moments.

jjonzParticipantHe should have no problem with him

FastAndFuriousParticipantAllen is physical as hell and Durant doesn’t like it

Cardinal_FanParticipantA PG’s job is 2 get his best player the ball in the spots he likes on the floor. Westbrook is passing as his last option and its absoluetly killin the Thunder, How is Durant suppose to stay in rhythm if he’s not touching the ball????
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/07/2011 - 2:03pm #529377

FastAndFuriousParticipantMan it’s obvious Durant didn’t want no parts of Tony Allen today
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/07/2011 - 2:05pm #529379
jjonzParticipantthats why PG’s like Rose/RW have to be 1st options on offense. DWill Made Nets shooting % rise by 5 points because he lives to get guys the ball in spots they like.

jjonzParticipantAt his Draft workout he could’nt lift 185. i did’nt think that was important until recently when it was reported that KD can’t fight through screens.

andxxxParticipantRussell Westbrook is looking more and more like Stephon Marbury and that isn’t good
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/07/2011 - 2:17pm #529388
jjonzParticipantHe’s young so i hope he can overcome negative part of his game.

LazarusMunozParticipantIt seems like the sucess of this season with him breaking out ,the world games and being voted an all star has gone to his head somewhat… I wonder if he’s trying to be more dominant since KD was the one getting all the hype and media attention and Russell wants to show people he can be the man here
But man RW was really bad down the stretch here…terrible shot selection, still turning the ball over alot, the fouls, and just being a black hole
He started out the game really well to racking up dimes and showing a little better show selection, but then wheels came off for whatever reason

ghrghrParticipantTony Allen is denying Durant the ball in his favorite spots and KD is a guy who needs to get the ball in good position to be effective, he isn’t a guy who will take the ball way outside the 3 pt line and dribble for 20 seconds to create his shot. He is best off two or three dribbles, and that is good, because he doesn’t hog the ball like other ball dominant scorers, and bad because he needs someone to feed him the ball. There were some plays you could see Westbrook looking for Durant, but he wasn’t there, so then he takes a terrible shot.

montauriush4ParticipantHe try to complete with Kevin Durant to much. He will never be better than him

NickWayne87Participantis actually a pretty good one i think…..

speedevilWestbrook has the better match up vs. Conley, compared to Durant vs. Allen.
Westbrook can create off the dribble. Durant is a catch and shoot player.
Durant is the superstar, but Westbrook is coming up.

surveParticipantI have been reading all this criticism of RW and the comparisons to Marbury. Let me say…Westbrook has good point guard skills, just as Marbury (who was somewhat underated IMO) did. Its just that they are better scorers so on teams with not as much consistent firepower they tend to take the scoring leads. What little Marbury played for the Celts he showed I think the playmaking ability he had because scoring is something that he did not need to do. He wasnt even a 5th option. You see the same thing with T-Mac in Detroit. These guys are great players but because they are so good offensively, people underate their other abilities. Westbrook will get better, but you have to remember, he is option 1A on this team and dont forget that when Durant was injured this year, OKC rolled right along without him and Westbrook probably gained the confidence that he could carry a team, I think early on he was getting more MVP buzz than Rose because they were without Durant for a few games. You have to remember, there is a 24 sec shot clock, almost half of that is used before you get into your offensive set. If option 1 is being denied for even a little bit….then option 2 or in this case 1A….which is your point guard at that…will be aggressively looking for his shot….IF….he has a scorers mentality. Westbrook is a good player and has good PG skills. He is NOT Chris Paul or Deron Williams when it comes to pure PG skills. Neither is Rose…but Rose is still MVP. Westbrook is still a better point guard than Tyreke Evans or Rodney Stuckey…guys who are true combo guards.

NYK2010ParticipantWestbrook can’t shoot like Durant esp. not on 3’s.
Odd that Westbrook has this type of game a day after Rose had a career high 44 pt game.
I think the Grizz will win the series now after stealing Game 3.
