OhCanada-ParticipantDoes anybody know when Nick will play in the NBA, and if he will next season. With the lockout it is unlikely but how about after that. I believe Minnesota still owns his rights, and he could be a good NBA role player imo. Kind of reminds me of a rugged Beno Udrih when I watch him play.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantHe signed a three year deal in the summer of 2009 and the Mavs control his rights.

khaled_a_dParticipantyes,the Mavs owns his rights,he had signed 2 years contract with an option for 3rd year ,he made his buyout NBA friendly to keep his options open he is doing well overseas, gained some strength and experience ,not sure who I would compare him too but he is a very smart player and has a very good length for a guard As a Mavs fan I am not sure when we will bring him,but if I’ve to guess then I will say in 2012 when Kidd contract is over

Cardinal_FanParticipantI doubt that he ever cracks the Mavs rotation. My biggest concern would be where do you play him??? I know he played some point in college but i dont think hes athletic enough 2 guard 1’s or 2’s which are the deeper postions in the NBA. Its not that i dont think he can play becuz Calathes has game, i watched him play alot at Florida. But the NBA is a different beast. Could he beat guys off the dribble and the turn the corner??? Hes a good shooter, but is his shooting good enough to where he earn everyday rotation minutes with that being his role??? I just dont know. I think the longer he stays over there the harder it will be to play in the NBA becuz there are potentially really good wings coming in ecspecially in the next 2 years such as Harrison Barnes, Jeremy Lamb, Quincy Miller, Brad Beal, Austin Rivers, Mike Gilchrist, Adonis Thomas, Terrence Ross, Doron Lamb, Khris Middleton, Kris Joseph, and William Buford.
