If only Joe Johnson would have signed with Chicago

    Noah-Boozer-Deng-Johnson-Rose

    Asik-Thomas-Gibson-Korver-Bogans-Watson

what a team they’d have cuz honestly all Chicago is missing is a wing who can create his own shot…relying on Rose to do it all will this team

adding Joe Johnson would lose more than just Brewer. Bulls wouldnt have room to get Korver or Watson if they signed Johnson. But I do believe Bulls need to try their hardest to upgrade the position this summer.

Not sure if that would have ever been a possibility. Besides not being able to sign a lot of other guys that they now have, I don’t think the Bulls could have gotten Johnson. No one could have matched what Atlanta paid for him and I’m not sure many teams would have if they could. Johnson also signed fairly quickly during free agency while Lebron and other more important guys were still waiting to make their decisions.

theyre a very good team right now but it remains to be seen if that position can hold up against the likes of kobe, ray allen, and dwayne wade. if they could land someone like jamal crawford or even jr smith, it would be a major improvement

I like the jr smith suggestion if thibs gets him to buy in on the defensive end and he can work on that shot selection, but i guess thats what coach karl has been trying to do for the last five years

I think the Bulls need to push as hard as they can to sign Afflalo this offseason if they price is right. His outstanding defense fits Thibodeau’s system and his ability to hit open three’s and penetrate when needed complement Rose and Deng perfectly. Lets just see if they can pry him away from resigning with the Nuggets.

They wouldn’t have been able to sign boozer if they got joe….plus joe is so ball dominant, i don’t see him fitting in well with rose

    Johnson could’ve signed straight up

Korver would have been the MLE

    Bogans is on a minimum

Thomas is on a vets minimum

Watson was a S&T deal so he worked out

You guys dont read do you search the web before you judge

You guys keep talking about the bull’s defensive system.  One question where do Boozer and Kyle Korver fit into that?  As a Jazz fan i seen how much defense they both played Kyle tries boozer plays defense like a matador.  The only difference between utah boozer and chicago boozer is chicago has Noah to bail Boozer out and Utah didn’t/doesn’t have a defensive stopper.  Plus how long til bulls fans get tired of his act and his mysterious lingering injuries.  Not to mention he disappears completely around playoff time.

Rose-Wade-Lebron-Noah-Gibson with Asik and probably another solid power forward would have been better.

They could have signed LeBron, Wade, AND Bosh, but even if they haven’t the BIG FOUR of LeBron, Wade, Rose, and Noah would have been awesome.  Gibson would play the 4 and Asik would have given them front court depth.  They probably still could have signed Kurt Thomas, and brought over Big Z to go along with CJ Watson and either Keith Bogans or Kyle Korver.

Or they could have tried to go after Amare to put out a starting lineup of Rose and Wade at guard, and LeBron, Amare, and Noah up front.  Asik would give them a few minutes off the bench at center.  CJ Watson would still give them solid minutes at backup point guard.  Then you sign 5 D League guys.  With that team I don’t think you would really need a bench.  Maybe a couple of guys who could score 5 or 6 a game.  That starting 5 should give them 100 points by themselves.

I’m debating if you are the real Sheen. You should read more and you would learn that the MLE is only given to teams that go into the offseason without capspace. They got Watson in the sign and trade because they had capspace. Also, no one is saying you could not have signed Johnson. You couldn’t have signed some of the other guys because Johnson would have eaten up a chunk of that space.

Please don’t overrate one good performance by Johnson and a horrible one by the Bulls. Can the Hawks beat the Bulls? Sure, but I doubt anyone seriously believes that a team led by Joe Johnson is going to win it all. For as talented as Johnson is, he tends to have bad shot selection and he has his occassional ball stopping moments. Sure Boozer has been awful this year as well, but when the Bulls went into free agency I think they probably liked their chances with Boozer better. At the time he added a more important dimension than what a guy like Johnson would have. Don’t forget that they have went all season stringing Brewer, Korver and Bogans into a serviceable SG that also led them to the top record in the East.
