xbadgerhustlerParticipantKyie Irving is a better prospect than Brandon Knight? I just don’t see it at all. I feel like Knight has way more upside.

BKKnicksfanParticipantIn terms of point guard, Irving is the best point guard in the draft. He’s fast, he can run a offense, and he makes players better around him.
Brandon Knight isn’t a pure point guard. Knight is a combo guard, with the ability to play point guard. Even going back to high school, he wasn’t a pure point guard, he was more of a scoring point guard from what I saw.
To make comparisons, Kyrie Irving is somewhere between Chris Paul, Mike Conley and a little bit of Kenny Anderson
Brandon Knight reminds me of Kendall Gill a bit

xbadgerhustlerParticipantKendall Gill? really? No doubt he’s not as pure of a PG as Irving, but I just don’t see the elite athleticism from Irving thats necessary to suceed in the NBA. I think the Mike Conley comparison is fair, and probably the best comparison I’ve heard so far. CP3 is just on another level IMO

BKKnicksfanParticipantYea, Kendall Gill. I think he could be a point guard, but a scorer with some passing ability. Kendall Gill or a little bit of Jason Terry.
Irving has the athleticism to be alright, but the thing people forget about Paul is his jumper. CP3 is fast, but it’s that jumper that gets people.

xbadgerhustlerParticipantexactly, his athleticism is ‘alright’. Chris Paul is much more than his jumper, although he definitely has a J. I’ve never seen Irving have the same kind of fire as CP3.

OhCanada-ParticipantIrvings athletisism is good. Just because he isnt dunking on everybody doesnt mean he is a bad athlete.I think Derrick Rose, and Russell Westbrook has really risen the expectations of the athletisism withn PG`s. Irving is still explosive, quick and agile enough to get the job done.

xbadgerhustlerParticipantrose, westbrook, rondo, d will. Another comparison I like for Irving is Jrue Holiday. Irving is more of a pure point and holiday is more of a defender.

sheltwon3ParticipantMike Conley is pretty athletic but he is not on the same level as Rose and Westbrook but neither is Chris Paul who is just very talented and crafty while also being very quick with solid speed.

TallmanNYCParticipantIrving shot a much higher percentage than Rose (from the field, three, and FT) during their one year of college ball. They both had about the same number of assists, but Irving scored more points per game. A point has to have the speed to get to the rim and to create enough space for a high percentage shot. Once you have enough speed to function, then it is more important to make the right pass, get teammates going, and make your attempts and a nice efficient rate when you decide it is time to call your own number. Irving really looked like he could pretty much do it all. But we did only see him for about 10 games.
Don’t get some excited about Rose’s highlight dunks. Instead be shocked that Irving shot 46% from 3 as a freshman.
