LazarusMunozParticipantLet me first describe my situation to you guys…My wife recently filed for divorce after 15 years of what i thought was a really great marriage.Yes,I messed around on the side and went to jail a few times, but what marriage dosent have its ups and downs…Since shes a woman and women always get there way in divorce procedings im gonna need some extra cash now since ill probably have to pay child support for two kids that I honestly dont even think are mine(i still kinda love them though).Im probably gonna also have to find a new home and car and Big Lots, where i work as junior cashier, isnt gonna really support my lifestyle now
Tale of The tape:
Im 6’1 and i played small foward in high school for a Catholic basketball league.I was honarable mention all city for small schools in my senior year…I play much bigger than my size since i have abnormally long arms(the result of my mom tying me by my arms to a tree when i was a kid when i did bad things, which was often)…I have slick arsenal of post moves, can step out and make a 20 foot jump shot, my passing could use some work by rebound very well for my size.my defense isnt what it use to be since i had a meth habit for five years that has kinda zapped my stamina and quickness…Since this is gonna be a weak draft where most of the top players are going back to school I was thinking with hard work, proper training, and even a little help with photoshop that mean i might get invited to a camp or i can send out my practice tapes to GM’s across the NBA and i might sneak in the second round.
I wanna know now is how i do i declare….How do i go about setting up a press conference to announce my intention?how to i get my name out there, how do i get Tim Grover to come to my house and help me work on my conditioning
any help would be appreciated guys
Lazarus “Spanish Thunder” Munoz

hiphopismylifeParticipantCall that high school football player from a few years back who commited to Cal over Oregon at a press conference when neither school had ever heard of him.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 4:00am #526068

M-DYMESParticipantYou could call in a terror threat to the white house. That might get you some media exposure. Possibly some airtime and then you could declare and let teams know you are available and willing to die for your squad.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 4:17am #526075

mikeyvthedonParticipantI do not think you can declare, as the date has passed for draft entry. I know April 24 is the early entry period, but I also believe it is just the last possible day to enter your name into the draft. I know there are always a list of names of people who have filled out the necessary paper work and entered, pissing off scouts and Jonathan Givony alike as they now have to find out if they are legit players.
I googled it, and as I expected, to enter next years draft, send a letter to the NBA’s headquarters expressing your interest in entering the draft. They will reportedly send you the paper work necessary for doing so. Might want to leave out some of the things you have written on here. It says that the forms do have questions about your academic and criminal history, and other things interesting to NBA scouts. It says if you fill all of this out 60 days before the draft you are golden, so, no draft this year.
Next year, go right ahead. Also, I have to say, you are the only person on the board I am actually scared of and scared for. Take it easy.

LazarusMunozParticipantthank you Mikey….that kinda sucks i have to wait another year…i think i could be of value to a team like Golden State who could use an undersized small foward! Anyone know how to get on a Euro team.
That might actually be the best thing for me.I can be stashed away in some two bit league in EUrope or Spain and i could dominate over there and that will help my draft stock the next year
How do they pay you in Europe? it better be dollars cuz idk what i would do if they paid me in there funny money

LazarusMunozParticipantno guys seriously i have GAME…ive been scrimaging with the local high school JV team and im a monster on the glass and im hitting a good 35 percent from behind the arc….I know The NBA is tougher, but seriously it cant be that much tougher….I mean Steve Nash looks really small out there,i could easily guard him

LeroyJenkinsParticipantಠ_ಠGTFO0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 4:30am #526082

mikeyvthedonParticipantThat would be the best way to get on some kind of pro team. I have a feeling that you will have to change positions, and you will have to improve your shooting. 35% is not going to fly. Plus, they pay you in Euros, so that "funny money" is worth more than American dollars by quite a bit. The problem is, they do not always pay, that has been well documented. Other foreign leagues would more than likely pay you in their local currencies. The fact that you are using "funny money" as a term probably is a sign that you do not have much of a future overseas. I know the D-League has open tryouts, but I think you are severely underestimating the skills and work these guys put into their game. Guys like Nash, Hinrich, heck even Chris Paul, do not look like much in person, but on the court, they are terrors to defend and are in amazing condition. It is hard to defend something you can not stay in front of, and it is hard to stay in front of these guys. But, get an agent, and good luck. I know people with agents, who played college ball, that have had no luck getting a job playing basketball.

OhCanada-ParticipantThis threads hilarious, even Jamario Moon went through more leagues then letters in your name before getting considered for an NBA roster. If your lucky you could make a roster in Afghanistan ha.

M-DYMESParticipantCan I be your agent. Im tryina hop on this gravy train before it takes off.

TheFactionCoalition.comParticipantMake a sex tape. . .with David Stern, that may get you a shot
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 4:38am #526089

JoeWolf1I think you are seriously underestimating how good NBA players are especially since most small forwards you’d be guarding are about 6’7”, but a lot of D-League teams do hold open tryouts.
If you are serious you gotta walk before you can run, the NBA won’t roll out it’s red carpet for a 30 something player who used to have a drug problem, but there are smaller leagues you can try out for and if your game does the talking you’ll have the opportunity to move to better leagues with more money.
Just thowing out an example of a player who will not get drafted in this weak draft.
Tyrel Reed of Kansas, 6’3” 195 ( undersized for a SG) 40” vertical 2 year starter on top 5 NCAA team where he hit 176 3 pointers in his college career.
beating up on high schoolers won’t cut it when there are starters ( many more than Reed) on top 25 schools who won’t get drafted in the 011 draft.

McDunkinSign with McDunkin Management Agency laz. Have you ever heard of the names Ryan Reid, Ricky Sanchez, Dijon Thompson, Rickey Paulding, Matt Freije, or Sergei Karaulov? Probably not. but they were all drafted thanks to the helping hands here at MMA.

LazarusMunozParticipantWow an agent thats a good idea…i think a powerful agent would wanna get up all on this since im mexican and theres not any mexicans in the league. I dont think that Eduardo guy is mexican,he reeks of being like whatever Manu Ginobli is.
One of the Texas teams would probably wanna draft me since i could bring in alot of mexican fans to the game who wanna see me play…i would probably sell alot of jerseys too
The NBA is all about entertainment nowadays and i would be a big box office draw…the hard working everyday mexican who made it all the way to The NBA!

0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 4:50am #526095
LazarusMunozParticipantNo no way no NBDL or whatever it is called for me! they play in front like 25 people a night and they probably dont get any play after the games…they probably have to get hookers to get them to come to there motel rooms
I know for a fact im probably better than guys like Steve Novak…and have you seen GIlbert Arenas this year? hes been horrible. I would come much cheaper than Agent Zero and i wouldnt cost as much…

0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 4:55am #526101

RUDEBOY_ParticipantThere might be a chance for you to carve out a career overseas if you’re serious…
Get some footage of yourself playing in high school or in some individual workouts and send them to an agent who will help you find work..There are tons of agents that are geared toward helping European and Italian League prospects….
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 5:01am #526107
LazarusMunozParticipantyeah i taped a bunch of footage of me doing drills, one on one play, full court five on five and some other stuff like where i go one on six against half the JV team, also i show my charisma too,im doing all these sweet karate chops and karate kicks after i sink a free throws or a three pointer
I need to work on interview skills the JV coach said…He said im using the F word way too much and i cant call a reporter a Jackhole just cuz i dont like the question

RUDEBOY_Participantdude you do karate kicks after a free throw? do you look at the camera and fa/rt after you make a 3 pointer?

don’t forget us little guys when you get that big contract!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 6:23am #526130

HaleParticipantYou missed the date, you can enter next year. Here is how to do it though.
How to enter the NBA Draft
1. Write a letter expressing your desire to enter in the NBA draft (I suggest doing this in early March). You can find the address on the Fan Relations page of NBA.com. Make sure you meet the criteria to make you eligible for the draft. (Being 19, entering 60 days before the draft).
2. Wait about 2 weeks and you will receivea ltter in return with paperwork to fill out. It will ask you for previous schools, measurables and stats. Fill this out and make sure to send it in as quickly as possible.
You are then eligible for the NBA draft.

ZEOParticipantlets see some footage
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 7:51am #526177
LazarusMunozParticipantIm serious about the karate kick, chops,n the semi moon walk im trying to fit in…You guys see The NBA is really no different than something like American Idol or WWE…ENTERTAINMENT sells more than your skill level nowadays! The fans wont really care if im not playing defense, there ass is gonna be in the seat because when i hit a free throw im gonna do The Crane like in The Karate Kid right in Lebron James face
Im gonna be the new breed of NBA player
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 7:57am #526182

TallmanNYCParticipantMake sure you edit that footage so it looks like you never miss. Throw in some 40 foot jumpers (don’t worry just keep shooting them until you make one, then reuse that footage a few times by mixing it into game footage). How could they not draft a 6′ 1" slow guy with mad range? You could bill yourself as the second round Mexican Jimmer! It can’t fail!
And if they don’t draft you, then it is racist. Sue them for being racist against Mexicans.

ProudGrandpaParticipantChop your legs off and dominate the paralympic games. Then maybe you’ll get an NBA tryout.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 8:22am #526195
Memphis MadnessParticipantPut out some youtube videos. Do some of those Ricky Rubio moves. Make some behind the back passes and some reverse layups. Play in some play ground games, surely you can get some highlights there. Then just show up one day when the Cavs are auditioning all the guards such as Kryie Irving, Brandon Knight, Jimmer Fredettte, and Kemba Walker. Next, drop 50 points on all of them and steal the ball from those guys. If you destroy those guys then you have a chance. lol
I think that NBADRAFT.NET should have a summer league camp, kinda like the Vegas Summer Leagues or like the Portsmouth Invitational. Or do a full-scale semi-pro summer league. I am sure you could get some sponsors. It would be fun to watch. I mean, what are we supposed to do in the summer? Watch baseball? lol

We invite a bunch of prospects and then they play against teams of users. Once they have beaten everybody, they have to face the “All-stars”-McDunkin, IndianaBasketball, NoMoney, Rudeboy, and OJJ, along with BothTeamsPlayedHard, BKKnicks, yupyup, DanEboy, OhCanada, MikeyV,and WizKid. Aran coaches. Tongue-Out-Like-23 who I think is about 13, can be ballboy. Talk about major revenue.

LazarusMunozParticipantoh dont worry ive thought about a lawsuit if they dont invite me to the NBA draft…ive already sued the NFL for not inviting me to The NFL draft combine, ive sued The NHL for not having me on the all star ballot and ive sued The WWE for not letting me run in the ring during an episode of Monday Night Raw
Man i got all these cool effects im gonna add on my mixtape that im gonna put on YouTube…After i go in for a layup im gonna have the ball explode when it goes thru the net

LazarusMunozParticipantOh God no,not The Timberwolves…I have respect for myself.Id rather work at Burger King again the work for David Kahn and Timberwoles
The teams id prefer to workout with, that would be suit my abilities, are Orlando,Boston,Los Angeles,San Antonio,New York,Cleveland, and Golden State
And no team better not bitch that i wear a shirt under my jersey…if they can do it in college then i dont see why i cant do it in The NBA
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 10:00am #526228

mikeyvthedonParticipantMaybe, he definitely would have the height advantage, and I am sure he can ball. I would be down, just as long as all I had to do was play basketball and not have to make any arrangements or have any part in the organization. Plus, Lazarus, since you are claiming to want to make the NBA, it is maybe a little to early to be acting like a diva. That is a quick way to get you singled out and blackballed from any basketball whatsoever. Take what you can get man.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 10:09am #526234

HitsterParticipantOffer to be signed up by an NBA team to use as trade bait, take a none guaranteed minimum deal that only kicks in when you are traded. You are used as a trade makeweight, waived and walk off with a pay out.
