Charlie SheenParticipantThe refs have been horrible for Game 1’s I mean its the playoffs this isnt a game prior to the All Star break or late season when your resting guys no this is the Playoffs and they’ve been really bad thus far
Magic/Hawks- Dwight’s techinal was BS
Knicks/Celtics- A couple of those fouls on Melo were terrible
Not to mention they show a lot of favortism the Lakers, Heat, Celtics and Bulls all can play physical without worrying about foul trouble then can push bump do pretty much anything they want but teams like the Knicks, Trailblazers and Sixers get penalized for trying to play hard.
Its pissing me off and I really wanna see hardcore physical 90’s basketball where the scores in the 85’s and guys are going hard at eachother but the refs loves blowing their whistles and need to let them play

TdotWave11Participanti understand what you mean. Refs missed a blatant goaltend just now in the OKC/DEN game.

DanEboyParticipantThis has pretty much been going on forever. Superstars get the calls.

SteroidParticipantKobe hardly gets the foul calls he deserves. Refs think just because he is getting his shot off or he isn’t going 100mph, he isn’t getting fouled. Outside of Dwight, Kobe is probably the one superstar caliber player that doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt like others.
The basket interference probably cost Denver a game. A ref just can’t let that slide especially in a playoff. They need to review that just like how they review other calls.

SupParticipantLakers didn’t get any favoritism.

KayjayParticipantAin’t no crying. I agree with what you’re saying, but this is the playoffs. Its win or go home. If freethrows are frustrating players, they need to find other ways to contribute to the game on the defensive end.

sheltwon3ParticipantThe NBA fixes games by how the ref calls games. Miami Heat won a championship because Wade got a lot of foul calls. It is also said that earlier in Jordan days when he became the face of the league that if you touched him it was a foul.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI see what you are saying and I agree. Star treatment is not what officials should be doing. I understand that some calls are hard to say but this is blatenly obvious, how do you miss it. They really need to have some kind of reviewing system like they do in the NFL with the "red flags". I know it will make the game longer, but honestly I don’t care as long as the games are called right and its fair to even the "little" players. Maybe the NBA does not need to have "red flags" exactly but at least something similar so that official actually review questionable calls or batently wrong calls.
I see this all the time and especially in the playoffs and I really hate it, because the stars are just as much to blame if not more to blame. I hate star treatment. Every player should be treated the same, star or not.

MuggsyParticipantWouldn’t be sports without the referees, good or bad they’re always blamed in any sport. Blame your players not the refs. I mean seriously, even if a ref was "paid off" he can’t make players miss shots, and he isn’t the one stealing/blocking the ball or making bad passes/plays, that’s the players. I just always find it interesting when someones team loses they completely ignore the fact that their team probably sucked it up that night and deserved to lose, yet they blame the refs.
