canesboy6ParticipantThese are my guys who are flying under the radar right now.
1. Jeremy Tyler- People forget this was the original number 1 player in the 2010 class. Tyler is a physical freak, and has elite tools for the Center position at the highest level. When a guy like Brendan Haywood makes 60 million and Dampiers last contract was 80 some odd Million I believe, you start to realize the premium the league places on bigs. True Centers dont grow on trees and In my opinion Tyler has the physical ability of the upper echelon guys. He could be a top 5 center in the league.
I understand the character concerns, but I think his ego has probably been humbled by the relative dissapoint of his pro career so far. His production in Maccabi was terrible, and I have no idea what he has done in Japan, but Tyler is a 19 year old kid with 2 years of pro ball under his belt and I havent heard anybody mention his name in the first round. He is top 5 in this draft on tools alone, and too great of a talent to slip out of the first round. There will be a strong Organizion in the 20’s that sees his potential to store overseas for a while, come into a disciplined locker room, and be a dominant center.
2. Travis Leslie- I cant believe how little love this guy gets on the site. He is a physical specimen who is a late bloomer and can play either wing position down the road. He has a crazy wingspan, is strong as an ox, and explosive. His numbers are very surprising. Playing in a loaded SEC East, he led a 2 man team to the NCAA tournament. He Avaraged 14.4 pts on 49% shooting and just 11 shots per game, and averaged 7.2 rebounds from the wing, 3 ORPG which is crazy for a wing. On top of that, he shot 80% from free throw, and had over a 1 A/TO ratio. His weakness is the three ball right now, but he has shown progress and his free throw shooting give hope that he will extent his range because he obviously has touch. I think that a GM in the teens could fall in love with him. Plays with a junkyard dog mentality and has tremendous upside as a defender at the very least.
3. Chris Singleton- Singleton is a legit 6’9 and change in shoes, and can defend 4 positions at the NBA level. He is a great mix of NBA read but still having alot of upside. Teams that already have primary scorers will love him because he is a tremendous off the ball player. Still can’t really handle the ball well or do much off dribble, but he has range on the three ball, is a lockdown defender, and a beast on the break. Florida State has been unbelievable on defense since he got there and its no cooincidence. He has the physical tools to not be overwhelmed by a guy like Lebron or Durant or Dirk. There is a definate value to guys like Singleton, they aren’t easy to find.

Lotto StudParticipantScotty Hopson warrants some recognition don’t you think?

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantI know Faried may still be a first rounder, but I really like this guy. I think the Ben Wallace/Dennis Rodman comparisons are dead on. Some team is going to be very lucky to have him as an energy/defense/hustle guy.

delfamParticipantJustin Holiday, every team needs an elite defender, he should have a long career in the league

B FreeParticipantI think Tyler is considered a PF at 6’10 240 I don’t think he has True Center size.

IknoBall12Participanti think he can be a fierce rebounder and defender on the league. maybe a serge ibaka type. also like chris singleton. i dont think he will be a superstar or anything but i do think he has the potential to be a great 3rd option on a contending team. I have 2 big men and a guard that i think are sleepers though:
Jordan Williams PF from Maryland: i think hes a really good banger. He carves out space with his body and is a pretty good scorer down low. He gets to the free throw line very often and though he shoots terrible he has great form and the coaches in the pros will really work to get that right. He isnt the greatest defender but uses his body well to frustrate offensive players.
Trey Thompkins PF from UGA: I think thompkins also has a good shot at making a name for himself at the next level. He has a good wingspan and hes very good on the offensive end whether its facing up or playing back to the basket. Even showe d alittle bit of range throughout his career by stepping outside the 3 point line. Hes a pretty good rebounder but he uses his wingspan more rather than actually blocking out. Decent but can get better defensively but puts his wingspan to good use.
Nolan Smith combo guard from Duke: I had to get one of my guys on here and i just feel hes the one who will have more of an impact form the jump. Nolan is a guard that can flat out score and if he gets put in the right situation i see no reason why he cant become a Jason terry type in the NBA. Hes a capable defender and doesnt have to dominate the ball to get his points. He improved his 3 point shooting over the years and though i dont think he will ever be a pure point guard neither is derek fisher and look how many rings he has?

Jimmy Butler

capecodderParticipantAgree with Butler……but how about Jackson Emery?

omphalosParticipantJosh Selby. He just officially declared for the draft. This kid was considered one of, if not the best in his class. A team with two first-round picks should take a gamble on Selby, he endured a lot of off-court drama on a stacked Kansas team, but if given a chance he could still be a stud.
I agree about Jeremy Tyler, unfortunately the PF position is surprisingly strong in this year’s draft. Could be a steal for a team like Boston who needs a young PF as a long-term replacement for Kevin Garnett without being forced to start Big Baby Davis. Rondo, Green and Tyler could be a solid core to build around. I’ve been keeping tabs on Tyler, and his coach in Japan has NBA experience and has been preparing him for the draft, expect him to move into the first round at least after workouts.

pbothwelParticipantJeremy Tyler is also 250+ lbs and very athletic while possessing a standing reach of 9’2.65". For reference that is higher than Bogut, Kamen, Okafor, Brand, Hawes, Aldridge, Gortat, Tyson Chandler, Favors, and Nene. He also posted these measurements at 17 or just turned 18 so he could have grown a little. I’d say he definitley has Center size.

BasterdInABasketParticipantJimmy Butler will be on an NBA roster next year and will be a solid role player because of his versatility.
I still think Demitri McCamey will be a decent PG. As a 2nd rounder if you put him in the right situation and develop him behind an established PG he could be a starter eventually.

AKOOParticipantIf Darius Morris stays: I think he will be on the level of Andre Miller one day.
Corey Fisher: I still see a lot of Kyle Lowry in him.
Jimmy Butler: I think he can one day be as high as the 8th man on a playoff team.
Travis Leslie: Honestly, Mario West is on a NBA team. He has atleast 3x’s the talent of Mario West. I have made the comparison to Jason Richardson which I think is possible, but Desmond Mason is probable and Mason was a contributor to some good teams.
Jordan Williams: I think he can atleast rebound. Averaging a double double as a sophmore in the ACC is nothing to ignore.
Tobias Harris: Had a really solid year as a Freshman and will only get better.
Klay Thompson: Numbers are not far off of James Harden when Harden declared and went #3.

xavier328ParticipantTyler Honeycutt and Chris Singleton.
Both will be special on defense.

D-Rose1ParticipantI think Marshon Brooks could be a major steal in this draft. He dominated the competition in arguably the best conference in college basketball (he had no help on his team). Marshon has solid SG size, even though he could definitely gain some muscle to his frame. Marshon could be a very solid scorer in this league.
I think Kemba Walker is a little underrated even though he is still most likely a lottery pick. Theres just something about him and his game that is special. I think he will make an impact in the league.
I also agree with several above that mentioned Travis Leslie and Chris Singleton. Leslie is possibly the most explosive player in the draft and could be a very good player once his jump shot improves some more. And Singleton can be very very good in the league. His defense will be very valuable, likely to a playoff team since hes projected to go right around 20th overall.

surveParticipantwhen you say sleeper, out of the players I have watched this year, the first name that comes to my mind everytime is Reggie Jackson from BC. this kid is good and I think has the chance to be a very good NBA player.
I think Kemba is underated in terms of what he can do potentially with the right teams. He has things you cant teach.

surveParticipantJamie Skeen is underrated IMO.
Tracy Smith who played on a terrible NC State team is very skilled but definitely underrated due to being undersized for a PF.

TeamShowtimeLakersParticipantnolan smith, durrell summers, kalin lucas, jordan hamilton are all major sleepers.

richiedehnelParticipantI definatly agree with the Jimmy Bulter comments, look at what Wesley Matthews has done for Portland and Utah in his first 2 years in NBA, same type of player, and also Isiah Thomas from Washington

Providencefriars15ParticipantJamine Peterson could be a big time NBA player, he really turned it on when he got playing time at the end of this year for New Mexico Thunder Birds and dominated the big east while at Providence

iguapops420ParticipantWOW! I’m truely surprised at the lack of love Iman Shumpert is getting in THIS draft. He’s a guy a who can handle the ball and create his own shot. With his ability to defend and rebound at an elite level from the gurad position, mixed with athletic testing and measurements, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see him sneak into the first round. Coming off the ball and developing more of a go to scorers mentality has done wonders for him long term IMO. He’s my sleeper for the draft. My other names include Reggie Jackson, Josh Selby, Malcolm Lee, Keith Benson, and Jeremy Tyler.

IknoBall12Participantactually i dont think he is overrated at all. he was the main and focal poin tof a mid major team and took a lot of shots against good competition. he has the size to play the 3 but u can tell hes more comfortable operating out of the post. and he can hit the perimeter shot. i think with him its what u see is what u get

Jeremy hazell is quit underrated as well. He could come off the bench and provide a spark like Tony Allen on last year’s Celtics.
