KayjayParticipantThen I don’t want to be right. I feel very bad for the fans in Sacramento. I’ve been a Kings fan for some time now, lol even when that meant telling the truth about which team was my team. It would usually be greeted by…"Oh they are trash." "Didn’t you guys win like 16 games this year?" "Haha, you shouldn’t even watch the play offs, your team is long gone." But despite all this, I’ve watched the improvements. Sat back and watched the trades, the accquiring of players I never heard of. Wondered if the owners planned on trully making it a winning franchise. Now with them 90% possible of moving out of Sacramento to Anaheim, I couldn’t be happier. Why? Well I live Buena Park, not too far from where they will be moving. To me its like a dream come true. Living in Buena Park, I’ve mostly been confronting with whimsicle Laker fans. People who don’t even know Kobe’s jersey number, but speak as if they’ve been watching the Lakers for years. Lol you know what I’m talking about, the same fans that are declaring themselve’s to be Clippers fans because of Griffin? Yeah those fans.
Anyway, I’ve watched the last eleven or so games by the Kings. And I can’t help but feel excited. Knowing my team is coming down to Anaheim and them showing the improvement to follow next season will be exciting. I’ve seen other teams like the Thunder build through the draft and how they are an incredible team now a 4th seed and its exciting to know the Kings will more than likely follow suit. It can only get better if they choose the right draft pick this year as well. Laker fans will probably make their protest, but having the Royals (kings) will help out Orange county as a whole. Provide new jobs, awhole new out look on the entire area which I’ve been to many times. Ontop of that the Honda center is only 20 minutes away. (The place they will play until a new arena is built.) Orange county is totally different than L.A. County and I am in no way shape or form a Laker fan so yeah…
With all this being said, is it really wrong for me to want Anaheim to take the Kings from Sac-town?

KayjayParticipantIn fact, there are other teams that have to move as well. Which could mean Seattle could possibly have a team again, along with Sacramento again.

EGbball3ParticipantSacramento really has nothing to show ive lived here all my life and Seattle will get a team before Sac.

Lotto StudParticipantI have been opposed to us moving to Brooklyn for the longest but I have done finally giving up on us moving because all it has been doing is exhausting me hearing about we’re moving this year, we’re moving next year. The only thing I’m not going to like is that Prokhorov will change up the color scheme & team name from Nets.

JimmeredYaWabafetParticipantok by just going by nbadraft.net’s comparisons for Hassan and Omri, the Kings would be trading a young Marcus Camby,a young Hedo Turkoglu, and to lose a chance at Kemba,Jonas,Knight,Derrick,African dude,or Kanter to just get a old washed up player who wouldnt be around anymore when Reke hits his late 20’s,the trade is horrific i tell you horrific.

NashyMingParticipantSacramento really is not a good enough market for an NBA team. The fans are great, but business is business. It’s tough to survive there financially especially after the financial crisis and the fact that California gov’t should be bankrupted by now.
I am already calling them Anaheim Royals. Sad for the fans in Sacramento, but it’s time to face the reality. There shouldn’t be hard feelings there. The fact is the market is not big enough to support the team. I know a few guys who used to be Quebec Nordiques fans and they still follow and root for the Colorado Avalanche and hate the Montreal Canadiens. If you are a true fan, the relocation shouldn’t matter.
Seattle Supersonics to OKC Thunder is a special case though because the new owner was obvious there to steal the team away and the divorce was handled very badly. Also, Seattle is a much bigger market than OKC.
Anyway, the Kings have a pretty good core of young players and it looks like Evans and Cousins can finally play with one another (the chemistry earlier in the season was bad, but looking better these days). The Kings should be back really soon.
