There are a lot of lottery teams that could want Derrick williams, but not need him. I can’t say much but from what I hear his home is at the 4 but he feels he can play the 3. If i’m sactown and I have a hole at the small forward position, I’d more than likely take Derrick williams. Simply because Kyrie would be a pure point guard, and I’m not sure if Tyreke can play off the ball too well as a ball dominant shooting guard. Granted, he is young. But if you’re building around him, you want to make him comfortable.

But the main question remains, is Derrick williams a 3 or a 4?

If he feels comfortable at the 3, I say give him the position. I will say this though…there were a lot of big men last year that were combo big men. Demarcus cousins and Greg monroe are a few of them. And they turned out to be more power forwards than centers. So I wonder, maybe its the same for Derrick Williams. Maybe he is more of small forward. I don’t know. But what I do know is that he’ll be great to watch in the NBA. Just hope the Anaheim Royals/Sacramento Kings pick him up.

He is an undersized PF but that isnt a bad thing. He is a matchup nightmare for most PF’s in the league.

Kings would/should take Williams. Thornton is doing such a great job paired with Tyreke that bringing in another young guard would be daft if you can fill a legitimate team need at the 3. If Whiteside can develop into a younger Dalembert in a year or two they’d have a lineup of Thornton-Evans-Williams-Cousins-Whiteside, with Udrih, Casspi, Garcia coming off the bench. That’s a pretty solid rotation for the future.
