Reported that as signing period is winding down, Otto Porter decided to choose Georgetown over the thought to be heavily favored choices of Missouri and Kansas. Otto is a 6’9 combo forward many are projecting as a 4, who had a nice summer and a big time senior year averaging 30 and 12.6. He is going to be playing in the Jordan Brand Classic and he is probably only behind Anthony Davis as going from relative obscurity too one of the top ranked players in the 2011 HS Class. I have not seen him play as of yet and have been relegated to youtube highlights, but he has been getting rave reviews over the last few months. If anyone else has more information on Otto, it would be greatly appreciated and I am definitely going to tune in for the JB Classic and see what he brings to the table.

damn! Solid choice for Otto though, he’s an extremely skilled big that is in the mold of Jeff Green.  Played small school ball in Missouri and didn’t play AAU, but obviously he’s a high major guy if renown coaches like Self, Anderson and JT3 are going after him.  He’s in the Jordan game on the 29th(?) so we’ll get to see how he plays against the top guys in the country.

That really helps Gtown next year they are not going to be very good but the year after that they should be pretty good. (i know that a little into the future)

Hollis Thompson will be a senior

    Starks will be a Junior

    Lubick will be a Junior

and then with a very good class coming in this year with Porter (31 on ESPN, 97 on Rivals) , Hopkins(76 on ESPN, 79 on Rivals), Adams(54 on Rivals), and Jabril Trawick (78 on ESPN) they should have a pretty good team with some depth

This G’Town team could be interesting and resemble Notredame from this year

Starks will be a Sophomore, but I still think Gtown will have another solid year and make the big dance, let’s just hope they can get out of the first round.

^^ He was takling about in 2 years, hence Liubick a junior and Thompson a Senior. The problem with Georgetown is that when you hurry them up and take them out of the half court game they can’t score. That’s why VCU dominated them, that’s why they lost in the first round vs Ohio last year even with Chris Wright, Greg Monroe, and Austin Freeman. Also got upset in Roy Hibbert’s senior year. When teams stop their back cuts they struggle to score. Georgetown has not had a guy who can create for himself when things break down since Jeff Green which is why they made the final 4 that year. Hopkins and Adams are two quality bigs but again neither will ever be great offensive threats.  A lot is riding on Otto Porter to become a go to scorer as well as Hollis Thompson who has the tools but needs to find consistency.
