ORLANDO, Fla. — Danny Granger would have drawn considerable defensive attention in the Bulls-Pacers playoff series even before making a comment that also will make him a marked man. "Boston’s a different monster," Granger told the Indianapolis Star. "They don’t have the best record in the East, but they won championships. They know how to do it. They have four, five guys you have to worry about, from (Paul) Pierce, (Rajon) Rondo, (Kevin) Garnett and (Ray) Allen. "Chicago, they go as Derrick Rose goes. If you make a concerted effort to stop Derrick Rose, you have a better chance to beat them." The Bulls have been a self-motivated team all season, so they reacted mostly with a shrug to Granger’s comment. In fact, Rose agreed with part of Granger’s premise in brushing off a question about Sunday’s game against the Magic serving as a second-round playoff preview. "That’s if we get to the second round," Rose said. "I’m not looking that far ahead. We haven’t accomplished anything yet."
Thanks for indirectly acknowledging that Derrick Rose is the MVP, Granger.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI don’t see that as really a diss to the Bulls. I see where you get the idea, but to me its more matter of factly stated, so not really a diss. A diss is something you do on purpose and afterwards fans of the Pacers would probably say "Ohhh you got dissed." I wouldn’t say that after I read that quote, but just agree with him. The Bulls and Celtics are different monsters so I don’t think Granger did anything wrong here by "dissing" the Bulls. But, yes Rose is my vote for the MVP this season no doubt.

As Mikt Tyson once said,
"everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face."

OhCanada-ParticipantLol thats it is so true. I read those statements and just took them as ignorance. Granger should just be quiet so he can at least lose without shame. Chicago is not a one trick pony, they have Booz who can kill you, Deng who has been filling it up, possibly the best bench in the league, shooters like Korver, Watson, Bogans. They are nice.

Their bench being the best in the league?…That was one of the worst things i’ve heard all day. their bench is entirely mediocre, ranging from 2 decent wings to a banger who will get u 7 and 5
san antonio (george hill, dejuan blair, gary neal, matt bonner)
boston (nenad krstic, jeff green, glenn davis, carlos arroyo, troy murphy, and jermaine o’neal onces shaq is healthy)
dallas, denver, houston, indiana, lakers, memphis, miami, new orleans, oklahoma city, orlando, philly, phoenix, portland, and toronto all have better benches

Best bench in the league? What the hell?

Vivid5292ParticipantIf you honestly think that Boston has a better bench with all of those scrubs, then I worry about your basketball knowledge. The only true production comes from Davis. The rest of those guys look lost have the time coming off the bench. Chicago proved they had a better bench in their game against those guys last Thurs. Boston’s "bench" has no chemistry & can barely hold their own sometimes. Chicago’s bench isn’t the best but they hold their own defensively.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantSo did Denver’s bench die last night while I was asleep? What about the Spurs bench? The Lakers bench is even better. Thunder’s, Sun’s, 76er’s, Celtic’s, and Blazer’s bench all died last night?
And Vivid
"The only true production comes from Davis."
You can’t tell me these guy’s numbers, since they joined the Celtics, aren’t good.
- Jeff Green: 9.2 PPG, 2.7 RPG
- Nenad Krstic: 9.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG
- Delonte West: 5.4 PPG, 2.6 APG

OhCanada-ParticipantDenver has a better bench I shouldve said "one of the best", fact is Chicago’s bench shuts down other teams benches. You may look at the names and say, well those guys suck. It is a balanced effort, they play extremely nice defense, have players coming off every position that plays good all around basketball, and they are overlooked. this team would not be where it is without its depth and its bench.

OhCanada-ParticipantYou cant possibly think the Suns have a better bench then the Bulls can you?

DanEboyParticipantOhCanada is right. Their bench has come a long ways from the beginning of the season. The Bulls are a complete team from 1-11…and then there’s Scal. Asik, Kurt and Taj are very good defensive big men and Asik and Taj get a lot of offensive boards. Brewer and Korver have been playing great in the 2nd half and Watson has been solid all year backing up Rose.
Bulls are deep and everyone contributes.

OhCanada-ParticipantGranger needs to realize the Pacers will only go as far as he takes them. Just like last night it came down to Melo and Granger last 2 posessions, Melo hit the go ahead field goal, then granger had his go ahead attempt blocked by Melo. Game over.

KayjayParticipantRose may have the LBJ factor. Where you just might not be able to stop him, but like all stars…you slow them down contest every shot, and soon what was them taking 10 shots, increases to 30, and they’ve only made ten. Which makes the star shoot their own team out of the game because the rest don’t have enough touches to get anything going. In other words, the MVP is a curse for a reason. It means you ARE the most valuable player to your team. Which means when he isn’t doing much, where does the other offense really come from? Don’t get me wrong, Bulls are pretty beast but it still comes down to one thing…
Rose needs help.
