whateverParticipantRight now looks like Minny will own the worst record in the nba making them the team with the biggest chance of getting the no1 pick. But what would they do pick Williams or Irving, trade the pick for a veteran player or trade down in the draft? Suggestions

MichaelBeasleyParticipantI’m really hoping the Wolves trade there pick, or the player they draft.
The need for the Wolves is a PG and C. We got Rubio coming over next season and I expect him to do a much better job than Luke Ridnour(SMH @ this guy) so why would we need Kyrie? And Derrick Williams is another SF/PF type of player which we already have I aint even gonna say the dude’s name lol.
But Yeah I hoping we trade our draft pick or the player we get for a young defensive athletic center ala Deandre Jordan(I doubt they accpet)

torontoraptors10ParticipantIf Minnesota gets the #1 pick, they SHOULD draft Kyrie Irving and then worry about everything else after that. You don’t want to miss on talent like that.

whateverParticipantMaybe for Oden so the Blazers get to do-over their first draft pick? But i dont see that happening either.

Lotto StudParticipantI’m praying they get the #1 overall so they can ship Rubio a** before they announce the Irving pick. Hopefully he will come over so we can see about all the hype once he gets traded.

OhCanada-ParticipantOops wrong thread Barnes maybe available hes the best pick for Minni if Rubio comes over if not its Irving.

KingJames00ParticipantTrade Rubio and draft K.Irving

TyroberParticipantI think they should draft Irving and worry about the rest later. Then trade Irving or Rubio. Maybe they could get their 2011 pick from the clippers back, a clippers future first, and D. Jordan.

Charlie SheenParticipantLets be honestwe all know the draft lottery is usually fixed. Cleveland is pretty much guaranteed a top 3 pick because of the LeBron fiasco ala Washington receiving the 1st pick last year ala Gilbert Arenas’s mishaps. Philly got the 2nd pick last year because they needed a franchise player ala Allen Iverson Houston is pretty much guaranteed a top 3 pick then ala Yao Ming and his injury issues. The 3rd team last year was New Jersey so I’m guessing a team like Washington will pick 3rd. followed by Minnesota, Sacramento and Cleveland again in any order
Cleveland- Kyrie Irving
Houston- Derrick Williams
Washington- Enes Kanter

MrT725ParticipantI’d take the best player available at whatever selection they have whether it be Irving, Barnes or Williams. I think in terms of need, Barnes fits in best if Rubio comes over and could form a nice young core of Rubio, Barnes, Johnson, Beasley, Love, and Randolph. When you have only 15-20 wins you can’t be too picky on position…you gotta go for the best talent. After watching the Nike Hoops Summit I also want to see the wolves find some way to get Bismack Biyombo because with his strength, length, athleticism and defensive mentality he could be a very strong complement to Kevin Love. In addition to that I think the wolves need to add some sort of veteran presence in the offseason. They have a lot of young talent but need to learn how to win, kind of like when they added Terry Porter/Sam Mitchell when they had a young KG and Marbury years back. I’d like a guy like Shane Battier, Raja Bell or something along those guys anyone better than Luke Ridnour.

mds0549ParticipantI agree that they need to trade Rubio and draft Kyrie. Rubio still has a lot of trade value right now but that’s going to keep going down if he stays in Europe because of a lockout. Sign Dalembert and they have a totally new look

JimmeredYaWabafetParticipantIn the past 16 drafts, the team with the worst record only won two lotteries, thats freakin silly

NashyMingParticipantDraft Irving and trade Rubio. There’s no point hanging onto a guy that only verbally commit to your team while he really wants to play elsewhere. Also, trade Rubio while his value is still relatively high. I am disappointed at how much Rubio has regressed since the draft. His shot is broken and he needs to get that back or else he would get killed in the NBA because nobody would respect his shot and without the shot, his passing would be significantly affected (cuz people would play the passing lane instead of trying to block him on the perimeter).

Leftovers16Participanti highly doubt the Wolves will get the number 1… anyone from 2-6 can get the number 1 wolves will probably get 3rd pick… since 02 the 5th and 6th worst has had the number on 1, 5 times, so im banking on the Kings to land number 1 (kings fan) lol but the Jazz might land too… the worst and 2nd worst record has had it only 3 times since 02 so i doubt it…

sheltwon3ParticipantIrving is probably the best move for Minny but let’s be real, they are not trading Rubio so the thing they need to do is trade the pick for a true 2 guard, trade Flynn, and also trade Beasley. Beasley stock is high as it will probably be right now but I repeat long term he is not the answer. Webster can play sf and they have Johnson to back him up.
Also their is no Center in this draft that will make them better. Jordan has a better upside than Darko but my unbias opinion is as of right now, he is not much better. I am saying this and I like DJ Jordan. Minny will continue to have a collection of young talent and no team if they dont start drafting needs and putting the right pieces together.
Actually regardless if they take Irving maybe they can sell that Rubio and Irving can play together crap lol.

BiggysmallsParticipantI hope its either Barnes or Irving. Would it be possible to deal Rubio for another top pick and land both of them? As unlikely as that is, its realistic to think that with Rubio, Beasley, Flynn, the Grizzlies pick (probally 18) and a future Jazz 1st there are enough assets in place to package a deal to get 2 top 5 picks. If the wolves could come away with Barnes and Irving, they could be awefully exciting.
If I have to pick 1, its Barnes…barring Rubio’s decision. The pick really hinges on his decision to come over. If you add Barnes and Rubio plus a quality player at 18, the wolves could have an interesting young core.

OhCanada-ParticipantBiggy Smalls as much as I hate to say this I thought about who would be willing to trade Barnes fo Rubio and…Toronto probally would be. An all Spanish backcourt reeks of marketing value in this city. If it hasnt already been established that Toronto is the place to go for international talent itb would be after that.

kobyzParticipanttrade down and pick Alec Burks
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/10/2011 - 1:39am #519776

theEDGEParticipantCavs just take the best player, and deal with the rest.
Minnesota needs a center(Kanter) or a shooting guard( I would trade the pick in case the Wolves go this route.)
Rockets would need a legit center since Yao is holding up for a whole season and Miller is on his last legs.
Washington should be thinking SF here, with Wall at PG,Young/Crawford at SG, Blatche at PF and McGee at C.
Jazz, would love to see Barnes here.
