rtbtParticipantI’m old enough to remember how the advent of the 3 point rule changed college basketball. You will never see a better example of this than yesterday’s Elite 8 games between VCU-Kansas and Kentucky-NC. Both contests were extremely close while the difference in 3 point shooting was dramatic.
VCU versus Kansas
VCU made 12 out of 25 three point attempts for a fantastic rate of 48%
Kansas shot a meanger 2 out of 21 for an horrendous 9.5%
Kentucky vs North Carolina
Kentucky shot 12 for 22 for an astounding 3 point percentage of 54.5%
North Carolina shot an atrocious 3 out of 16 for only 18.8%

Scottoant93ParticipantVCU not only shoots a good perecentage from the 3 they also defend it well. Like people say "live by the 3, die by the 3"

afree15ParticipantI cried when VCU hit every three against georgetown (since the same thing happened last year with Ohio U)

rtbtParticipantThink about how small the margin of error is when it comes to three point shooting. Check out Kansas yesterday. Instead of shooting an absolutely horrendous 2 out of 21 from the 3 point line, imagine if they hit only 5 out of 21. It would still be a terrible percentage, however, they would have scored an additional 9 points.
And then imagine VCU hitting one less three pointer, shooting 11 out of 25 instead of 12 out of 25. Kansas would have won the game.
