Where does he go in the draft?

    Cleveland

Will he go first overall? I think he has the potential to be the best player, but I do not know if he earned it. He played in 11 games. He dropped 31 on MSU, 28 on Zona, and 21 on Butler. Other than that he has 19 points or less for the other 8 games (his low is 11 which is good for a low). He averaged 3.2 assists if you take out his two 9 assist performances against Princeton and Colgate which were blow outs and basically just games to pad his stats. If Cleveland gets pick #1 I think their better off taking Sullinger or Williams and than looking at Knight at #8. If they get pick #2, 3, or 4 and Kyrie is available than I think he can be the choice.

    Minny

They have Ridnour who could be good off the bench, Flynn who has had a down year coming off a major hip surgery, and Telfair. Add in Rubio possibly coming over and I don’t think they really need a point guard. Their better off going after Sullinger or Williams, or maybe even Kanter since Darko definitely isn’t the answer at Center.

    Washington

Would you want Irving backing up Wall or Wall backing up Irving? It would definitely be nice to have that depth, but they have other needs.

    Sacramento

Keep Tyreke at SG and Irving/Evans could be a dynamic duo at the guard spots and they could build off that. This is the first option where he really fits in my opinion. He fits in with Cleveland as well, but I don’t see him as the #1 personally.

It really all depends on the lottery, but as of now I think he goes to Sacramento or Cleveland if the Cavs have pick 2, 3, or 4.

I really agree with you about Irving. Great point. I didn’t realize his assist numbers were so unimpressive. He is gauranteed to be as solid a pro as anyone in this class but I don’t think he’ll be an elite scorer or a top assist man. He’s probably an 18 and 7 guy to me. I agree they would be better off taking someone likes Williams or Barnes, then a PG with that second lotto pick, because they’re relatively solid in the frontcourt with Hickson and Varejao. The Backcourt is a mess. Minny,  I don’t know that he’s a great fit there either, and the Wizards definitely don’t need him. Sacto (or Anaheim?) is the perfect fit.

Well with the assists, you have to keep in mind that he was sharing the ball a lot with Nolan Smith. If you watch him play you can tell he is a very good passer with excellent vision.

So wait a minute you think Minny would be better off going after another undersized PF in Williams or Sullinger?  You realize they have Kevin Love, and Michael Beasley who play PF for them right now, right?

Cleveland’s best player is Hickson who is a 6’9 PF, so going after Sullinger or Williams might not be the better fit over Irving.  I would say Cleveland should go after Barnes or Irving with their top pick.  Then depending on who they get go after Knight or Burks.

Obviously Washington would not be looking at Irving, but instead should be looking at Barnes or Williams.

Brandon Knight is a perfect fit in Sac-Town IMO.  Sac could also use some defense so looking at Vessely, Jonus V. or Henson should be an option also.

Minnesota also has Anthony "Mr Potential" Randolph, who dropped 31 and 11 last night

Yeah Hickson may be Cleveland’s best player, but you gotta think that they’ll take an upgrade at ANY position right now; though I think they should take a young scoring wing, ala Barnes or Jones. Sessions is pretty solid at PG when given minutes…

there is 8 more minutes in an NBA game plus they usually score on avergae 30 more points a game more in the NBA. With those things Irvings assists should be a lot higher in the NBA. Add to that he shared time with Smith and I don’t think he would have any trouble averaging atleast 7 assists.

I like Kyrie Irving to Cleveland, he’s 1 of the only SURE, Defined position players, he’s producing after being out an extended period time, just think what more he couldve done if was healthy and was given more grooming under coach K. The guy is sure with a high ceiling, no one has doubted his skill once this yr hurt or healthy. everyone else has their knocks but the scouts salivate at this kid, come on

it’s not like he had much time to gel with his teammates and learn the system, his assists probably would have went up as the season went along if he was healty. And Kemba was been in the same system for 3 years, so his assists should be higher.

Sometimes you have to look past his stats, or stats in general. If we are just going by stats, Kyrie averaged more pts(17) and assists(5), and shot better from the field(53%) than Derrick Rose did in his only college season(14pts 4.7 assists 47.7%). Just going by stats, Kyrie is better than Rose, but Kyrie’s sample size is very small, only 11 games total.
