Lotto StudParticipantI completely understand that the whole trade deadline situation is about Melo, but why is it we are not hearing about other deals/players in the making on t.v.?
We know whoever gets Melo will improve their team, but I would like to know what other teams are looking to improve their roster as well.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantNot sure why somebody would neg rep you for that but…From what I’ve been hearing and reading there really isn’t anything major brewing other than a Melo trade. Iggy had been mentioned in talks for a while but with the Sixers playing well I don’t think they’re seeking to trade him like they may have been before. Most teams (Boston, Orlando, Miami, San Antonio, even Dallas) seem content with the pieces they have in place and aren’t looking to make a major play. Especially with a lock out looming teams don’t seem as eager to take on any big contracts.

NJHooper95ParticipantNo one wants to make a move until the Melo drama unfolds. There are some teams secretly hoping they can get Melo and they dont want to move any of their place in case their dream comes true.

SwatLakeCityParticipantBlazers were going to be big players, but with the injury to Marcus Camby his value decreased and therefore Portland lost interest in trading him. They were trying to get Speights from Philly but once again Camby’s injury derailed that. Then they tried trading Miller to the Nets for Devin Harris, but the Nets were too involved in the potential Melo trade to even notice. In reality the biggest trade chatter is for Melo. Portland made a little noise but not much.

ilike.panochasParticipantPlayers that are available and can help a contending team are: McGrady, Kirk Heinrich, TJ Ford, Tyshaun Prince. I’m not a Laker fan but I think Heinrich or TMac is perfect for that team, specially after Ramon Sessions dropping +30pts on Laker PGs, They can really use a defensive PG like Heinrich to go against the top PGs in the West. But I doubt any moves are made at all.

Meditated StatesParticipantAs a C’s fan I do not want to see that. Perfect fit to that team. Mcgrady neither. T-Mac would fit in the triangle well.

Lotto StudParticipantI would like to see T.J. Ford on the Heat roster come Thursday. He would be the perfect facilitator Bron Bosh & Wade need to contend for a title.

OhCanada-ParticipantIve been saying for a while Hinrich would be the perfect player to fit the Lakers Gaurd positions. Shannon Brown may seem like alot to give up but in reality Hinrich would provide alot more then Brown does on a team with a defensive presence already established.

Soulrebel15ParticipantChris Broussard more or less said on Mike and Mike this morning. That most teams because of the pending CBA is not will to add unnecessary money to their cap it they don’t have to. Because of the uncertainty of the CBA teams are not gambling on players who have large contracts, which they might not be able to eat/trade after the new CBA is agreed upon.
