i mean it could happen but i feel that every star player with less than 3 years on his contract was rumored to go to NY….

dont count it out but remember that the knicks wont be able to sign everybody!

If the knicks get carmelo, they should focus on getting Deandre Jordan. In this years draft they should draft Brandon Knight for pg/sg or Lucas Riva as a Center.

If they can not do that then i suggest they trade the pick into next years draft. Ex.

bill walker, and 1st round pick to washington for mcgee

walker and 1st rounde pick to Boston for Avery Bradley and 2012 frp

walker and 1st round pick to sacramento for donte greene and 2012 frp

Well if the Knicks get Deron Williams in a trade they can extend him easily.

Jazz would be smart to trade him if he request a trade and not do what the  Nuggs are doing.

BTW whoever said the Nets would give up multiple picks, Favors and Harris for DWill in the other thread is clueless.  That wouldn’t make much sense anyway.  The Nets won’t win anything with DWill and Brook Lopez and a bunch of average bench players.

I still think the Knicks should stay the course and not give up the farm for Mello, especially since he still hasn’t committed to the Nets even after the meeting.  Now Denver is requesting Mozgov too seriously they want the whole team outside of Amare now.  No need for the Knicks to give up Gallo or Mozgov both have potential and are under contract cheap still.  No guarantee on landing Paul or DWill.  I’d still rather try and land a big man instead of an upgrade at PG or giving up all those pieces for Mello.  Mello isn’t Larry Bird or Michael Jordan he’s not worth all this even with Amare they won’t get to the Finals unless they can add a Center and some bench players.

Is this REALLY confirmed CBS? With associates? Who is associates? associates WHO? I would love to see Deron Williams come to New York but come on, the media would say anything to pull ppl in. The guy already said he is going to address his future when it is time to.

Sources, it’s on ESPN now as well. I think it’s true, not because I’m a Knick fan, but because he’s been looking to get out for a while now and Jazz fans know this.

I do know one thing from one of Dwill’s teammates, if Melo does go to the Nets he is very interested in joining him out there when his contract is up and the team is in Brooklyn

I’m willing to bet he told someone " i wouldn’t mind playing for the Knicks" just like he wouldn’t mind playing for a couple of other teams but of course someone took that and changed it to " I want to play for the knicks".  Personally I’m not gonna be naive enough to believe anything that anyone says ( teammates,Sources etc) unless DWill comes out and says it. Of course you will have people who never learn and will continue to believe everything they hear regardless what the past has shown us with so called sources.

I would rather have paul, stoudamire, and melo. they can’t count on the draft since 2012 is a rockets pick. they really have to focus on the 2011 pick. at their slot i would take brandon knight, Riva, Thompson.
