These don’t involve Melo or Wallace or anyone like that but 2 simplish trades. The new W’s owner has been itching to make a move and has not kept it a secret and says he wants the playoffs this year no excuses and wants to make a deal. We are currently 26-29 through the AS break. Same as the year we upset Dallas then we made the Harrignton and Jackson trade

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4fsdxbh

GSW – Jamison would provide a veteran off the bench we so desperately need right now. JR becomes our 6th man that we lack and Carter is a throw in

CLE – They trade for expirings to start blowing things up

DEN – I know JR is an expiring and so is Gadzuric but nearly 8 mil of expirings is more then nearly 7 mil. JR and George Karl never have seen eye to eye either

    2nd idea

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4bm7udy

GSW – This is to clear salary, Andris has worn out his welcome and has been a big dissapointment. I’m willing to say if we had the Andris of 2007-2008 we’d have a winning record but we don’t . This is a guy who once lead the NBA in double doubles…… Diop simply has a shorter contract and Mcguire would only be around for a quarter of a season. This gives us a chance to start Udoh as well, he’s already eating into Andris’ minutes (and a lot of them lately and being in at crunch time)

CHA – MJ seems unwilling to blow it up so getting a rebounder on that team can help them in the playoff chase. Even though Andris doesn’t score anymore or grab 12 boards a game Charlotte lacks a consistent rebounder and need shot blocking.

2 parts of this trade that tie together is Diop and Tawn’s 2 year deals. Lacob (the new owner) has constantly been talking about getting a superstar. He was part of the Celtics ownership when they got KG and Ray. In 2 years Dwight/CP3/DWill will be free agents. Not saying we can get one of them but I believe he will try. Those 2 contracts will be over 21 million dollars of expirings. Add that with Bell’s 4 mil in expirings and they will have enough for a max contract and 1 smaller contract due to the hard cap likely to come in the new CBA

    Simple trade, big ideas 🙂

But in all realism I think for the now this can put them in the 8th seed but the team would still have holes

    Trade idea 1:

So Cleveland is going to give up, pretty much their best player for 2 guys that wouldn’t even play much.  They are going to go from bad, to even worst by trading their best player.  Might as well wait it out 1 more year when they’ll have Gibson, Moon, Jamison, Graham, Samuels, Harris as free agents, and guys like Paul and Deron Williams will be out on the market

And Denver is giving up JR Smith for…. nothing?  Denver can get ALOT more for JR Smith than simply an expiring deal.  They can easily get James Johnson, Kurt Thomas, and Keith Bogans from the Bulls if they wanted to.

But with the Cavs do they realistically think they can attract a star? And Boobie has a 3 year deal, he wouldn’t be a free agent .

JR Smith has been on the market a long time now, part of the reason he hasn’t been dealt yet is that teams won’t give up a lot for him cause of his attitude

Gibson has a team option in his 3rd year.

The thing about Cleveland is, they are in no rush to rebuild.  There are no franchise changing players in free agency this off season except for Melo but we know he’s not going to Cleveland.  There are no franchise changing players in the draft this season.  They have time to wait because they aren’t in a position to make moves fast anyway.  So them giving up Jamison for expiring deals would be a waste of time.  All they need is time right now.  This year isn’t a great year to rebuild.

Would GSW really want Diop who is out for the year?

No Smith hasn’t been traded because he is too amazing of a talent to just give up for nothing.  He has been hurt and inconsistent this year but they know what he is capable of and haven’t gotten a trade they felt was good value, plus they know if Melo is traded Smith is the type of player who can bust out and carry a big burden of the scoring load.

I honestly think GSW’s best bet to get better is too trade Ellis.  I love Ellis and his game and this he is underrated but his plus minus numbers are horrendous and the team plays better when Curry does most of the ball handling not to mention he is stuntin’ Curry  growth.  Curry could be averaging 22 and 8 right now if he didn’t have to share the load with Ellis.

I think as soon as the keys are handed over full time to Curry that franchise is going to take off.  They just are never going to be able to seriously compete with 2 undersized stick figures playing "guard" for 40 minutes a night when neither one of them can really "guard" the bigger scorers.

Steph right now is hurting himself, every game he makes some really dumb turnovers. I mean really dumb. Then forcing Smart to pull him and have Monta be the PG. He can’t average 8 assists right now cause he is having turnover and foul problems.

I think the moment we just give Udoh the center spot and find a decent bench we will will start being who our talent level suggests we can be. 4/5 of our starters are really good players. Problem is 2/7 of our bench players are decent.

To the JR carrying the load thing. In the proposed deal they’d get Gallo and Chandler, JR wouldn’t likely get a much bigger role then he currently has. Especially if Devin Harris comes over as well. Those 3 guys could account for the shots Melo takes.

1st trade: Great idea but Cavs would never accept it. GS would have to offer a few draft picks and then its a maybe. The Cavs just beat the Lakers! They’re on a hot streak and usually the main goal for any team in any trade is to get better not worse.

2nd Trade: Charlotte would love this deal. They finally get a decent starter instead of Kwame Brown or Diop.

I say the 2nd deal goes down, but the first is immediately refused no questions asked. Cleveland would not even consider it, cause it doesn’t help them at all.

How is something a great idea when you admit that the other team would NEVER accept it?

And Steph Curry is way more efficient, he shoots a higher percentage, from 2’s, 3’s and foul shots.  Curry got hurt and it took him awhile to get back into the swing of the offense especially with the breakneck pace Ellis will play at.  And at times Curry does try to do too much resulting in a turnover, but this is only his second year in the league, and Ellis still averages more turnovers per game then him.  But Curry also only plays around 33 MPG, compared to Ellis’ 41.  But Curry averages 6 assists per game and Ellis averages 5.5.  Meaning in 8 less minutes Curry get’s more assists and has a better assists to turnover ratio.  Not to mention Ellis has by far the worse plus/minus rating for any player who has been in the league more then 2 years and is considered elite.  I do consider Ellis an elite player but remember atleast 2 assists per game come simply from a drive and dish to Dorrel Wright.  There should be no doubt that if you give Curry them 8 extra minutes he will aveage 2 more points, a 2 more assists at least.
