That’s cool of Blake, but he didn’t take Monta’s spot IMO. Love is having one of the best rebounding seasons since Moses Malone and Duncan is probably the x-factor on the best team in the NBA.

Monta is a snub, but not that big of a snub IMO

That being said though I dont think SAS has 1 big star right now, maybe in name value but not perfomrance. Manu has been very good but when you look at a team with there record you expect there best players to be having crazy seasons but there not. They win through great coaching and defense more then individuals

Monta Ellis is the 15th best scorer on a 40 pace adjusted basis
His stats look so huge because he is playing enormous minutes on one of the fastest paced teams.
Timmy is still an all-star. He is playing less minutes and still putting up solid numbers and playing terrific defense which leads to 46 wins. Adding to this, who if not him should replace Yao Ming as the best west center?

Get a grip dude…Monta Ellis isnt that great or else that team would win game. Post a Non Pro-Monta discussion for once. The dude doesnt guard anybody and never wins games. He isnt even in the discussion with Duncan or Blake Griffin. Those are franchise guys from the past and the future.

And im sick of him being an "elite" scorer. Elite scorers are Carmelo Anthony, a guy whose never been on a losing team, even when he got drafty to that crappy Nuggets team.

So much hating on Ellis in this thread. If we’re going to be contradictory, like some people are in this thread, about calling Ellis a "loser", then I could name a few all-stars that shouldn’t have been all-stars in the past or in this all-star game. Monta is the main reason why GS is competitive, and that’s the reason why he plays so many minutes. I would be playing my best player a lot too if it gave my team the best chance to win. Fast pace offense my ass… You guys make it seem like you could just throw any guard in that offense, and they’d do what he is doing. You guys are fooling yourselves if you think that. I bet Monta could be an efficient 20 point scorer in any offense in the NBA.

Kevin Love has won his whole life in AAU, High school, and UCLA. I am sure the same can be said about Ellis. Just cuz he was drafted by a team who has hit a low point doesnt mean he is "a loser". If you work your tail off and come to the gym ready to play everyday you are not "a loser" simply because your team is losing. Are we going to call Adam Morrison "a winner" because his team won 2 championships?

Or Dorrell Wright, whose getting MIP buzz. No, its not just monta.
