I know it’s just a mock draft and the teams are subject to change in draft order, but I do have a few thoughts of the current position of players being drafted.

Kawhi Leonard- Curently the Clippers are drafting him with the 8th pick, the Clippers just drafted a player at the same position last year 8th overall as well Al-Farouq Aminu. I don’t see how drafting another small forward fits the team unless they trade one of the two away.

Jimmer Fredette- Going to the Bobcats, I know the Bobcats are currently considering Shaun Livingston start insted of D.J. Agustin. Drafting another guy that would play point guard is wierd especially that high at #10.

Post any other suspect players being drafted, these two were the ones that looks strange to me.

Just thinking, what position should the Clippers draft for?  They already have a PG and a good backup.  A SG and a decent backup.  No small forwards.  3 good big men in Griffin, Jordan, and Kaman.  Why not draft another SF/PF?

As been stated numerous times, the mock draft before the lottery is nothing more then a big board because we don’t know who will be drafting where yet.  I don’t know if this is the right format because we have big boards and mock drafts for a reason.  And I couldn’t see the Bobcats drafting Jimmer because of the Ammo fall out.

Another thing, to clear it up.  The mock draft on this site always sucks until the off season.

If I’m the Clippers I would just ask Griffen and Gordon who they want to play with. Those kids are the truth, you do whatever it takes to make them happy.

I don’t think you want to give that much power to Gordon and Griffin.  It will make the organization seem like they don’t know what they’re doing.

yeah, aran has said before that teams are not factored into the the mock drafts until the order has been determined, right now its just a basic ranking of players

I’ve noticed that until the offseason this site’s mock drafts are not according to need but more to best player available. But I actually think the Clippers could use a small forward. They more need a point guard to replace Baron Davis but this draft is not strong at the 1 instead at the 4. There is virtually no point guard that could 8th. Knight and Selby are best ones left but they could never replace Davis not in a million years. The clippers do however have the Wolves draft pick in 2012 which is for sure going to be a top 5 pick where they can benefit from Rivers or if Irving decides to stay and declare in 2012 then they can draft him instead. The clippers should draft a 3 because even though they drafted Aminu last year he is still a ways away from contributing because he still raw. The Clippers need someone who can come in right away and help out, while they continue to develop Aminu. Leonard would be a great player to do that and he also would help the Clippers on D which would help them to start winning games. Harrison Barnes is also another thought here.

With the Bobcats though I agree. Jimmer really would not be worth it except for the added offense that the bobcats desperately need. Right now I have the bobcats drafting Tyler Honeycutt who I think is just what the Bobcats need. He could backup either Jackson or Wallace and really help this team with the scrappuy play that will help them get more wins. Paul Silas would love Honeycutt’s play and so would MJ. Honeycutt is every coaches dream player. Not the most talented but does whatever a coach asks and does it well.

Currently I have Jimmer going to the Rockets who in my opinion would be better off with Jonas Valanciunas to help replace Yao but the Warriors are drafting him one pick earlier. Jimmer can help with the departure of Aaron Brooks who I think will soon leave because of the rise of Kyle Lowry who is currently starting over him. Brooks can’t be happy about that so he will seek a trade. Jimmer can help compensate for his absence and still give them the offensive help that Brooks gives to the Rockets.
