Yan111ParticipantBeing a fan of the player when he belonged to North Carolina, I’m very surprised by the rookie season of Ed Davis. I think he’s the most underrated player in this draft. He is already very effective in rebound and he will be better in time. Offensively he shows great moves as against Heat yesterday. I have the feeling that Raptors isn’t going to regret Chris Bosh for a long time…

omphalosParticipantThe only problem I have with Davis is that he plays the PF, which would be the ideal position for Bargnani if they can pair him with the right C.

OhCanada-ParticipantEasy solution for that problem, trade Bargnani! I was at the game last night and Andrea Bargnani didnt get have any rebounds, blocks, assists, or steals until he grabbed a rebound with 2 minutes left in the 3rd qaurter. He was on the floorn with Ilgauskas, Anthony, Bosh, not any notoriously physical guys. Thats just sad. He needs to contribute in more then one way. Davis is always down there in the block, looking for loose balls, and is an excellent interior passer. We see him make a ton of bonehead rookie mistakes, and he is not strong enough to gather some rebounds, and finish some takes to the basket but that should improve next year with a tough offseason workout. Davis is going to be a Noah/Horford/ type player when it all said and done.

sheltwon3ParticipantCanada who would you trade Bargnani for. I mean he is too good to give up for any ole center and he may not be a good fit enough for someone to give up a big man they really like. I think the future is looking more put Bargnani at the 3 Davis at the 4 and some big they pick up next year at the 5. You have DeRozan. You draft a good point. You let Caulderon deal expire or trade him when your young point get adjusted to the NBA game. They could move Reggie Evans, Keep Amir Johnson. Trade Barbosa but keep Bayless. They have enough pieces that they can get some quality people but they need figure out what direction they want to go in.

Meditated StatesParticipantMaybe get a draft pick and a few players. They are rebuilding anyways so they could take a early pick and use it. Davis is your future PF there. Bargnani is just a 3 point shooter/jumpshooter all in all. He has ok handle, but is not physical at all. He needs a team where he can just camp out and shoot 3’s. Raptors need a rebounding-Shot blocking 4. Davis is that.

OhCanada-ParticipantTeams dont want Bargnani, they are aware of his lack of rebounding, effort on defense, and his passiveness. He has the skills to be great, he has the tools to be a good rebounder and a great defender but for whatever reason he doesnt use them. maybe somebody feels like they can bring it out of them but Ive seen people lose their jobs and teams fall apart relying on Bargnani to be aggressive.
I would try to get a PG, or SF for Bargnani then somehow use the $14-mil Trade Exception to acquire a C like Kaman, Nene, Beidrins, Haywood, Dalembert, or any capable Center who is everything Bargnani isnt. Then Draft Kyrie Irving if we acquire a SF or draft a SF if we acquire a PG. Trades I would look would be something like…
Bargnani for Ellis/Curry- Goldenstate probally wouldnt accept this but if Toronto could pull it off it would be a miracle.
Bargnani for Harden, Aldrich, Pick-This would be a huge gamble for OKC but if they scout Toronto and Bargnani they would notice he actaully is a great post player when he sets his mind to being that guy. He can score from anywhere really. Put Bargnani at the PF in the high post and you could have some success. Aqcuiring Green would be the main goal but if not possible picking up some of the young talent OKC has stored away would be great. Harden would be a great starting 2 to stretch out the floor for Toronto, moving Derozan to the 3. Aldrich could be a great physical force and even if he came off the bench with a Pryzbilla type role behind Kaman/Nene/Beidrins/Haywood/Dalembert.
People see Bargnani’s stats and say well hes good he scvores alot of points. If the team didnt have Andrea Bargnani the record may not be that much worse. He is a 2nd 3rd option on a true 50 win team just like Bosh and just like Derozan when he becomes our 1st option, (unless he takes his games to next levels. We need Bargnani out of this whole system and we need to start from scratch.

OhCanada-ParticipantBtw Baylesss is horrible. He wont get a contract exension and he wont be in this league much longer. he takes horrible shots, over shoots passes, makes mental errors on defense, gets beasted, and he just sdoesnt get it at this level. All those skills yet he cant play make the right play at the right time, its like he all ready has his mind made up on what he is going to do before he brins the ball past the half court line. Him and Barbosa should not be here.

Snubs15ParticipantI agree with everything ohcanada is saying. Bargnani is a 1 dimensional player, and his offense is a 2nd or 3rd option on a good team. You cant win games with your 7 foot center playing 40 mins but only getting 5 rebounds per game. Look at NJ and look at toronto as perfect examples. I wouldnt care who toronto got in return for bargnani as long as it includes players who play defense and will help with the future. And yeh Bayless has alot of talent but his decision making is horrible and the raptors always tend to do really bad when hes on the court.
I think Ed davis will be a 15pts-10rbs-2blks guy in Toronto and him not getting in the rookie sophomore game is a crime. Hes playing real well right now especially rebounding the ball.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI have become a believer in Ed Davis. He caught a pass against the Sixers and spun so fast towards the rim I don’t even think he landed with the ball yet it reminded me of everything The Dream was trying to teach Howard over the summer only it seems to come natural to Davis.
Also Ed Davis’ production this season makes me believe John Henson can be successful also next year in the league as long as he adds some weight.

OhCanada-ParticipantYah I really think if Ed Davis had no wrist injury, had no knee injury, and was working out all summer/training camp/preseason he would be right there with Landry Fields as far as the rookie rankings thou. He finally looks comfortable and has recorded 13 boards, 14 boards, and 13 boards in his last 3 games against Portland, LA Clippers, and Miami. Some people woul even argue he won that matchup with Griffin coming off the bench.

Bossy13ParticipantThe Pacers are a decent trade partner for Bargnani. They have Hibbert holding down the middle and could use another scorer to take teh pressure off Granger. And even when they sit Hibbert, they still have Mcroberts to come in and hold the fort on the blocks. Andrea would fit in nicely over there.
Bargnani for one of their large expiring contracts ( dunleavy, foster, or ford), Hansborough and their first rounder. I’d ask for George instead of the pick but I doubt they’d trade that guy.
The Raps clear cap space and get two more pieces to either assist in the rebuilding or to use as trade chips at a later date.

OhCanada-ParticipantHansborough and Davis? That would be pretty cool. I think they would rather have the pick then George anyways for marketing gimmicks, (acquire Tristan Thompson or Kris Joseph in the draft), and Dunleavy would be the exact type of player Toronto would trade for anyways. Could also be a good out for Stephenson.
Stephenson, Dunleavy, Hansborough, and the 1st rounder for Klieza and Bargnani.

omphalosParticipantThe ultimate fit for Bargnani is Orlando. Plays PF alongside Dwight, spreads the floor like crazy and wouldn’t be pressured to put up huge numbers.
