Defensive rebounding, offensive rebounding, post presence, lane intimidation and overall post presence has held down the raptors since their first day in the league. This has always been apparent but tonight was just too much. Tonight vs the spurs down by 7 in the last 3 important possessions these were the lineups.

    Parker

    Neal

    Hill

    Jefferson

    Blair

    vs

    Calderon

    Barbosa

    Derozan

    Johnson

    Bagnani

In those 3 possessions Blair had 6-points and 5 rebounds 4 of which were offensive! Thats sad people and I dont know why our team continues to play with NO CENTER! Bargnani isnt even half the man he was last year on defense let alone rebounding and is being matched up with Richard Jefferson, are you kidding me. This is a complete embarressment, they didnt even close with Duncan. The worst part of all this is that nothing is going to be done, Bargnani will start at Center next year, and Toronto will likely dodge drafting Irving, Kanter, motiejunas and any other likely selection….Im a frickin raptors fan!

What if they draft Irving with the lotto pick and then Faried with that late 1st rounder from MIA?

Irving is the only acception to drafting a big with the lotto pick. The Miami pick wont get us a good C so it doesnt really matter. Id do whatever I can to pickup any possible young C in the league who is proven. Id trade Bargnani, the trade exception, Miamis pick, Amir, Bayless, and pretty much anything but DeMar and Weems for Gasol with an extension right now!

Irving, DeRozan, and Bargnani looks like a solid future and some players to build around.
If only they could rid of some of those scrubs and actually get some real players..

You can probably get a DeAndre Jordan or Marc Gasol in FA this year, then add Irving and another wing and you’re right there.

I gaurentee we arent getting either of them. New York is definitely getting one and how many teams do you think are going to be linging up to get a Center like Gasol. If New York fails in grabbing gasol they pickup jordan. I wish we could grab Gasol or Jordan, and I honestly believe that if Toronto grabs Irving, Gasol and a good unrestricted free agent we are a playoff team, but we will likely get like the 6th pick, some crappy Europeon free agent and nothing with the trade acception.

I thought they had Ed Davis and Reggie Defense and Rebounds but no offense Evans.  I think they are good pf but need to move Bargnani for a legit 5.  Babyless could possibly be the point guard fo the future or a top 6 man like Crawford.  Caulderon needs to go.  Raptors have the pieces to make this work but they have to trade talent to get talent.

Ed Davis and Amir Johnson right now at this stage of their careers are SLIGHT PFs. They are small at PF. Evans is an average defender at best, who just works hard but an amazing rebounder, although a horrible offensive player. Going forward Davis should start at PF and could be an impact player on defense and if he develops his midrange game he could be good enough to start. We need a C! We need a C! We need a C! WE NEED A CENTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY DONT YOU SEE THIS BRYAN COLENGELO! SOMEBODY WORKING WITH THE RAPTORS HEAD OFFICE IS BOUND TO SEE THIS! GET A FRICKING CENTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This may not be all that great but I have heard in the past that Dalembert wants to play in Toronto.  I think it could possibly go up there rather than be with Sacramento and I don’t know any other team that is looking at him.   He is not great but hey he is decent.  Also if Oden is healthy, Toronto could possibly get him.  GSW is trying to trade Biedrins.

Hey i signed Gasol as a free agent in association mode as the Cavs on nba 2k11. I had to pay him almost 15mil a year lmao. So if that happened you never know Toronto might get him.

Brendan Hayward can be had as well. Dan Gadzuric can take up some minutes even though he is not that good but not really terrible either and can be had for cheap.  Chris Kaman can be had but he is expensive unless he contract is soon to be up. Robin Lopez may be moved since Gortat has put up nice numbers for the Suns.  Toronto will have options but they need to be realistic and jump on someone early before a big man market is set.

    1) Bargnani looks like garbage. His defensive and rebounding awareness are still at 3 year old levels. Dude had no idea where the ball is going. I would trade Bargnani if a team is dumb enough to give up higher ceiling talent in return. (I would much rather have Gerald Wallace, a Curry/Monta, etc. )

    2) The future of the raptors will be determined by DRAFT picks. It’s good the raptors are on this losing tear. They need the high seed. Hopefully we can finish 2nd behind Cleveland. (repeat next year)

    3) Drafting for position makes absolutely no sense. Take the best player… probably Perry Jones or Kyrie Irving.

    4) Trade any of our assets ASAP for young talent. Calderon, Kleiza, Barbosa, Evans etc should be gone at the deadline if possible.

    5) It’s absolutely moronic that we rejected Michael Beasley. Also, why aren’t we trying to get Anthony Randolph? It’s sad that David Kahn’s rebuilding effort is light years ahead of ours.

    6) Amir Johnson is the Raptors best player. He is ultra efficient and makes key plays on D. Here’s my starting lineup:

PG Bayless – don’t give up on him. he has a star mentality.

    SG DeRozan

    SF Weems

    PF Bargnani

    C Amir Johnson

(Ed Davis getting tons of minutes)

    7) There is no point in trading for role players or veterans. We need to follow the OKC method of stockpiling high draft picks and hopefully get a couple franchise guys (Durant/Westbrook)

I wouldnt mind paying Dalembert 5-mil a year, punching the gun and trading Barbosa for him would be smart, even Gadzuric would be better then Bargnani at Center. @ paradox The reason Toronto doesnt go for Beasley or Randolph is because they are known to be bad influences within the community and very unpredictable personalities which doesnt work well with the ultimate owners of Torontos management, which are teachers. Ontarios teachers basically own the Toronto major sports teams. I really like the Bargnani for Ellis idea, and Golden State maybe the only team stupid enough to fall for somethig like that. Kyrie probally will get drafted before we have a chance to pick him so lets say we can grab a Perry Jones, Harrison Barnes type guy. that would leave us like this. Mabe grabbing a guy like Nogueira or Sidney with the Miami pick would be smart.

    PG-Ellis, Calderon, Bayless

    SG-Derozan, Weems

    SF-Jones/Barnes, Klieza, Wright

    PF-Johnson, Davis

    C-Dalembert, Nouiera/Sidney,Aijinca

That team could probally do some damage in the East.

I feel your pain! Bargnani only had ONE rebound in the first half against the Spurs. RIDICULOUS! I honestly feel like I just saw a shooting star everytime Bargnani grabs a rebound. We definitely need an inside presence. What do you think about Tyson Chandler? I feel if Bargnani has a C that can do all the dirty work and we switch Bargnani to PF, then he’ll be more effective. We do need a PG, I really do like Bayless though.

I feel like pulling out my hair sometimes when I watch the Raptors. We had a good chance at beating the Spurs tonight.

Yeah they just need a C, Bargnani can play the PF with no problems in my opinion, with Bosh gone he can settle into his natural position as stretch 4 once they get a proper C; though these are hard to come by these days. Bargnani dragging out a PF allows DeRozan more room to drive too. I like Bayless, DeRozan and Bargnani at the 4 as a solid core, but they need a bruising C desperately and a change in coaching to someone with a more defensive mindset.

Who cares who we get just get someone, Nene maybe available, I dont like Haywoods contract but who cares grab him if we can, Okur, Gasol, Kaman, even Speights would be better then starting Bagnani. I even think Aijinca could log more minutes, his footwork is horrible but hes long, can hit jumpers and can be physical if aggressive. Kanter even, Valanciunas who cares just get someone in that position whos going to rebound. Johnson is not a good rebounder despite popular belief, he brings the effort but is too weak to do the dirty work consitantly for 32-mpg. I mean we have 3 guys getting minutes at Center in Bargnani, Johnson, and davis and they are all considered weak rebounders at the PF spot.

Not to mention despite all these rebounding issues Barbosa really killed the game for us in the 4th qaurter TRIANO wouldnt substitute him for whatever bright reason, he turned the ball over, missed shots, took wild shots, fouled jumpshooters, and was soft on D and wen Klieza comes hes just gonna mess u the chemistry even more. You guys maybe high on Bayless but from what Ive seen he is not a starting PG in this league and shows potential to be a solid backup if he improves his focus and vision. You have guys that make winning plays, and guys that make losing plays, other then Derozan, Johnson, and Davis the whole team makes losing plays or just moderates the game (like Calderon, and Weems).

Our fans need to start getting pissed off.

I also don’t think Bayless has the ability to be a starting point guard in the league. You can see the difference when Bayless comes in for Calderon. When Calderon is in there is passing and they are running plays and pick and rolls/pops. But when Bayless comes in it’s mostly isos and they just cant really run anything cause Bayless doesn’t have the passing ability or court vision of a good point guard. What Bayless can be though is a great 6th man where all he has to do is score and defend, kinda like Barbosa (except for the defending part). So I’m hoping they can get rid of Barbosa pretty soon so Bayless can play that 6th man role, and i think he will excel at that role.
