valentineYou may not like him but damn if he isn’t the MVP. He dominates on offense while also racking up assist and rebounds and plays good defense. And his team is second in the east. How can anyone really argue with that. I would love for Kobe to get the MVP but i just can’t honestly say that Kobe or anyone else is playing at the level that LeBron is playing

BKKnicksfanParticipantI agree. I remember saying that weeks ago on a MVP forum topic that it’s Howard-Rose-James and I placed James one but thought Howard would win because I dunno if people would be bias or not towards LBJ.
I hope he wins it.

natedogggParticipantHe is an amazing player, but which other MVP candidates have 2 legit superstars with them?
maybe 1, but not 2 in their absolute primes. and this is always going to work against him.
but damn he is one insane basketballer.

omphalosParticipantIs he really MVP? You can’t say he’s making his teammates better this time around, if anything he’s making Wade play worse than usual; in games when he goes off Wade is almost a non-factor. MVP should be the clear leader on their team, and it’s unclear whether Wade still holds that title.
I still think Rose wins it this year, it would be ludicrous for Lebron to win it with the talent he has around him.

Champzilla21ParticipantI for sure think hes the MVP, i dont kare who else is on the team hes still playing at a ridiculous high level. And for he who said when lebron goes off wade is not on, unless u want then both scoring 40 together every night of course your going to appear to be off. And are you telling me that 3 of the best in the Nba together makes them worse and not MVP candidates? Playing with wade hes gotten as much out of it as wade has. If someone was supposedly better then me id have to prove to everyone that i was the better, with those 2 on a team u know with their killer drive they arent going to let the other one take a step forward while the other waits behind. Look past the score sheet, how often did u see wade and bosh stand up during heat time outs just as excited as the person who made a great play? Once in a blue moon? Watch wade make a steal and immediately he has his head up knowing that he doesnt have to make the one man play anymore cuz lebrons their. Start watching the games and ull see that lebron is the most talented player in the nba whether hes scoring passing rebounding or spiking a ball away just take it all in becuz your probably not going to watch another player like him in your life time.

KayjayParticipantCome on now, the number one reason I like Lebron is because of the fact he makes his team mates better. Its one of the reasons that makes Lebron a cut above the rest of the small fowards in the league today. Arguably, I don’t think the team would be ran so well if they weren’t running their offense through Lebron. I know the Heat would be okay, but his stats all around says everything. And on top of that he’s not even a point guard. Its impressive no matter how you look at it.

NYK2010ParticipantI think its Rose so far, he’s lead the team and especially with key injuries to Boozer and Noah.
Lebron and Kobe maybe 2nd and 3rd The Heat and Lakers both have mulitple top players on their teams. Wade, Bosh and Gasol, and with Odom having a great year too. Bynum is healthy now too and the Lakers are 1-5 against top teams the Bulls, Heat, Celtics, Mavs, Spurs twice. The Lakers have a tough schedule the rest of the way if they keep winning at the same % I can see Kobe winning it.

omphalosParticipantI meant he doesn’t make Wade better, the team is so talented that one of his more valuable traits isn’t coming to the fore. The reason they are better with him running the show is because their PGs are awful. I just find it hard to justify giving him the award this time in comparison to the efforts of Howard, Rose and others in lifting their less-talented teams to greater heights.

Ghost01ParticipantIts been 3 years since anyone was playing remotely close to Lebron’s level. Problem is, absolutely no way he wins the MVP this year cuz of what went down.

DanEboyParticipantI am as big a Rose fan as there is but how can anyone argue that LeBron isn’t the most valuable player in the NBA?
This past week he has shown that, if wanted to, can put up 40pts 10reb 10ast anytime he wants. He does with such ease it’s ridiculous.
But why doesn’t he do it every game?

NickWayne87ParticipantLook, I live in rockford illinois 90 miles away from chicago. I’ve been a fan of D Rose since he was in high school, I love his game, it’s electrifying. He does now and has always reminded me of another chicago native, dwade. With that being said, Lebron joins the heat, they improve, Lebron leaves the cavs and well……you know, lol. They make history in a very BAD way. He’s still producing just as he as ever has with slightly less scoring. If it weren’t for the adjustment period and injuries the heat’s record would be even better. LeBron James is the MVP, we all know it, the media just doesn’t like it. YOU don’t like it, but you know it’s true.

NickWayne87ParticipantI probably want DRose to win mvp as much as anyone, and at the start of the season i was rooting for him to get it. But even I can see that the mvp is who it was the last 2 years in a row. Lebron James.

SupParticipantUm no he’s not. 40 against the Pacers? Who cares…Lebron has proven one thing this season, that he’s more durable than Dwayne Wade. MVP in American sports means nothing anymore anyway…Tom Brady just one unanimously in the NFL. Really??? Michael Vick didn’t get one vote? Seems like the MVP criteria always changes in order to favor corny players.

canesboy6Participantyour score makes this all make sense.
Tom Brady was better than Michael Vick this year. Vick was great though. You dont give the MVP to every great player. You give it to the best.
That has been and still is right now Lebron.
I dont want him to win it because its boring, but giving it to Rose would just be for the sake of not giving it to Lebron and I think by the time the season ends, that will become more and more clear.
Just look at Cleveland. Theres Lebrons case right there, last year they were literally the exact same team just with Lebron and had the NBA’s best record. For the argument that Lebron has so much talent around him, you can easily flip that to say Lebron took a completely new team of guys who had never played together, with as big a bullseye on their back as theres ever been in the NBA, in a season thats been pretty affected by injuries, and has them among the NBA’s top 2 or 3 no question.
1. Lebron
2. Rose
3. Howard
4. Amare
5. KD
6. John Bryant

ChrischiParticipantHow can you not like D.Rose? He came to the league and became the ROY. In his 2nd year he became a franchise player and an All-Star. In his third year he became a three point shooter. He has a great, laid back, personality. His team has one of the best records although they have struggled with injuries.
But how can Lebron not be over him in the MVP discussion.
Lebron is more productive.
Lebron is on a top player on both ends.
Look at the Cavs.
The Heat have a better record and will have a better reason at the end of this season.
Let’s not forget that also the Heat have struggled with injuries. Udonis Haslem hasn’t played a game and Miller missed half of the season. Also the Big three weren’t completely injury free.
And people act as if D.Rose has no talent around him. Boozer is an all-star. Noah and Deng are very good starters. Brewer is a great defender. A reason that the Bulls team is so good is because of their defense and that credit has to go to Thibodeau and their main defensive players: Noah, Brewer, Gibson and Big Sexy. Don’t forget they also have a bunch of good role players.

natedogggParticipantone way i like to look at it, is if you took that player off their team how would they go.
Miami – LeBron are still very good with wade and bosh
Chicago – would really suffer without Rose
New York – would be nothing short of terrible without Amare
New Orleans – Not a team without Paul.
Lakers – theroetically should be still good without Kobe but i dont know how they would go.

omphalosParticipant@nate; that’s what I’ve been trying to say, but it isn’t getting through for some reason.
Yes, we know he CAN make terrible team mates better like he did in Cleveland, but when he has Wade and Bosh, he doesn’t really make them much better because they are so good already, so that aspect of his game is almost a non-factor this season.
