This Slam Dunk contest is not getting the hype I think it deserves. We have 4 tremendous athletes entering this year and it should be a very exciting competition not because of their athletisism but due to their nature.

    Blake Griffin- The Favourite

Blake is the most exciting player to play in te NBA since Vince Carter was with the Raptors. Not only can Blake get UP, he is extremely good at controlling his body, and has a great sense of where the rim is. His dunks should be memorable. Lets not forget how competitive Blake can be.

    DeMar Derozan-  Looking for Revenge

Many people still think DeMar Derozan was ripped off in the Slam Dunk contest last year, and after losing by one percent to Nate th Great he should be looking for revenge. DeMar has really come out of his shell this year, and rumours have been said that Dwight Howard has been giving the youngster some hints and help prepping for the big show.

    Javale McGee- Blakes Greatest Threat

Javale McGee may have the highest reach in the whole NBA, maybe even able to jump higher then Dwight Howard. Not only is Javale an explosive, long, lanky, and strong finisher, he is also a huge showboat and loves to thrill his veiwers. I expect him to get the crowd engaged and thrive when under the crowds attention and pressure.

    Serge Ibaka- The Underdog

Alot of people maybe napping on Serge but the fact is he is not a weak link, and may make Derozan look like the weak link of the contest. Just take a look at Ibakas highlights you will see an extremely explosive athlete, who wont get recognition for his athletisism. Whether or not he has the flair needed for this competition remains to be seen, although hes definitely got the hops.

This Slam Dunk contest SHOULD be just as entertaining as Dwight Howards superman contest, Josh Smiths Wilkins jersey contest, Richardsons through the legs varitions, and Vince Carters Its over contest. Hopefully these other competitors can at least make Blake work for it.

I highly doubt it will be the best…… There aren’t any guys under 6’7”, I always look foward to seeing at least a 6’3”-‘6’4” guy with bounce in the contest. I really don’t see anything spectacular happening from anyone.

Javale McGee may turn into a dunking legend here. He is the best Micheal Jordan immitating dunker Ive ever seen. I know Blakes got something for us, and I know DeMars got something for us. Its gonna be nice.

Dont be scared to hype it up because of last year LOL. Lets picture last year as a freak accident that never should have happened. The Slam Dunk contest is still very much alive guys. I wouldnt miss this one if I were you. Forget about last year, its ok…its ok…

    "What do you mean Memphis."

Iverson was suppose to be in the ’97 Dunk Contest that Kobe won which I doubt would have happend. Although Iverson played in the Rookie Challenge, he pulled out with a mysterious injury that I still question today.

Ha yah, well Jennings and Derozan are actaully very good friends so you maybe right on that one. They grew up together and still keep in touch to this day. Difference is Jennings is actaully recovering from an injury but still it seems a little fishy.

Ibaka will suck in this competition. Hes a good leaper, but he is a stiff athlete and moves “robotic”
