valentineFirst off, I better not get negative points just for making a thread. You idiots seem to just give me negatives for no reason, its annoying and disrespectful.
Now that the B.S. is out of the way, how will Selby translate to the NBA. PG? SG? And where will he be drafted if he chooses to come out this year? I see alot of similarities between him and Jarryd Bayless, what does he need to work on to avoid being in the same situation as Bayless? He seems like a good shooter (+40% from the 3pt Line), and package that with his elite athleticism.

JoeWolf1I’ll be the first idiot to reply to your post. I’ll start things off by saying his athleticism isn’t elite. If Rose and Westbrook have elite athleticism he’s somewhere in the realm of Jrue Holiday or a stronger Brandon Jennings. He is a work in progress, he possesses good court vision and can make plays in the open court, but doesn’t have a good grasp on running the offense and getting others involved like a true point would. This isn’t a case where Jrue Holiday is playing off guard because Darren Collison a proven point guard and 1st rounder is the established point. Tyshawn Taylor is just better at running the point right now ( he’s pretty mediocre in my opinon).
I think he’ll be a point guard, but I really don’t see him as a starter in the leauge. He came with a lot of hype and I don’t doubt he’ll play in the NBA, but I see a backup because he is a combo guard who often falls in love with his jumpshot. He hasn’t gotten that if your jumper isn’t falling you should use your speed to drive and try to get to the line. If he’s off he shoots himself out of games.
He has played better lately, but he has some work before he can run the point at an NBA level. I would reccomend another year of college, but I don’t know if he’ll do that. If he gets picked up in the 20’s by a playoff team ( which I think is where he’d go if he left this year) I’d expect him to make an impact similar to Jeff Teague. He’s a poor man’s Kemba right now, but more developed than Kemba was as a freshman.
I know I’m being a little harsh because he’s a young player and could improve significantly, but I think it’s more realistic to analyze like this than project every as reaching their ceiling.
I think Randy Foye is a pretty good comparison.

Wavy BagelsParticipantit seems as though you made too much emphasis on the negative votes it has become the main subject of this post lol. just state your opinion and whoever likes it likes it, and who doesn’t it’s not a big deal. nobody’s posting to win a new car or anything.

4th dimensionYes your right, Points dont mean a damn thing, but it does show disrespect by giving someone negative pts for no reason? How is it that I have only 20 post and Im already at -100 pts? Ridiculous and its annoying.

4th dimensionCan we just discuss Selby’s game and keep away from the negative pts button.

T-Wolvesfan13ParticipantWell first off you said "I better not get negative points just for making a thread. You idiots seem to just give me negatives for no reason, its annoying and disrespectful".
You called us idiots before you even made you point! You were disrespectful and annoying before you said anything about basketball. And i am pretty sure that pissed people off right away. Bro just make your point and stop insulting people and calling them names! You make pretty good points. But being a jerk is not going to help you. If you just talk bball people with stop hating on you.
With that said i think Josh Selby is going to be an alright pro. He could go to a few all-star games. But i don’t see him becoming an every year all-star. And i see Jarryd Bayless in his game.

I May Be WrongParticipantI don’t like being called an idiot so -1 for you my friend.
But I think Randy Foye comparison is good one by JoeWolf although with more athleticism I think.

OhCanada-ParticipantI gave you 3 negative points :). I did that because I care, also because the first rule to avoiding negs would just happen to be not talking about them. I can get negatives anytime I want just by talking about the point system watch.
BTW I expect everyone who agrees with my statmenet to give me a positive, you know you wannnaaaa!
